Just upgraded to a rx6800 from a 980ti with the Starfield bundle. This thing keeps so cool and quiet no matter what i throw at it. Coming from my 980ti it's a huge improvement not hearing my gpu sound like a vacuum cleaner.

The biggest takeaway from this is that it's patently insane how well the 6700XT holds up to this day, at least as far as 1080p is concerned. It's a two-and-a-half years old mid-range card, and it's still competitive a whole generation later, and (regional supply peculiarities notwithstanding) probably the most cost-effective card on the market too. Considering how it was considered to be a bad card when it came out (because reviewers compared it to the 3070 instead of the 3060Ti, and because it was the peak of the early Raytracing hype, where Nvidia had an obvious advantage), it's a remarkable turnaround.

Thanks for the comparison. Currently, 6700XT goes for 250-300€ on ebay, 6800XT for 400-450€. I just bought a 6800 (non XT) for 340€ incl shipping+1.5y warranty remaining. It all just seems very reasonable compared to the situation 1-2 years ago.
I think this is why the stopped making the rx 6800, i remembered they said they werent making any money on it. Probably cause of how close it is to the XT. It also undervolts and OCs amazingly.

It's so average at everything, and it's totally inoffensive in every way... it doesn't stand out much, or make waves, it's not bad it's not super good either, it's... A graphics card... They should've marketed it as "RX Graphics Card, it runs everything at average performance" and should be aimed at gamers that don't want to get into the technical sht and just want a reliabe graphics card to play games with... or something. xD It's an amazing card, because of that alone... and the 6800 XT is the same, but, better, in almost every way, except power consumption... :O

Sake mine also oc’s very heavy and makes it look easy sweet to god I’m on the sapphire pulse running it at 2400 speed under volt too 900 memory at 2112 cause it’s off 12 . And keep my fan speeds high stays very cool and runs amazing

I found this video very helpful and bought an MSI 6800 after watching it ($399 on Newegg new with Starfield; not sure if they're clearing them out or it's some mistake) Just a couple of suggestions: Can you include the ambient air temperature on the day you benchmark? Can you also include 0.1% lows so we can see stutter issues? Thanks for buying all of these cards and making this video.

The Radeon graphics card can also produce good performance and power for undervolting, so I think you can get a better response if you upload the undervolting version
@@cat81702 you could do that with adrenaline or msi afterburner. the default voltage for my 6800 xt was 1150, i undervolted it to 1060 and gain around 5-10 fps. just try to drop the volt by 5-10 points until the software crash and you'll know where to stop.

I bought a used 6700xt but eventually got a new 6750xt as a replacement from customer service since it had some issues. I honestly couldn't find a noticeable performance difference between 6700xt and 6750xt. Not an expert at OCing but OCing the 6750xt was impossible for me. Seems like 6750xt is just an OCed 6700xt. It has already reached it's head room.
Which issues did you run across if you don't mind me asking? Because all the high temps, high fan rpms and occasional coil whine on certain models make me side more and more with 6800 non xt model. Not to mention identical(often lower) power draw for more performance so idk really I'm still forming my decission

Honestly, the RX 6800 seems like a banger. It's 20-25% faster than the RX 6700XT, while not drawing more than 5% extra power. Prices on local 2nd hand market is also just a bit higher (~7%). I think it's the current best-buy if you have a decent power supply

the XT version consumes Much more power... Which means your electricity bill is more espensive... Does that matter to you? If not, then the XT version is a better choice... But if that DOES matter to you, then the 6800 non-xt is your BFF. :3

However, if you are willing to tinker, the 6800 XT is almost always better quality silicon than the 6800, so the XT will usually take to an undervolt better, and with an underclock it can consume even less power than the 6800 does but will still perform better due to it's additional CUs/ROPs/TMUs. If you aren't one to tinker, and efficiency appeals to you, don't bother spending the $60 more and just grab the 6800. But if you are willing to tinker, and like the idea of having more flexibility to either run your GPU cool and quiet while maintaining good performance, and you also want the option to send power consumption and clockspeed to the moon, IMO that extra $60 is worth it for the XT.
@@danieltee1710 The main difference will be cooling, and concerning cooling they are very comparable models. However, Sapphire's cooler, and their thermal paste is slightly better than MSI's, but Sapphires paste also has a tendency to migrate, which can make the thermals worse on the Sapphire card over a longer time period. This means that if you're willing to repaste the card, the Pulse's cooling solution is slightly better than MSI's. However, if you'd just like to slot the card into your system, and not worry about maintenance, the MSI card will likely be the better candidate for that. But, really, no complaints about either model, just bearing in mind they are both entry level 6800 XT's and won't quite reach the maximum performance levels of the premium aircooled cards like the Sapphire Nitro+ or PowerColor Red Devil.
Yeah that can't be right, 6000 series power draw measurements seem different across vendors and date of release etc. Often it's the GPU power being reported, which is strange because we are used to see total board power (TBP). The board (voltage controllers and memory) usually accounts for an extra 100 watts you don't see reported, so that rx6800 probably uses about 280 watts. But it seems some other models, like the 6750xt or newer 6700xt modals do report total board power, so this is why an 'obviously more powerful' videocard draws seemingly "less" power. A very dubious take by AMD in my view, because it looked like the cards were more efficient compared to nVidia 30 series while they weren't. Now most of us in the know understand this difference, but when we see benchmarks like this I often see people come up with wrong conclusions because it's simply not all that obvious, there's no mention of it anywhere, also no indication by Riva statistics server on the matter, so we simply have to guess. This one is quite easy though because we know the more powerful cards of the same brand and era will always use more power.
only in 4 k resolution alot of cpus are the same.. 1440p 7800x3d is in lead prob about 10% than 13700k. ofc depends on game but overall 7800x3d best for gaming

Hello, I have a nagging doubt, I need to replace my old 1060. I'm specifically undecided on these 3 models: Gigabyte 6700XT Eagle at 377€, XFX Speedster QICK319 Radeon RX 6750XT at 379€ (Starfield bundle), MSI Radeon RX 6750 XT Gaming X Trio 12G (+Starfield) at 427.79€. Which one should I get? With the budget, I wanted to stay under 400€, but I would still get Starfield, just not on day one. The XFX model has a good price, but I'm not familiar with the brand, is it reliable? I've read that the Gigabyte one is quiet, doesn't have coil whine, and doesn't overheat, which is also important to me. Please help.

After this video I am going to upgrade my 6750XT to a 6800 cause I decided to play on 2k now. Got my 6750XT for 330€ and now it's 400€ new. Found a 6800 on eBay for around 380€ (4weeks old) and will sell my 6750XT for around 340€ or even more I hope. So 50€ more for much more performance and less Power consumption sound's kinda legit 😊
You get a card with slightly worse performance (more inconsistencies in the framerate), because of them having LESS computing cores than the previous generation... But hey, you get RDNA3 and frame-generation technology, which artificially doubles your FPS, at the cost of doubling or tripling your input delay! :D Amazing deal, right? lol! No but for real, it's great for immersive games and single-player experiences maybe, but it's the worst card, ever, for competitive gaming... So keep that in mind.
My power color red devil RX 6800XT is an undervolting + overclocking beast ASIC score of 87.1 currently holding the highest score in time spy paired with the R5 5600X3D I picked it up used on eBay for just under $300 shipped well actually I won the bid @ $395 which came out to $443 but when it arrived the fan plug was cut off and missing and the fan header plug on the PCB was pulled up and broken so I contacted the seller and said I will take a risk for $150. refund which came out to a final price after tax and shipping of $280 I salvaged the fan header from an old broken parts GPU and ordered a replacement fan for $15 on eBay which I only used for the wire harness that I re soldered on to the stock fan because the one I got was a cheap pirated replacement now it's good as new holds up against the RTX 4070TI runs cool and quiet and looks sick in my build

The 6800 is more efficient than the 6700 XT. Also, if at some point you care less about the efficiency, the 6800 also gives an option of using More Power Tool and overclocking it, which can extract upwards of 14-18% more performance out of it, getting it very close to or exceeding the 6800 XT's performance if you get a good sample of silicon. With the 6700 XT you'll be lucky if you get 6-8% more performance with an overclock.
that's weird, it's supposed to be the coldest card out of all of them, as shown in this video. It's likely you got unlucky with your card and the die doesn't have proper contact with the radiator, or perhaps you just have bad airflow through your PC?

Lmao... Yes and no... it's complicated, but, basically.. 99% is the same as 100%, the difference between them is literally just small variations in powerflow, which doesn't actually affect performance, just affects how the computer measures itself, internally.
Wrong. using a 7800x3D wont magically give these GPUs a boost in performance. The CPU is just simply maximizing the capabilities these card already have. using a mid range cpu like a 5600x will get you the same performance as long as the GPU usage is the same.
the 6800XT is essentially just an overclocked version of the 6800... So if you buy the 6800, you can overclock it, or undervolt it as you please, to... essentially customize your experience. the 6800XT does not overclock well at all, you can only undervolt it.... Which is basically the same thing really, so.. it doesn't really matter which one you get, honestly. xD Go with whatever is cheaper! Where i live, the XT is actually cheaper than the non-xt, lmao.

Nah don’t worry about this. As of now, I can confirm that this gpu gets a consistent frame rate of 60fps or more in any game at 1440p, some games like the last of us might need to a change in the graphics settings for good fps but don’t play that unoptimised trash. This gpu is currently the best gpu for high refresh rate 1440p gaming, I can confirm this as I have this gpu too!

Don't think too much about it. Go for 6700XT it will you give good fps at 1440p until next gen. Remember, that ultra setting is dumb, you should play games lower than ultra. There's no changes at all and you save your fps at the same time.

I have a second hand 6800xt, it's a phenomenal card. I played cod mw2, gta, red dead at 1440p high-ultra setting and got consistently above 110fps (with the exception of red dead, i got 80-100fps) and this is without optimizing and overclocking anything. One thing I would mention is that the card has a tendency to heat up and so i use a custom gpu fan curve from the amd software and keep the fans running at 1000 to 1600 rpm while gaming to keep the temperature in the 60 range. I absolutely love the card

Definately not a mistake (pricing wise). You can find a used 6800xt for around 375-400 so a 6800 new for 400 is about normal.

Which driver version did you use? Mine using 6700xt (23.7.1) keep stutter and drop fps while playing GOW

Its for all 7000 series gpu. Amd addressed the issue where 6000 series only report chip wattage. Nvidia does report board wattage.

hi im torn between 6800 amd 6800 xt, the 6800xt costs 60$ more, is it worth it to go for the 6800xt or should i settle with the 6800? thank you in advance.
the XT version consumes Much more power... Which means your electricity bill is more espensive... Does that matter to you? If not, then the XT version is a better choice... But if that DOES matter to you, then the 6800 non-xt is your BFF. :3
@@MyouKyuubi If you plan to run both cards stock, this is accurate. However, if you are willing to tinker, the 6800 XT is almost always better quality silicon than the 6800, so the XT will usually take to an undervolt better, and with an underclock it can consume even less power than the 6800 does but will still perform better due to it's additional CUs/ROPs/TMUs. If you aren't one to tinker, and efficiency appeals to you, don't bother spending the $60 more and just grab the 6800. But if you are willing to tinker, and like the idea of having more flexibility to either run your GPU cool and quiet while maintaining good performance, and you also want the option to send power consumption and clockspeed to the moon, IMO that extra $60 is worth it for the XT.

@@danieltee1710 The main difference will be cooling, and concerning cooling they are very comparable models. However, Sapphire's cooler, and their thermal paste is slightly better than MSI's, but Sapphires paste also has a tendency to migrate, which can make the thermals worse on the Sapphire card over a longer time period.
This means that if you're willing to repaste the card, the Pulse's cooling solution is slightly better than MSI's.
However, if you'd just like to slot the card into your system, and not worry about maintenance, the MSI card will likely be the better candidate for that.
But, really, no complaints about either model, just bearing in mind they are both entry level 6800 XT's and won't quite reach the maximum performance levels of the premium aircooled cards like the Sapphire Nitro+ or PowerColor Red Devil.

Yeah that can't be right, 6000 series power draw measurements seem different across vendors and date of release etc. Often it's the GPU power being reported, which is strange because we are used to see total board power (TBP). The board (voltage controllers and memory) usually accounts for an extra 100 watts you don't see reported, so that rx6800 probably uses about 280 watts. But it seems some other models, like the 6750xt or newer 6700xt modals do report total board power, so this is why an 'obviously more powerful' videocard draws seemingly "less" power. A very dubious take by AMD in my view, because it looked like the cards were more efficient compared to nVidia 30 series while they weren't. Now most of us in the know understand this difference, but when we see benchmarks like this I often see people come up with wrong conclusions because it's simply not all that obvious, there's no mention of it anywhere, also no indication by Riva statistics server on the matter, so we simply have to guess. This one is quite easy though because we know the more powerful cards of the same brand and era will always use more power.
If you had 13700k instead of 7800x3d. Would the the results be similar? Does the 7800x3d lead in fps dissapear at 1440p if your not using a 4090?
only in 4 k resolution alot of cpus are the same.. 1440p 7800x3d is in lead prob about 10% than 13700k. ofc depends on game but overall 7800x3d best for gaming
i have the 6800 since graphic card are so darn expensive in canada i went with the non xt version and shed more than 200$ Got it for 589$ and all xt were over atleast around 750$ and this was recently.

Hello, I have a nagging doubt, I need to replace my old 1060. I'm specifically undecided on these 3 models: Gigabyte 6700XT Eagle at 377€, XFX Speedster QICK319 Radeon RX 6750XT at 379€ (Starfield bundle), MSI Radeon RX 6750 XT Gaming X Trio 12G (+Starfield) at 427.79€. Which one should I get? With the budget, I wanted to stay under 400€, but I would still get Starfield, just not on day one. The XFX model has a good price, but I'm not familiar with the brand, is it reliable? I've read that the Gigabyte one is quiet, doesn't have coil whine, and doesn't overheat, which is also important to me. Please help.
XFX is a solid brand, go for it. but im curious does gigabyte not offer the starfield bundle on their items? cause i got a copy of starfield from my gigabyte 6750xt purchase.

After this video I am going to upgrade my 6750XT to a 6800 cause I decided to play on 2k now. Got my 6750XT for 330€ and now it's 400€ new. Found a 6800 on eBay for around 380€ (4weeks old) and will sell my 6750XT for around 340€ or even more I hope. So 50€ more for much more performance and less Power consumption sound's kinda legit 😊

You get a card with slightly worse performance (more inconsistencies in the framerate), because of them having LESS computing cores than the previous generation... But hey, you get RDNA3 and frame-generation technology, which artificially doubles your FPS, at the cost of doubling or tripling your input delay! :D
Amazing deal, right? lol! No but for real, it's great for immersive games and single-player experiences maybe, but it's the worst card, ever, for competitive gaming... So keep that in mind.
My power color red devil RX 6800XT is an undervolting + overclocking beast ASIC score of 87.1 currently holding the highest score in time spy paired with the R5 5600X3D I picked it up used on eBay for just under $300 shipped well actually I won the bid @ $395 which came out to $443 but when it arrived the fan plug was cut off and missing and the fan header plug on the PCB was pulled up and broken so I contacted the seller and said I will take a risk for $150. refund which came out to a final price after tax and shipping of $280 I salvaged the fan header from an old broken parts GPU and ordered a replacement fan for $15 on eBay which I only used for the wire harness that I re soldered on to the stock fan because the one I got was a cheap pirated replacement now it's good as new holds up against the RTX 4070TI runs cool and quiet and looks sick in my build

The 6800 is more efficient than the 6700 XT. Also, if at some point you care less about the efficiency, the 6800 also gives an option of using More Power Tool and overclocking it, which can extract upwards of 14-18% more performance out of it, getting it very close to or exceeding the 6800 XT's performance if you get a good sample of silicon. With the 6700 XT you'll be lucky if you get 6-8% more performance with an overclock.
rx 6800 is the best power-saver, same consumption, but runs colder, and has better performance.
Still the 6750xt uses less power

It's likely you got unlucky with your card and the die doesn't have proper contact with the radiator, or perhaps you just have bad airflow through your PC?

Lmao... Yes and no... it's complicated, but, basically.. 99% is the same as 100%, the difference between them is literally just small variations in powerflow, which doesn't actually affect performance, just affects how the computer measures itself, internally.

Ryzen 7 7800x3D is overkill for these GPUs and they don't showcase the GPU power on moderate CPUs like the Ryzen 5 5600x/5700x.
Wrong. using a 7800x3D wont magically give these GPUs a boost in performance. The CPU is just simply maximizing the capabilities these card already have. using a mid range cpu like a 5600x will get you the same performance as long as the GPU usage is the same.

the 6800xt here performed better at around 10-20% compared to the 6800 depending on the game.

the 6800XT is essentially just an overclocked version of the 6800... So if you buy the 6800, you can overclock it, or undervolt it as you please, to... essentially customize your experience.

Nah don’t worry about this. As of now, I can confirm that this gpu gets a consistent frame rate of 60fps or more in any game at 1440p, some games like the last of us might need to a change in the graphics settings for good fps but don’t play that unoptimised trash. This gpu is currently the best gpu for high refresh rate 1440p gaming, I can confirm this as I have this gpu too!

Don't think too much about it. Go for 6700XT it will you give good fps at 1440p until next gen.
Remember, that ultra setting is dumb, you should play games lower than ultra. There's no changes at all and you save your fps at the same time.

Проходжу так у 2к Кіберпанк, споживання картки 120-140 Вт. 109 фпс у тесті, (без ретрейсингу але на ультрах)

I have a second hand 6800xt, it's a phenomenal card. I played cod mw2, gta, red dead at 1440p high-ultra setting and got consistently above 110fps (with the exception of red dead, i got 80-100fps) and this is without optimizing and overclocking anything. One thing I would mention is that the card has a tendency to heat up and so i use a custom gpu fan curve from the amd software and keep the fans running at 1000 to 1600 rpm while gaming to keep the temperature in the 60 range. I absolutely love the card
