I don’t think it’s a shortcoming doing a review from a sample. It’s crazy to buy a full bottle just for a review. As long as you show us a picture of the full bottle so we know what to look for. Keep the samples reviews coming!
I love Opus VII, partly because it is very different from anything else. It's a super spicy fragrance but it isn't sweet like so many other Christmas candle spice scents (which I abor). It reminds me of classic 90's stuff (probably the costus). I get bell peppers in the opening, very much food spices. The comparison to Italian Leather from Memo is fair, but replace the tomato leaves with other sharp greens and remove all traces of vanilla. The drydown is more the classic Amouage amber (similar to Opus VI actually). Divisive definitely, but noteworthy.

I'm a big fan of Amouage, but this one really didn't work for me.
