All of my life there's been a constant deficit of truly sci-fi music, like not *inspired* or *about* sci-fi, but legit sci fi bangers about all of the different little intricacies that make sci fi so cool. The past EP covered so many of these details, but this album is truly going to be something different!

I have made an entire timeline for these songs except boy wonder I don't really know for that one
@@yurboiherambae9313 I would argue Boy Wonder could be one of the early events in the timeline, because of the "happy" tone and the mention of negotiations. Since Kill All Xenos mentions that, at first, the human race acted as a diplomat, sharing its culture with the other races.

They're not told what's going on out there and that they're eradicating entire species. To them it looks like this kid is somehow bringing all this wealth and prosperity out of nowhere. perhaps it's not even a song of the people's perspective while all this is happening but propaganda instead but i like the clueless population idea more

As much great filk is out there, there'll never be enough sci-fi music. You've done an amazing job.
It's like Wars Of Expansion and Kill All Xenos tell the same events from different perspectives. While Kill All Xenos is self-reflective, questioning the need for this war; Wars of Expansion embraces the war, the narrator embraces the thing they have become.
I got a different take. Same events, but I view it as one of 2 ways. Either from two different humans.... or One human at the start of the war, and then years later after being through the thick of it many times and having his views changed.
Kill all xenos seems like an in the middle of the war perspective of human and alien combatants and this is like the propaganda the new human regime is spouting back home to justify the xenocide
i'm the same with the idea that they're from other perspectives. I feel wars of expension is from the perspective of the general or commander giving out the orders and enjoying his easy victories. Kill all xenos is the perspective of the ground soldier who didn't know he was being send to kill the peacefull aliens and regrets everything that is happening, and then boy wonder is the people; clueless about what's happening this leader is somehow creating all this wealth and prosperity
I think that the kill all xenos was a trooper of the security detail of the diplomatic core. Seing as they were always send first until they were made redundant by the galaxy wide war. This one i think its from a drop trooper. seing as he mentions decending on a shuttle after orbital bombardment and then being on the frontline. Probably made a military career during the war of expansion.
I think they both embrace it, but to different degrees, and yes the former is more self reflective.

@@lc1138 That is extremely unlikely. Humanity is too intelligent and resilient to be doomed by something like that, only humbled. We survived about 3 ice ages of different magnitudes, and the problems of habitability that followed.

@@charlesc.9012 "duty" is an excessive term imo. The question doesn't appear because we come from a long, long, long genealogy of beings that tried their best to survive. Or, put differently : those which did not want enough to survive died before reproduction.
I don't see any "natural duty" here, just genetics and the hazards of life. Duty comes with conscience, and we've got one.
BRUH the joy I felt when it hit "greetings from beloved Terra" like I already headcannoned it as the same war as kill all xenos but it being a full ass crossover episode??? Iconic. So glad a found this band, it's outside of my usual taste but it really fuckin slaps

Helldivers 2 story summary 😂😂
The day was warm and bright. Father was away to visit his brother in the capital. He wanted me to go with him. "We can go to the big game if we can make time," he had said. Mother wanted me to stay as she needed help with running the nursery. I turned down Father's offer as I did not want to travel back to the capital so soon. My academy was closed for commemoration week and I had just arrived the other day.
My mother picked out my best working suit , told me to wear it and meet her in the nursery. Xenin shone in the sky brightly.
"Proxima Centauri" I mumbled to myself. That's what the visitors called it. They had made contact just a year ago. It was all anyone could talk about. Primary apprehension of meeting them was overcome by the signing of the friendship treaty. They said that they were from Terra, a habitable planet in the "Solar System". The stories of their homeland were so fascinating that nobody questioned the positioning of their militaresque orbital ships above our skies. My uncle was the only one in the Council of Elders to voice concern. He was outvoted in the motion. With no support from anyone, my uncle requested the help of my father, an ex-member of the council, to go to the capital. He wanted father's help to change the mind of the council. I never really trusted the visitors. Something about them felt very unusual. They had difficulty breathing the same air as us. They never really showed any affection towards our art or engineering. Their leaders were mostly interested in the mineral contents of our planet.
I walked down to the nursery. My mother had already begun to feed the plants the critters we had caught. As I began to help her, I got an uplifting thought. My life , I thought, was going to change for the better. It did change, only for the worse. In that split second, explosions rocked the very ground beneath us. Soon, above were ships flying past at breakneck speeds shooting anything that walked. We could see smoke rise from the distant towns. Somehow, we managed to make it back to our shelter. Through a hole, I peeked outside to see what was unravelling. Terran soldiers had landed on our nursery. I saw a familiar figure being tied and dragged to what looked like the commander of the squad. It was our neighbor. "WHY!?", shrieked our neighbor. The Terran replied in cold words," We have orders: KILL ALL XENOS." A shot rang and the body of our neighbor lay dead in the lawn.
Now they turned towards the shelter. Moving in single line, they approached with confidence and surety that they would find more Xenos inside. Their dark figures, hissing and shoving aside anything that stood in their way.
*This is my pathetic attempt at writing something for once. Feedback is much appreciated.
Well, god damn. That was refresing af. Truly, this fits very well into the universe of the songs we have created. And its such a damn joy when i go through the comments and ya'll take the time and energy to write and create stories and ideas that blend in very nicely with the vision i had. Please keep writing more, it really makes my day and yes inspires and gives me even more ideas for the future. Seriously, some of ya'll really know your stuff, even more than i do, when it comes to sci-fi and worldbuilding, so pleaseee keep writing my dude. Have a lovely day now 🖤

Goddamn, I started to follow you back when Bardcore (I preferred Tavernwave as a term, but we can't have everything) was *the* thing, and then you dropped Girl from Ganymede and I was immediately on board (I blasted that song on repeat) and this is just getting better and better.

@@balck1123 I've given some thought on that actually I believe it is the final song in the timeline an older and wiser humanity having either wiped out all of their competitors or we're learned from the errors of their way we've message hidden throughout worlds that might eventually support life again leaving the vast wealth of knowledge that man has to offer to these aliens so that they might not make the same mistakes humanity did in their time in the sun.
Maybe have bar in the belt right after or before girl from ganymede as humanity just now breaking away from to solar system to explore other systems.
I like to imagine that The Space Cadets are a post-galactic war punk band.

I have no idea what it is about this song but it's like you're right there, watching it happen. It's both amazing and scary. Amazing because my mind vividly plays back an epic sci-fi story, but it's scary for the same reason, because at least Starship Troopers and 40k grants you an excuse that allows you to cope. You do this to protect mankind and if you want to, you can easily convince yourself of it and ignore the red flags. This, though? That's putting mankind's capability for malice on full display and proudly so, with no excuse whatsoever. I hate and love it.

The sequel of kill all xenos, just what I wanted! I hope you'll continue doing these. In most stories humanity is usually portrayed as the underdog or as part of some alliance with nice aliens, but humans as the seemingly monstrous militaristic aliens is a fascinating idea that not many sci-fi stories touch on. I love it.

I like how both "Kill All Xenos" and this are from the perspective of a soldier (perhaps there will be one from someone not on the ground later on...?) after the fact but the first (specially the chorus) is sung as a traumatic experience while this one just goes full space-fascist. I keep hearing 'Arthropods' as Autobots and it detracts nothing
Amazing songs, and they all show possible paths for humanity. It shows today's problems tomorrow, which makes it a bit like a completely serious version of futurama. To summarize what it is/was, it is/it was basically 1,000 years of technological development, but very little social progress has been made. While they use(d) it for humor, you seem to be using it to make modern problems easier to process, while keeping the intended impact.
I usually don't write whole letters for comments, but I do make some exceptions.
Some of these songs feel super 40k inspired which is awesome, since most 40k songs are terrible, terrible death metal for some reason.
Can we get the album art as a poster somewhere? And the same question goes to your other songs
