No, Perceptor does not go "Squirrel!" He goes "Observe, sciuridae!"
I believe Sciuridae would only be grammatically correct if there were multiple squirrels belonging to different species. If there is only one individual, or multiple individuals of the same species, it would be "observe, sciurid"

Originally Perceptor was a Microman toy from Takara. That is why he used to turn into a tank. He was a robot used by the Microman to ride as a tank.
The mini figures are a reference to the G1 episode "Microbots"
Oh yes, I get that. And they’re positively delightful. What I mean is that I would like to see more X-Transbots mini figures. These little guys are the best, and I wouldn’t mind seeing them do every other minifigure application - human companions, more tiny transformers characters for scaling, etc.

It's ridiculous, but the tank mode works! I am impressed how the tank treads are hidden and flip out in a really neat manner! the Mini-figs are really a sweet addition, not to mention the extra weaponry and the accessories!
YES....i agree with you; I'll use the mini figs for my g1 metroplex and other cities...so cool!
Bumblebee looks like he’s SEEN some things😹
He does have an ab crunch, by the way. You have to unplug a thing in the back. XTB posted on their FB page a handful of small things that got left out of the instruction sheet, and that was one of them.
The torso being that thick is Sunbow accurate.

Sometimes first isn't always best. I think they rushed this release. Did you notice how emgo wasn't super ecstatic about it in his final thoughts? It sounded like he graded it a "B," which is good... but it certainly isn't an "A." Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the XTB/FT competition. I just don't think that they are in the same league.
Its much better looking than the first fanstoys perceptor

It looks so premium, so nicely and accurately coloured and finished. It makes me wanna get it whereas usually I decide to buy a character first and then I search for the best implementation of it!
I find its transformation insanely difficult though -which is kind of expected.
if memory serves correct, the instructions for G1 Perceptor called the 3rd mode a "mobile observatory". that always made it more palatable for me
If Xtransbots are going to be doing these mini figures, It actually sways me to buy them.
I guessing the minifigs are for the G1 cartoon episode where they shrink to enter Megatron

The minifigures are an awesome idea, perfect for a little diorama. And the little Bumbelbee looks like he got googly eyes. I want that figure now.

Another great video review!. The figure looks good and the transformation isn't complicated at all. My only concern would be getting frustrated lining the panels up correctly to form the sides back up into robot mode b/c of the tight space you're working with. Really good engineering on display. Congrats on getting an early review copy!

It's true that it leaves it in the dust, chronologically speaking, but I bet if you were able to handle XTB's perceptor and FT's new perceptor at the same time, you would see where all that extra time went (that FT put into theirs). Wait till it drops and the reviews come out. I have a feeling FT is upping their game these days, if that was even possible, partly due to competition with XTB. Their new huffer is a thing of beauty!

That little Perceptor would go great with Omega Supreme.
Again I didn't see all the things before I commented. All those are great and would be cool in Omega Supreme, or Metroplex. Hope you get more of the little guys
It's funny to imagine a super-advanced alien race just using giant glass beakers and test tubes. If it ain't broke, I guess.
The minifigs make me wanna see them in a size comparison to the last citybot Hasbro had put out. Though I'm guessing they'd be able to scale real well with Scorponok's base mode.
Actually theyre from the episode where he shrunk them to get in and remove the starship power source out of megatron. Brawn hated that perceptor wasnt a fighter, and thought he was useless until perceptor proved him wrong.

if the blue folding bar for the microscope makes you uneasy about this figure DON'T WORRY...its just like on the video; its easy to maneuver and get out and also put back into place. Just examine how it looks before you take it out and you will be fine! It a great rendition and it has some heft to it!!!
I'm sure the mini figures are homage to the G1 episode where they shrunk down n went into Megatron to rip the Heart of Cybertron energy maximizer crystal out

I love his borg eye piece!
Although mine has not arrived yet, I chose this one over Fans Toys mostly due to the accessories. The microbots were a "must have" for me. I like the chest plate better on Tesla but those little guys won me over in the end.

I like that it includes the IDW-style heads, with the targeting reticule, but a shame they left out his sniper rifle.

Merry late Christmas Emgo. I got Vintage Primal and Megs, -Slag- Slug, Tigatron, Airazor, another Sweep, B-127, Transmutate, Tricranius, and THE CENTURION DRONE!!!!! I still can't believe my mom found one sealed? The drone is kinda like Santa because he comes with a bag of accessories for your other figures? Santarion Drone, lol?

I think they should include some sort of treasure chest for all the little bits.
Is it me, or is this one of the easiest XTB transformations ever? I looks so much simpler then some of XTB's other figures.
It is a much easier transformation compared to their other figures but you still need to be careful because you can easily damage or break the figure in many instances.

Here is the big question... Based on what is typical for Fanstoys quality, take Acoustic Wave for example, would you recommend, especially given the drastic cost difference, that it is worth investing in Janssen over fanstoys?

How's the quality for this sample? With the alt head, he looks better than Tesla 2.0, but I am so afraid that he will be just like the 1st version of Locke and it's what's holding me from pre-ordering it.

Seems like some of the transformation is needlessly complicated. But what do I know, I'm not an engineer. I remember g1 preceptor just sliding the microscope part over his head after it was pushed down.
Love the minifigs as they pay homage to that one episode where brawn hated perceptor and he shrunk them to remove a dangerous power source from megatron's body. The power source was in the crashed nemesis spaceship they had in the first episode and the shrinking of them paid homage to his original "microman" toy.

You can put the little guys in tank microman mode on the preceptor in his microman mode and halve also G1 on there too. Ha. :) Because it would be precious., Oh., so precious.
i've seen another review where the toy had really bad stability issues did you experience anything like that in bot mode with him standing and being posed ?

I have a question about X-Transbots. Have their products improved, from a general point of view? I'm not saying they seem "bad," and they're likely one of the more successful 3P companies for a reason, but I have yet to pick up one of their products largely due to reviews demonstrating difficulties with things colliding and potentially breaking as a result. A lot of their stuff looks fantastic, but I'd hate to break one.
I have a ton of XTB stuff. The only thing I’ve ever broken is when I rotated Windchargers ankle the wrong way and snapped a piece (note, transformation and both modes still work). As long as you don’t do something dumb (or have the first run of their Kup which was QC plagued) then they’re as durable as any other 3P
