I was stationed at Camp Pendleton while in the Marines, 1976. There were signs on the beach warning of raw sewage and beach closed. 50 yrs later and still nothing done.

Imagine investing in helping to solve this problem with Mexico instead of shipping it off to Ukraine to be embezzled.

How about make Mexico take care of their waste?
California has the strictest emissions laws yet they can't do anything about this??

@@marryellenmonahan5585 That's literally why the South Bay International Wastewater Treatment Plant was constructed.
We are treating 25 million gallons per day at that plant because of the contamination that is originating from Tijuana.
A great concept would be to redirect the river back into the country that is choosing to do nothing about it.
Another great concept would be to force Mexico (the country that is causing the problem) to fund the solution to it instead of putting the financial burden on the tax payers that are suffering because of it( the American people, specifically California residents)
Governor Gavin Newson is worried about getting rid of gasoline powered vehicles while ignoring the ocean being heavily contaminated by a neighboring country.

@@marryellenmonahan5585America has given Mexico money to clean up their 💩💩💩. Mexico does not care. Calif has strict auto and truck emissions laws. Mexico doesn’t care. In fact they buy the trucks that won’t pass emissions in Calif.
How about Mexico work to clean up with act!!!

Nothing will ever happen. Money, as always, will be the focus of our officials and everyone involved. Its not new info, its not rocket science. Cities put effort into things like tourism and things that will increase revenue, not decrease it. A thousand people could die from this contamination, but until they are dying on the spot standing next to the waterways nothing will be done. Any city official knows that tourists will still come to San Diego regardless of what the newscasters say, regardless of what injustice is happening to locals. They know people will still spend tax paying dollars so why would your city spend lots of money on the welfare of locals? The locals, regardless of their displeasure with a city will still spend money and stay. There is no incentive nor importance to fix what most people dont see or smell on a daily basis. Sad, but if you could see behind scenes of what most city officials do or dont do im sure this wouldnt be the highest complaint.

      California ingeneral had a 'Cholera'
epidemic in local city of Downtown Los Angeles, it more or less recently entered a few years ago from the Homeless populace inside San Diego enroute from S.D train station transiting into a small but somewhat localized Southwest Los Angeles area.

My family moved to North County in the summer of 1966 when I was six years old. Extremely high quality of life and affordable too. Now San Diego is among the most expensive places to live in the US. The beach town I grew up in and spent my young adulthood and where my elderly mother still lives thanks to a 1970s property tax law is a shadow of its former self - the beautiful homes replaced by ugly multi-million dollar monstrosities and so many of the huge, beautiful trees cut down, including Torrey Pines, thanks to the property investors who bought out the town. The high dollar property owners think that they are living the good life and have no clue that the middle-class plebes who used to live here had a much, much higher quality of life than they are paying through the nose for now.

I moved back to SD after 15 years away in 2004. I never went into the water. SO different! It's WORLD human population, not just TJ. It's AirBNB. I had to leave again 2012. Mammoth Lakes suffers the same issues as SD now. I left there 2019. Yesterday I saw Las Quatro Milpas was closed by the health department.

Whoever lives in those areas, it would be wise to move as soon as you can to somewhere else not severely polluted
N do your research when you pick a new place to move, cause heat, water, n energy problems are other things people are dealing with as well in other lands
Your health is really important, once your physical health gets injured enough, life becomes way more difficult n death can be way sooner

Awesome we are bringing attention to this, unfortunately as usual things have to get ridiculous before we look to mitigation.
The US used to send contaminants into Mexico look up the Puerco River. Fortunately the Colorado River runs dry.
We also have legacy nuclear waste sitting in the ocean off the coast of California and many US cities, but it's invisible and just giving us cancer.
