Also, how many sacks will you wet that much without wearing yourself out!. Our latest research indicated that long stakes and medium stakes doesn't have any significant differences. All you need do is 1. Get a good sack, you can use a cement sack, sacks of chicken feeds etc. 2. Get a good source of seed yams or produce yam setts from a big tubers that has good genetic materials. 3. Plant during planting season, say march to April when rain is also about to start properly, stake properly and expect a good outcome at the end of the year around November to December. Thank me later....👍
Thank you my brother for This explanation we have come across two people teaching this topic but your experience and explanation is the best and understandable thanks a lot .
@@Naturesheritagenetwork this method really works well. I planted yam in bags in May and the last 3 bags, i had little soil. So i just thought of puting so soil under the bag, banana peels in the middle and a little soil at the top. I just harvested them and sincerely, the harvest of those 3 bags is enormous, many times bigger n longer than the bags full of soil. This will be my method of planting yams in bag hence forth. Thanks for the knowledge.
Good teaching, detailed lecture is quality of great teachers. Thanks. Pls your link to get yam seed and tuber is important sir. Even the process of fertilization
Thanks for your very helpful video. You however skipped one stage; that is how to put the tuber you want to plant in the soil in the bag. Is it sideways, vertical or how.
According to the seed yam on your right hand, you said it will assist the growth of the yam for 3month, my question is this, if your have water access to water the yam everyday, do you still have to plant that or cut it in two?
No sir. Research has shown that the bigger the seed, the larger the tubers but it has a ceiling of 350g. What you saw with me is a mini tuber which is a type of seed yam designed to be planted. I have demonstrated in another video how it is grown. Pls check this link: ruclips.net/video/DvWHg_bLbes/видео.html
There is an easier way to sieve the soil faser than using the hand-held sieve. Get the welders to fabricate it for you. It is formed as a rectangular structure, but the height of it should be more than the width for the soil to drop down from a distance. It all depends on the sieve dimensions. It could be square but big enough for the soil thrown at it to drop downwards, hence sieving further. The structure is made like V but placed and secured upside down and the lower points open wide. One side is welded as the desired sieve mesh with the rims (perimeter) reinforced with a light bar to give strength to the sieve. The other side are two strong legs to support the sieve side. The two are hinged on top at two points to open or close the structure. In these times, you can see some Upside V display units for advertisement. Once you are ready to sieve the soil, you open the structure at a wide angle, making sure the two legs to one side are firm on the ground. You shall need a shovel (or spade) to shovel the soil to be sieved at the sieve. Thow (toss) soil 29:16 at the middle or top portion of the slanted sieve. By so doing, the smaller sand particles go to the sieve and are lodged under the upside down V structure or the gable of the legs and the back of the sieve. The rocks or such unwanted pebbles trown at the sieve drop in front of the sieve, which are separated from the desired soil. The unwanted soil materials are periodically removed, and so are the sieved soils or the sieve structure moved periodically and carefully so as to separate the two soils. This way of shoveling the soil for sieving is faster and gives more output than the hand-held type. The soil should also not be too wet to be able to go through the mesh and not to from clods or to be soggy.
Most appropriate is late April/Early May for rain-fed farming. But if you have irrigation system, and seeds that have broken dormancy you can plant anytime
Start applying foliar fertilizers as soon as you notice enough leaves usually from the second month after germination. Thereafter, once every two weeks is fair enough.
Pls how do one make the soil in the sack to be fertile after about 2 times been used to plant I mean is there any particular fertilizer to be added to the soil thanks

Weldon sir, is it possible to mix poultry dompings with the sand b4 bagging it and plant directly in it
You can do that.but don't let the poultry droppings be too much. Thanks
Sir, which time of the year is most appropriate for planting yams in bags?
Most appropriate is late April/Early May for rain-fed farming. But if you have irrigation system, and seeds that have broken dormancy you can plant anytime
Also, the trunk, that should be placed inside the bag, should it be a fresh one or dead one ?
Either of both is ok. It will eventually decay anyway
Can you also use water 💦 holes to water the sacks even if you haven't got the first rains to start germinating?
Yes sir. With available water, u can grow yams in sacks anytime
Sir please, how should I measure my foliar fertilizer into the spraying tank ?
Usually, the manufacturer gives the instructions. Read from the container or pack.
Ohk, thanks
Please sir if am planting with yam head is it going to face down or upwards
Please sir which chemical will I use on the yam seed before planting

No sir. 3 or more.

What ever works for you is fine!
Also, which time is the best to start applying my foliar after harvesting, (how many weeks or months)?
Pls explain better. What do you really mean by after harvesting?
O sorry, I mean right after the germination
Start applying foliar fertilizers as soon as you notice enough leaves usually from the second month after germination. Thereafter, once every two weeks is fair enough.

What are foliar fertilisers and how does one get or make them
They are liquid fertilizers (organic or inorganic) specially manufactured for the leaves. They can easily be absorbed through the leaves.
Can some one use cow hunk instead of fertilizer
Yes
