Brandon, 27, says he's never gone through puberty and despite being 6 foot 3 inches tall, feels he has the appearance of a 12-year-old boy. Brandon's lack of body hair and insignificant genital growth, as well as frequent fatigue lead him to believe he suffers from Kallmann's Syndrome, a condition characterized by delayed or absent puberty and an impaired sense of smell.

My puberty was delayed until I was 16, so at school I felt like this guy, isolated, embarrassed, and without sexual desire. I even thought about the possibility that I had some hormonal imbalance, but thank God everything worked out. Today I am 20 years old and my physical development and testosterone levels are normal.

@@zainab_hashmiii I am not in any way specialist and I don't know much about it, but basically there are people who never have sexual desire towards any gender. They can still have romantic feelings like you do.
But as it seems you are still pretty young so perhaps it is nothing to worry about. It could be that it is normal to go through puberty without sexual desires, honestly I don't know.
(I would assume you still go to school, so if you are brave enough you can ask your school psychologist if you feel like the guestions are too much burden, or talk to family members or other close people to you.)
But yeah keep asking questions and you will be fine, google probably has helpful resources about this too. Also chin up, looking at yourself like you are broken will not be good for your self esteem 😅

As someone that hit puberty in my mid teens I feel for this guy. I was teased and bullied. You really start feeling like a freak.
One big plus about hitting puberty late is you age a lot slower so when all your contemporaries start looking like their parents you still look young & fresh! ☺️
im a late bloomer as well, i started at 16 and now im 20 with only a bit of facial hair (all under my chin/on chin) and a receding hairline!!!! ugh. i had to start HRT caus i had too much estrogen. testosterone really did up my confidence and energy tho, but it's such a pain in the ass to do a shot each week. men who can produce ample amounts of testosterone naturally really have it lucky.

I did eventually in regards to hormone levels but I have several other medical problems that are yet to be addressed.

I was a late bloomer myself so I know how this guy feels. I didn’t hit puberty until I was 16, and even then the changes of puberty happened very slowly in me. It took me till I was 19 to grow a beard when almost every guy in my class had one at 15 or 16, even my cousin who was 2 years younger than me hit puberty before me. I know my life wasn’t as hard as this man’s, but I know the feeling of being bullied by your peers and considered different, the embarassment of meeting younger kids who are taller and look more mature than you..
Hopefully they put him on hormonal therapy and he’s happier with how he looks now

Wow. Thank god he seems to have a strong desire to live because something like this can be devastating. I can't imagine how he feels. I hope they figure out a treatment plan for him.
So much respect and admiration for Brandon. It’s difficult enough to navigate your teen years, but for him to reach out for help knowing that it may come with judgment from others, can’t be underestimated how brave that is.
I think he eventually had hormone therapy, which enabled those processes that he should’ve gone through in his teens, to happen for him. He’s also likely to have maxed out in terms of height now, since his growth plates will have fused.
Other than getting the help he needed, Brandon’s bravery will have helped others going through a similar situation. I wish only the best for him and others like him.😊

elatives have no money, you're pretty much screwed. As far as I know, this guy now got the job, but he has to pay nearly 500 dollars for his testosterone replacement therapy, which is a lot, he's basically working for meds and food. Still, this story is a happy end in my book. Google a kid named: Deamonte Driver, he died at the age of 12 of untreated tooth infection which spread to his brain, totally preventable death, but his family was too poor to afford the treatment at an early stage when problematic tooth needed attention. By the way, it's not uncommon for poor Americans to pull their teeth at home.

+funky3ddy American healthcare is a joke because of how much health professionals expect to get paid. However, there a lot of professionals who love what they do and work at much lower rates in smaller facilities like urgent care and community health centers. My dentist works at a low-cost community health center because he knows how hard it is to get good dental work. It's rewarding to him (and me!) to get high quality work done at a low price for people who can't afford it.

I went through a four year BA in fine arts (age 19 to 23) with a boy whose voice had never changed, who had no facial hair, and who was smaller than any of the girls.
He was such a sweet guy, and never seemed unhappy. I wonder if he ever did end up going through puberty.

He was probably under severe depression, but because of the horrible US healthcare laws he wasn't able to seek medical treatment, unable to get a job to pay for it, so he then was forced to humiliate himself on live television in order for the producers to pay for his healthcare.

My son was misdiagnosed his whole life. He had a tumor on his pituitary gland. He just had the tumor removed at age 36. He has to take a lot of meds.

I wonder why his parents never sent him to the hospital to see if he went through puberty when he was a teenager? He had to just go through all that sad life and crisis looking and sounding like a kid in his 20s.
My father wasn’t in the picture. Mother was normally off with friends doing drugs. I also never had medical insurance after I turned 18.
There’s a hell of a story behind all of it but it just wasn’t a concern at the time.

I’m 17. I’m 18 in 25 days. Believe me, it’s one of the most uncomfortable and embarrassing things a human being (especially for boys) can possibly go through. Even though I’m almost 18, my voice sounds like I’m 11-13 years old. Im like 6’0 tall, but you can tell from a mile away that I’m underdeveloped. I hope puberty hits me hard over the next 2 months before university starts. I really don’t wanna deal with doctors, testosterone injections and all that stuff, as I really don’t want more family or friends to be aware of how bad this issue is for me.
