Hello everyone! Just wanted to address a concern that a decent number of the comments have brought up. Yes, I am aware that there seems to be a large number of winning entries related to V3 compared to the rest. But please be aware that there would almost never be a "fair" or "accurate" way to host polls like these for a niche fandom like Danganronpa. My channel is mostly V3 related so it's to be expected for V3 to win a lot of the categories since I hosted it. Different people inhabit certain communities on the internet. Please don't belittle the opinions of the voters. This poll was done for fun and most of the voters are likely to be my subscribers. It's fine if you disagree with the results, just please remain respectful. Thank you!

Yeah, it makes me sad a lot of people hate Byakuya. His FTEs and development across the games of the series justify and make up for his actions enough. He doesn’t even do that much in DR1. Yeah, tampering with Chihiro’s corpse was messed up, but he didn’t actually kill anyone, and he helped expose a literal serial killer in the group, as well as her methods of killing and how she swaps with Toko, which helped save any of the boys from being potentially killed by her and helped everyone in the long-run when Jack helped with some of the cases.
Byakuya was just being a dick that wanted to win, but it was because of his harsh upbringing that made him that way. He’s self-aware and mature enough to accept when he’s wrong and respect the opposition when he realizes he’s been outmatched, like in Chapter 4. He’s flawed for sure, and it doesn’t justify him being a huge jerk to everyone, but it turns into part of his charm and comedic relief later in the series.
Nagito and Kokichi did much, much worse than anything Byakuya ever did, and they both felt they did what they did for good reason. Byakuya was at least honest that he’s a dick and was open about what his motivations are, and was rational enough to be reasoned with if he was put up against someone smart enough to prove him wrong.
Nagito and Kokichi are incredibly smart but are hardly ever swayed by others because of this, which causes them to be stubborn in their beliefs, snarky, and instill paranoia and distrust among the group. Nagito was partially the reason why Impostor died, because he tried manipulating Teruteru into killing him, which unexpectedly caused Impostor to take the fall. Kokichi sacked off Gonta and was too caught up in his own lies and his own plans to give anyone, including Gonta himself, a genuine picture of what he’s really like. People paint Kokichi to be a saint when really the game makes it clear he’s meant to be an ambiguous character that’s up to interpretation-the embodiment of a lie.
I like Nagito and Kokichi a lot, but I like Byakuya just as much in his own right.

Byakuya is one of the few characters in the first game I actually loved.

Beth the Dark Mage just like they wanted more Komaeda so he has a minor role in the spinoff game and has a standoff with Kamukura as well as involvement in one of the sidestories in the anime. Oh and don’t forget that he got a whole episode dedicated to him where his dreams get shattered. I actually liked that one a lot
