Happy Groundhog Day! We're entering a VERY active weather pattern by the second week of February, with multiple chances for snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Also, severe weather will be possible. And, the Polar Vortex may bring the COLDEST temperatures and wind chills of February by the middle of the month!
Thank you, Hunter! Really appreciate the weather education you give us here! I LOVE the cold so crossing my fingers for that polar vortex hit! Thank you, Punxsutawney Phil!
👍🙏 winter much needed in our sierra’s central. 🙏for snow for all the sierra region. Local are supporting your call for Tuesday and Thursday rain fall for the South Gate of Yosemite area 1.75”+ best we have had this year.
Seriously hoping for more snow in the area I live in. It has been snowing for a few hours now, but it's an occasional flurry. It would snow heavily for around 30 minutes, then snow lightly, and or sprinkles. I hope it continues snowing and that the snow clouds and the atmosphere really cool, because at night were looking at around 25 or 27F. If it continues, which I hope it does, this area of Tacoma, Fife, Puget Sound Washington might finally get snow cover after 2 or 3 years of nothing.
Hey good afternoon to you hunter hope you have a bless 🙏 day today it is supposed to be 76 degrees here in Texarkana Arkansas and Warmer this week happy groundhog day today i don't believe in groundhog day
Good afternoon everyone! Very active possibilities mid-February, but as you say the models can change a lot over time. Thank you Hunter for all your effort & expertise in producing these videos!
Good afternoon, Jeff. Yes, a very active weather pattern with a chance for multiple ice storms and snowstorms through at least the 3rd week of February, and quite likely beyond. Thank you for watching!
I am in Northern Indiana. Every single storm has gone around us. This is crazy. I just wanted one good snow this year and it looks like it won’t happen. Again. Just like last year. Just cold and grey and brown for months. How depressing.
The dynamics look impressive, yes. But the overall storm setup still remains uncertain. A low-end severe weather day with 60 mph winds and quarter-size hail will be possible, especially for Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. Tornado risk should remain very low. I'll keep you updated.
A chance for a wintry mix of rain, snow, sleet, and freezing rain Wednesday evening through Thursday morning. There is some chance for an ice storm in Chicago. I'll keep you updated.
What is it looking like for SW MO on Wednesday evening? I'm a little concerned, but the instability doesn't look to big as far as I am seeing since it is under the bar is under 1000.
Further east, into Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky there could be a few severe thunderstorms but it's not a guarantee. It just depends on how all of the dynamics come together later in the week.

Did the NFL rig the groundhog too?
The Michigan groundhog predicted an early spring. Plus 2 weeks ago my big brother seen a hummingbird which is a sign of an early spring.
Or a stranded hummingbird😢
Yeah I'm not surprised
A hummingbird in Michigan 2 weeks ago? I hope ur right on early spring I'm in Indiana 🤞
@@angelrosehedges3733 Those do occur. But I want more snow anyway.
Spring will
Start end of February but until
Then let it snow we’re calling for a ton of snow
Good afternoon the weatherman

Upstate NY! St. Lawrence county! Woohoo he mentioned us! Were special!
Happy day! Phil’s prediction doesn’t cause much issue here because we’ve had a really mild winter as it is. We need more snow!

Love that little furry guy.
Ugh weak polar vortex, I hope it doesn't mess with April
It’s uncertain how intense it will be and exactly how long it will last. I’ll keep you updated.
Still thinking severe storms in Ohio with this? The instability and shear/low level winds are pretty impressive for this time of year

Southwestern indiana, how does it look for Wednesday night?
Rain is likely. Severe weather is possible depending on the amount of storm energy there will be that evening. I'll continue to keep you updated.
How's this week looking like in Chicago? 😢
A chance for a wintry mix of rain, snow, sleet, and freezing rain Wednesday evening through Thursday morning. There is some chance for an ice storm in Chicago. I'll keep you updated.
