Merry Christmas homie, thank you for the kind words! I’ll definitely do a 2k Q&A. In the last one, I used a 15 second clip of a WWE match, and WWE nuked the video. Blocked it worldwide… 15 seconds… of an hour long video lmao. The copyright system for RUclips is insanity…
Really enjoyed watching/ listening to this one Brandon. It was definitely a B tier year for you! I know we already talked about the fact you forgot Silent Hill 2 remake off your list and I see a couple other people mentioned it as well. Really surprised by Indiana Jones because that's been nowhere on my radar at all to play, but hearing you talk so highly about it makes me want to play it along with everything in the a tier. I heard you talk about dungeons of Hindenburg a bit early in the year so that one doesn't really surprise me. I think I'm surprised how far down the list Alone in the Dark is as well as Final Fantasy 7 rebirth. I thought about doing a tier list this year as well for all the games I beat, but with us doing our analytics it's kind of a one or the other thing for me. I'm going to have to bring this up on my PC, pause it and start writing some things down 😊
Dude, yall gotta check out Indy. It should be getting a ps5 physical release next year, and I’d assume it’ll be complete on disc, with all the content. It’s one of the most fun games I’ve played in years. I know you don’t dig first person games typically. There was a recent leak of it running in third person tho, so I hope they’re lining that up for the release next year. I like Rebirth a lot, I just really didn’t like the open world. I’m rarely a fan of fantasy open worlds… I don’t know why that is, but it’s such an unappealing setting to me lol. But the combat & story in Rebirth are incredible
I'm still on the fence on my top 10 games I've played this year, but im close. Your variety of games is unmatched bro you definitely got some gems in there that I can't wait to try. Was kind of meh on a first person indiana Jones game but im definitely gonna try it out next year. 💪🏾 another solid video.
Dude I was in the same boat, I thought it was so stupid to make a game about an iconic character & not be able to see him lol. I was blown away by how good it was
Really enjoy the long video and commentary on so many diverse games. Most played game: World of Warships Legends Most underrated game: Fate/Samurai Remnant Biggest disappointment: College Football Worst experience: Black Myth Wukong (not the game’s fault: just realized quickly that I was burnt out on hard/stressful games like that). GotY: Stellar Blade (thank you easy mode lol) A/S tier Stellar Blade, Balatro, World of Warships Legends (just got heavy into that this year), Indiana Jones, EA WRC, Chivalry 2, Unicorn Overlord, Mario Wonder, Space Marine 2, Walkabout MiniGolf (PSVR2), RE: Village (PSVR2), and GT7 (PSVR2), Fate/Samurai Remnant. I’m just dabbling in Infinite Wealth, Silent Hill 2, Metaphor, Sand Land, and Rise of the Ronin, but there are so many games to play, I don’t know when I’ll get heavy into them. Games that just didn’t click this year: College Football (the defensive AI is broken, as is some of dynasty), NBA 2K 25 (passing hasn’t changed in years and my middle school players can pass to the post better than these guys), Alan Wake 2, Hellblade 2, Metal Slug Tactics, Horizon: Forbidden West, Lords of the Fallen.
Dude are you a basketball coach? That’s so sick lol. People sleep on how good Stellar Blade actually is. The conversation around the game is rarely ever about the actual gameplay, which is so unfortunate , when the game is that good. I hope with CFB 26 some improvements are made across the board. I think there’s really strong bones on that game, but it needs a lot of work.
@ yeah I’m a dozen years into coaching, mostly basketball and baseball. Playing and coaching for my whole life makes me too critical of sports games, probably.
Great video man! (Long comment feel free to ignore 👍🏼) I do think some of the negativity you see people get “internet points” for is because the general public and consumers are happy to hear our voice/opinions be made louder. We hate seeing IGN giving everything a 7 or 8 and not telling the big companies their 12th entry into a mediocre series for an easy cash grab is sickening. We want them to take a chance at failure because that’s the only way you get Baldurs Gate 3 or even on the movie side stuff like Parasite and Everything Everywhere All at Once. Each one of those are so incredibly beloved by fans and they had massive potential to flop. We want to see creators create their vision and not just try to play it safe with a known IP + open world + check the DEI boxes. Which if actual energy is focused there (DEI) then it takes away from energy into the most compelling possible additions to the game where diversity then often comes naturally (BG3). In general cookie cutter movies and games are exhausting. If you cut the same cookie we’ve eaten 25 times then we will be quick to let you know this one is over cooked. If it’s a new cookie we’ve never seen before maybe we give it more grace because it’s interesting/fun just being new.
That’s the weird thing about Outlaws tho, it’s doing a lot of unique things, it’s kind of a course correction on the whole Ubisoft open world bloat template, there’s zero DEI or current day political content in there at all… I just don’t really understand the backlash for that game at all lol. But for the people who actually played it, and have criticisms of the game, I’m always happy to hear that out… because it’s not perfect, at all. I have plenty of complaints about the stealth, the story, etc… Appreciate you tuning in homie!
@ I’ve not experienced it yet so I have no critiques. Just commenting on the overall negativity in the gaming industry right now. Glad to hear Ubisoft is course correcting some! The potential in that studio is off the charts if they can get more specific in their vision and right better stories. Keep up the great work!
Great rankings dude! honestly i still need to catch up on some games for my top 10 list to be fully defined, so i wont go super in depth with my personal rankings here but i thought i would share them . S+ Tier: Minds Beneath Us, Until Then, Yakuza Infinite Wealth, Astrobot S Tier: Wukong, Dragon Age Veilguard, Metaphor A Tier: Persona 3 Reloaded, Esports Godfather, Elden Ring Erdtree B Tier: The Rise of the Golden Idol, Black ops 6, Marvel Rivals, Tactical Breach Wizards, Helldivers 2, Suzerain Rizia C Tier: Dead Rising Remaster, Ara History Untold, Pathfinder a dance of masks, Frostpunk 2 D Tier: Starfield Shattered Space,
Great list homie. I still need to pickup that Dead Rising remaster, it totally slipped my mind. I’m going to do a post where I ask yall for your GOTY at the end of the year, and then ima add up y’all’s votes, to form the community top 5 or maybe even top 10, if we get enough votes!
I hear you, appreciate the feedback. GOTY season will likely always be longer form content, I can prolly find a way to clip some stuff out from these long form videos. But I definitely do plan to get back to a mix of long form & shorter form stuff in 2025.
I’d love to see a video of your opinions on all the best performance winners at the game awards and potentially the BAFTA awards. I’m interested to hear your opinion on if they should’ve won in a certain year, or if not who do you think should’ve won instead🤔
I’m not sure I could make a full video about it right now, we have like 5 year end videos already recorded & edited… I’m trying my best not to drown yall with daily 2+ hour videos lol. but I’ll give you my top 5 favorite performances of the year 1. Isabella Inchbald as Indika 2. Silas Carson as the devil in Indika 3. Melina Jurgens as Senua in Hellblade 2 4. John Eric Bentley as Barrett in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth 5. Luke Roberts as James in Silent Hill 2
I am guessing you like charts....I think almost all recent videos there has been a chart :)....do you rank the movies you watch each month, or your weekly meals......just having a dig, I still find your commentary interesting enough to watch from beginning to end (and sometimes pick up a new game now and then from your recommendations)...and agree with Bannishers, probably top 5 for me this year...just ashame it didnt hit the mark for a larger audience
I do love lists, and rankings man lol. More so rankings than lists… but kinda one and the same. I wish I had enough movies watched this year to do a movie ranking, I could prolly count the number of movies I watched this year on one hand lol. Appreciate the kind words homie, hope you’re having a happy holiday season!
Hell yeah, I guess Indy secured the GoTY for 2024! The game looks super fun, I have yet to check it out but I will as soon as it drops on PS5. I'm hyped for it because I loved all 3 of the BJ Blaskovich Wolfenstein games, so I guess I'm just a big fan of Machinegame Works. I loved the rest of the list as well and agree this year seems like a tough year to rank, as there were very few slam dunks, many games were stellar in some areas and mediocre in others. For me personally though Astro Bot was my GoTY. I'm biased because 3D platformers were what turned me into a lover of video games and is what I grew up on in the late 90s and early 00s when those games dominated the landscape. But Astro was easily one of the best 3D platformers I've ever played and it's nice to see games that are more colorful, whimsical, and just pure joy as opposed to the darker, more mature, and often times open world games that AAA game developers seem to make in much higher quantity nowadays. Runner ups for me after Astro would be Silent Hill 2, Still Wakes the Deep, Dragon Age the Veilguard, and Black Myth Wukong. Also you talking about Indika so much convinced me to buy the game, it hasn't arrived yet, but I'm really interested to play it. It seems very odd and unique, which I think should make it a fun time for me.
It’s hard to argue that Astro isn’t worthy of GOTY, very few games were as consistently pleasant as Astro this year. Indy is fantastic man, if you dig Deus Ex or Dishonored, but want a more action adventure chill feel to those games, then I think you’ll love Indy. Hope you end up digging Indika!
MY GOTY was another crabs treasure. 9.75/10 Just utterly amazing. Beat it on game pass. Beat it again on steam. Just freaking aaaaamazin'! Aggro Crab did great!
Decent year for games. My favs were Astro Bot, Silent Hill 2 and Prince of Persia, but also played FF VII, Space Marine, Stellar Blade, Wukong, Planet of Lana, Pepper Grinder, Little Kitty Big City, and the Elden Ring dlc Still have to play Banishers*, Indy**, Hellblade 2**, Nine Sols, Neva*, Crypt Custodian, Zelda*, Symphonia * already have ** waiting for PS5 versions
I can’t believe I forgot to include SH2R here… that’s an all time blunder on my part lol. Legit one of my top 5 games of the year. You gotta let me know what you think of Indy next year man. Really hope more people check that game out, I’d love to see Machine Games take another crack at it. Hope you’re well homie, happy holidays to you & yours!
Absolutely. I always worry about being a prisoner of the moment, or recency bias…. But this is the rare exception where I was just like 1000% certain that it was my GOTY after finishing it
I don’t live steam currently. My internet is about as bad as it gets lol. My homie Loon, who I do the podcast with is working on getting a new computer & stuff setup, so hopefully I’ll be able to live stream with him hosting it next year, and that should solve a lot of the technical issues
@@tatedenbeste4007I’m way out in the sticks man. My only providers are Viasat & Verizon LTE lmao. I’m debating on putting the money down for Starlink tho… it’s not great, but 100mbps download, and around 10-15 upload would be more than double my current speeds
Ahhh man you can’t be putting Veilguard in B they won’t pay us anymore 😂😉 Man what an incredible year this has been, can’t wait for next year Avowed cannot come out quick enough!!! Hope everyone gets tonnes of gaming done over the holidays and enjoy yourselves 😁
I just can’t understand how dragon age veilgaurd has good combat. It’s my biggest issue with the game. There is no enemy variety, spongy bosses, and poor boss design where it’s always just a boss hiding after taking some damage and sending mobs. And yea the companions are AWFUL Can’t argue with Indiana jones tho. What a complete masterpiece
I never ran into any encounters where the boss would hide. Usually there isn’t enough space for them to go hide… which I could understand that complaint, of it just being battle arenas.
So P3R I’m right there with you but I didn’t play enough of SMT to really gauge a deep opinion. Metaphor was really good in parts but suffered from an extremely drawn out ending something I do feel Atlus sometimes struggles with. However I did really enjoy Metaphor overall it probably ranks 3rd or fourth in my all time favs from Atlus though. 😁
@@UnnecessaryRambling I just saw a bunch of trailers and reviews from people I'm usually aligned with when it comes to game preferences. Didn't wanna spend the money or time

Thanks for all the content this year Brandon. You’re the man and always bring a smile when I see a new video pop up. Merry Christmas.
