So the perspective actually ends up adding to many scenarios as being so close in tombs and being able to inspect objects via your hands definitely gives a lot more of an edge than Uncharted has. However the combat for me (and this is only my perspective as Brandon enjoyed the combat) I couldn’t click with and enjoy, I think if they make a sequel to this that would be one thing I’d change. The semi open world nature also didn’t do much for me but I can see the appeal and it at least makes some sense for the game to be structured in that manner. Other than those two gripes it’s a fantastic game overall. Space Marine 2 is phenomenal but with them splashing budget so hard it did mean that Exterminatus mode was cut (supposedly adding it this year) so because of that it fell down a few places for me but both entries in Space Marine have been really good. Definitely worth grabbing on a sale for sure 🫡

So this was my list and it only contained games I’ve played. As I’m solely anchored in Xbox’s ecosystem games such as Black Myth, FF7 Rebirth and SH2 aren’t here as I didn’t personally play them. I can without a doubt say I’d love all three though and if they land on Xbox for me this year I’m free to add them to this years list as they would be considered new releases for me as I’ve not touched them 🫡

@ Yeah that’s the way things go sometimes, I played plenty of great new games and chunked off a huge amount of my backlog so I’m not too worried. The titles I missed will move over to Xbox it’s just a matter of when than if.

Yeah for me Indiana Jones was fun but as a huuuuge DA fan even with the amount of wobbles the game had it’s still my preference. I hope the writing improves moving forward as they seem to have worked out the gameplay side of things. Did Indy make your top 5 for last year then?

@ yep it did. Ironically enough I am a huge DA fan and that’s part of what made me hate veilgaurd so much. I just don’t see literally any dragon age DNA in Veilgaurd

@@alex1212456 Yeah that’s fair and I can see that from a perspective for sure. I think it was the fact I got to explore Tevinter and Weisshaupt stuff like that that kept me hooked. It’s by no means perfect for sure but it does have a few high points. If we can get a sequel in a timely manner I’d actually like them to scale the stakes back a bit. Not every story needs to be if you don’t succeed the world will end. Would be cool to see the aftermath of all of our characters actions both the Inqusitor and Rook then have a story built around fixing the world as it were. Building it back up piece by piece and as people would be desperate would mean they could pit human conflicts on that and it feel more alive and lived in. As I think many of the plot points also lacked a level of desperation that we saw a lot of in Origins. Loghain wasn’t entirely evil he had a bad hand dealt to him and did what he felt was the best for the bigger picture. I’m going to stop myself from spiralling further 😂 But you get the picture I’m sure, the stakes were said to be high in Veilguard but never felt it if that makes sense.

I’ve been wondering if ppl just misreported on that, and got confused with the Wu-Chang Fallen Feathers game lol

Just to clarify though: this game is a remaster and not a remake. A remake is a 'from-the-ground-up' recreation of the game. Think something like the Silent Hill 2 remake or the Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door game for Switch. Remasters are like this game and Tomb Raider 1 to 3 as you mentioned. But ya, I probably wouldn't enjoy the Tomb Raider remasters then. Sometimes it's better to just play the OG game. Anyways, thanks for watching! Enjoy your day!

@@imreszabo4256 See that’s the weird thing isn’t it. As achievement/trophy hunters people would expect our lists to be filled with our favourite games only being the 100%s. For me it’s 80% what the list is and maybe 20% the game itself. As I’ve done plenty of games where they wouldn’t rate in my top 100 of all time 😂 Then there’s games like say Pathfinder Kingmaker and WOTR where I would love to be one of the people to claim that 100% but the effort and stress required isn’t worth it for me personally. As that’s the dividing bridge as they are some of my favourite games but those lists are brutal. So that’s my thought process on it all. Now ranking my top 5 100%s of all time would be this. 1. Ring of Pain- in my opinion this is the closest game that I would argue is perfect. The way it’s designed allows you to flow so easily when you have the knowledge of the systems and it’s so unique as a card game. 2. Joint second would be Pillars 1&2- Simply amazing CRPGs and the list are actually enjoyable to get through. A gripe I have with RPGs is when they tie a trophy to skills or weapons and having to use them in a specific way. Pillars just focuses on narrative content and I love it for its lists just phenomenal. 3. A cheat technically here but prior to Repentance I had 100% The Binding of Isaac Rebirth, Afterbirth and Afterbirth+- Such simplicity hides nauseating depth and replay ability. One of the greatest roguelikes ever made and an absolute joy. (Minus the speed challenge that can go to the deepest depths of the Stygian pits!!) 4. Mafia Definitive Edition- Having loved 2 and not really gelling with three I’m glad that the DE feels so close to 2. The list although contained grind I don’t mind a little grind from time to time. It almost felt like the game earned the right to ask that of me after giving me simply one of the greatest mafia stories gaming has ever seen. 5. Control- This was the moment I realised how much I value songs in games and ever since have added songs to a playlist on YT to keep track of. The game from top to bottom from a list side was simply magnificent along with it being a stellar game. But right now I’m sitting at 123 total 100%s so whittling that down to five was so damn hard and could easily change over time 😂 I plan on doing a profile review this year of myself and maybe Brandon over on my channel. When that does happen I may even reach out to people to see if they’d like to have theirs looked at. I really like Crpgs and I finished Pillars 1 DLCs as well, on Xbox the whole achievement was broken, basically you have to do the majority in ONE SITTING to unlock, which is crazy! @ Yep I did it on Xbox as well, you’re referring to the kill count one I’m sure. I had to leave my console running for three days 😂 Yeah very proud of Isaac maybe one day I go and do the DLC but I don’t enjoy the tainted characters. 😁

First half of 2025 for Doom would make sense to me. We actually saw quite a bit of gameplay in that first reveal. I hope the big surprise reveal is a holy shit moment,.. I’m not holding my breath, because I know they typically save those for the showcase… but idk, I think Hi Fi Rush, and Indy would qualify as holy shit worthy, in past years.

Avowed releases next month and outer worlds 2 got announced for 2025 last month so just because it isnt here doesnt mean it wont release this year. Some very interesting picks here. The RE games, BG3, Elden Ring & Yakuza I can totally see. I’d be shocked if S2 could run Monster Hunter Wilds or Indy, I hope so tho.

That’s actually probably a stronger option than RDR2, Elden Ring appears a bit more “next gen” even tho it’s also available on last gen consoles. But that would be a strong optical move for Nintendo
