- Hi, Friends today we are taking you on Tungareshwar Trek, so before we start let's know some facts.
Tungareshwar is a mountain plateau situated between Virar and Vasai. It is a dense forest region - in the monsoon, the surroundings are lush and green and interspersed with flowing waterfalls. At an altitude of about 2,177 feet, it is a popular destination for trekkers. In a bid to improve the habitat for animals, and safeguard more territory for predators such as leopards, Tungareshwar was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 2003.
Apart from trekking, many tourists come here for Bird watching & also to Take Blessings of Tungareshwar Mahadev & also Balyogi Sadanand Maharaj. During the Month of Shravan & Mahashivratri, you can find a heavy rush of devotees here, but the most popular activity here is to take a bath in a natural waterfall that is located near the main temple. Now there is one more artificial waterfall that was created by management for senior citizens & Small kids because the main waterfall is very difficult to access as there are big rocks coming along the way.
How to reach?
By Air
The nearest airport is Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (40km around 2 hours away).
By Rail
The nearest suburban railway station is Vasai Road, on the western line. Take the exit on the east side. From here, you can take Buses to Bapa Sitaram Mandir which is located at the base, Alternatively, auto rickshaws are available too. It takes about 45 mins to reach.
ByRoad
Tungareshwar is located on NH-48 ( Mumbai Ahemadabad Western Express Highway) From Tungar Phata aka Sativali Phata, there is the way going from Below the flyover towards Bapa Sitaram Mandir.
Temple is situated 3km away from Base you can park Vehicle hare or also take with you but be careful that the road is very slushy & rocky, especially during monsoon. There is an Entry Ticket of Rs.35/-, which is recovered by Forest Dept. but every Monday entry is free.
Best Time To Visit?
Tungareshwar can be visited throughout the year. But Monsoon is the best time to visit.
Timings?
The sanctuary doesn’t have any fixed timings but after 7pm they don't allow people to climb as this is a forest area, but at the time of Shravan & Mahashivratri, the trek is open for devotees for 24hrs.
The trail after the temple (around 7km to the top) the one more Ashram is situated of Balyogi Sadanand Maharaj, wildlife enthusiasts must visit here because of its dense tree cover. There is less human disturbance here, and the chances of seeing wildlife, especially birds, are good.
What to Carry?
Food & water is available at the Temple site, but carry one bottle on the way.
Carry your camera gear and binoculars.
Mosquito repellent will come in handy.
Emergency medication and prescription medicines, if any.
Wear good trekking shoes or floaters.
Take an extra pair of clothes if you want to take a bath in a waterfall.
Where to Stay?
There is no staying facility available here on top, but at the base at Tungar Phata, you can find many small & big Hotels.
Try to get down by 5:30 to 6pm or before dark.
Mostly we visit here during every rainy season, I hope you also had a good time with us, if you have any questions about this trip please feel free to comment to us below.

Ok thanks
Restaurant hai ky or 4 Wheeler jati hai ky
Yes small hotels hai uper temple ke pass, aur 4 wheeler se bhi ja sakte hai, lekin gadi ki ground clearance jyada hona chahiye. Aur 4x4 hai to best hai
thanks for the video. can one cycle till the temple ?
Yes of course, many cyclists are going on top.
Sir vasai se kaha tak ke liye bus milegi aur kitna charge karte hai
Vasai East se aapko Bapa Sitaram Mandir tak Bus milegi, charges pakka to pata nahi lekin 10-15 ke aas pass hoga.
Whats distance to the peak of tungareshwar?
The altitude of tungareshwar peak is around 2185 feet. And from ground the main temple is located 2.5 km away.
@@DiscoverIndiabyroad how tough is the trek from temple to the peak of mountain ?
In vasai there is jivdani mata mandir you should visit there
Yes sure will do it.
Tungareshwar temple se after yeh waterfall Jane me kitna time lagta
Mandir se Waterfall ka distance to hardly 100 - 200 meter hi hoga lekin rasta patharo wala hai to sambhal ke jana padega.
@@DiscoverIndiabyroad Thankyou 💖
My pleasure ☺️
Sir yaha Changing rooms hote he kya ladkiyon k liye?
Propar changing room to nahi hai, lekin Mandir ke pass kuch rooms bane hai aap waha per change kar sakte hai.
sir, i am planning to go tomorrow,solo..akele travel kar sakte hai? risky toh nahi hai na? pls reply..
No, not risky at all just follow the trail. But if you want to enjoy Waterfall you should wait for sometime. After proper monsoon the Waterfall is more enjoyable. We mostly visit here after mid July.
But you can visit anytime and solo traveling is not an issue.
All the best 👍

Sir I need your help with some information about the place
I am planning to visit the place on bike. Eill i be able to reach to the temple on bike and as you said there are multiple river crossings so can i cross it on bike ?
Yes of course you can, just you need to be more careful while crossing the water streams. During this season many bikers plan their ride here. They start from back side of mountain ( Vajreshwari side) and return from bapa sitaram side.
@@DiscoverIndiabyroad Thank You so much and is it open currently ? Any Idea ?
I do think so. But you can try from Vajreshwari side, as there is no checking on that side.
Winter me waterfall pe pani hota he kya
Nahi, pani nahi hoga lekin phir bhi gumne main maza aayega.
Tungareshwar me or konse place hai.. Or time kitna lagta hai
Tungareshwar se uper ki aur ek aur ashram hai waha jane ke liye 1 hour lag sakta hai.
Ek durga mata mandir bhi hai upar side
Naigaon Station se Rickshaw/Bus ke kitne paise haii ?
Naigaon station se koi idea nahi hai, lekin vasai se jyada costly hoga for sure.
Exactly kitnaa ?
No idea, never traveled by auto or bus.
