Thanks, I was wondering why it wasn't having any effect. I'm trying to add a layer on top of a picture with speakers, so it looks like its vibrating to the music. I probably have to do a green screen around the speaker cone in photo editor then open in shotcut and export with audio, then import again, then add layer on top of original image, then chroma key+audio dance filters...Many steps for something that should be simple. A magnify specified area to audio would be better filter.
Hey, this filter works in conjunction with the connected audio in a video file. Your image that you put on top won't have audio directly within it, so I imagine that's why it's not working. You'd have to do as you described to get it do what you want. Your right, it isn't the easiest filter to use, bit clunky!
I find it really annoying you have to pre-export your video with the audio track inside just to use the filter. Wouldn't that degrade the quality of my video double exporting it?
Yeah its not ideal. In theroy it will degrade (unless you export with lossless quality), but even if you export with standard settings in most cases it wouldn't be noticable.
That's quite dumb to not be able to select an audio source from an other track. If I want to add it on a PNG with transparency it seems impossible to do. Thanks for the Tutorial tho!
What will you use this effect for?
I'll be using this effect for future videos as well as official audio videos which I am currently working on.
@@AVENUENIGHTS nice! Keep me posted on your work!
Thank you so much, I was looking for the proper software and tutorial for this for like 3 hours, and this is just it 🔥
Glad I could help!
Found your video on he SC forum............. nice little feature to know. 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
Great to know you found it helpful! Thanks! :)

Would be awesome if you could set the input to a seperate track, but fair enough I guess
Someting to suggest to the devs perhaps? forum.shotcut.org/c/suggestion/
I didn't think it exporting. I ended up putting the audio track as the first video track and remove the MP3 meta image.
did you get it working?
@@joe_cullen yes, thanks.

Very welcome! Raise your concern in the shotcut forums and they might add it in future patches :)
