As for the first guy spraying on the mountain, that is a gunnite/shot crete hose. The finish on the mountain is similar to an in-ground pool. It’s actually a cross between the stucco on your house, and a pool. First, they bend rebar to create the general contour of the rock, then they create finer detail with wire mesh (expanded metal lath), then they apply the plaster.
Plaster, whether it is stucco or pool plaster, is Portland cement (concrete) with just fine aggregate (sand) and no rock. In this case it looks like a modified three-coat system, with a first or “scratch coat”, then a brown coat, and then the finish coat. The scratch was probably hand-troweled, and now they are applying the “brown coat” via the hose. There may or may not be a color coat afterwards. Color coats are very thin, and as their name implies, only really create the final texture and color of the plaster. On the mountain, since it’s supposed to be rock, they could very well just use the brown coat as the final coat and come back and simply apply paint.
The second guy was pressure washing.

Great update! In reference to the WDW updates, the Poly has essentially been ruined, as well as the Seven Seas Lagoon vista. That Poly/DVC Tower completely destroys not only the Polynesian Village Resort feel, but also the views around the lagoon. It appears as though Disney is building a hospital, not a resort addition. So sad. It was bad enough when the poorly designed Pizza Huts were built over the water, but the new tower has just added insult to injury. So much care was taken when designing the WDW property that the original designers that worked on the resort area must be livid. Absolutely no long term thinking.

The small tube that is spraying is a pressure washer cleaning stuff. The “earth mover” is a lodrill from Malcolm used for drilling foundations in tight access areas. The big tubing being sprayed is fire proofing which is being sprayed around the metal framing, which is being installed by Raymond.

The wooden slats (1x4’s) under the plastic are just there to hold the plastic up and provide support so rain water sheds off and doesn’t collect and puddle on the plastic.
And yes, that is all permanent structural steel. Not only is it galvanized, but it’s also been welded in place.

The breeze block on the front of the new building at Downtown Disney. In the late 1970's when there was a 2 storey shopping building just before the Disneyland Hotel the exterior walls had simular breeze block. The Mark Twain looks at it's best since opening day. @FreshBakedDisney Did you notice how many trees were removed around Haunted Mansion and Magnolia Park? It looks like they kept a couple large trees at the "front" of the park (toward the river) and cleared out all the other shade trees all the way to the train station. I stood on the bridge over Splash Mountain and could see straight past Magnolia Park to a row of buildings in NOS, which would normally be obscured by a thick line of trees.
It's no wonder you have better line of sight from the island now.
Notice too how much sunlight (no shade) is in your footage in the construction area. No more trees. Sad!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure galvanized steel mystery solved?
The angles are different and it might not even be the same area, but compare 11:30 at Disneyland to 27:10 at Walt Disney World. Notice the big stubby fake tree on the right. At Disneyland to the left of the tree you see the steel and below that the old log flume. At Walt Disney World to the left of the tree you see a “rock” wall and can no longer see the flume.
Also, if you look closely at those three planks at Disneyland they appear to be there simply to have something to tie the sheets of plastic to. If this were to be roofed over they would surely use steel.
I saw one guy spraying gunnite and another pressure washing.

Rides and the effect of park with screens and boards is proves the point. The park when work is completed will be repriced and you will find it is for upper income patrons versus guests.
The only hope is a management change at ceo and board of directors. You cannot compare this park to that of Eisner which is tragic.

Too soon for Haunted Mansion elevator shaft to go Vertical. Ride the train and get a Selfie Stick to peek over walls. Might be tagged for 'Not any Removal'

So sad watching them ruin Splash Mountain’s exterior and the Haunted Mansion queue. Disney used to respect their heritage, since then consumed by arrogance and greed thinking they can do better, when in reality they can’t. No one asked for a modern looking Haunted Mansion queue, the entire allure was its age and historical connection to Walt, knowing it’s exactly as originally envisioned. Would anyone vote to tear down Main Street because they could get a bit more efficiency with modern construction? Heck no! Furthermore, no one wants to see Splash Mountain turned into aisle 9 of the Michaels craft store. Meanwhile, Tomorrowland rots half abandoned and broken.

Walt has quite literally said Disneyland will never be complete so long as there’s imagination left in the world. Change is scary sure, but I don’t think it’s fair to criticize these changes before they’ve even gone beyond the demolition phase

I wish they would get rid of the steam punk look on Astro Orbiter.
