- Monkey Shines is a 90's action-packed platformer with pre-rendered 3D graphics and a fantastic soundtrack, with gameplay that brings to mind the 80's hit game Montezuma's Revenge. It was first released for Macintosh in 1996 or 1997 (depending on the source) and later for Windows in 1998.

So the story goes Bonzo (The ape hero) was out drinking and got so wasted he ended up waking up in a strange land! You've got to help him get home! 😆 This one requires a minimum of 68020 CPU, System 7.1, 640x480, and 5MB free RAM. Fast '040 or any PPC (It's PPC native) if you want the excellent music! 👍

Whenever you opened a Mac game and tracker music started playing you knew you had found something special.
There was a 1988 horror movie that shared the same name as this game about a killer monkey but the game has nothing to do with the movie from what I can tell lol

I'd long forgotten this, even the name didn't ring a bell, but soon as I saw it I knew it well. I remember sweating and screaming over this as a kid in the 90s!!

This isn't one I ever got especially far in either. I think in terms of how the game plays, the biggest influence feels to me to be Manic Miner/Jet Set Willy

So little attention is given to old Mac games on youtube so i'm psyched to find your videos! I'm a newbie, but so far really enjoying a bunch of 68k stuff and impressed with a lot of DOS and pc ports as well...Lemmings, Ultimate Doom and Doom II for example... are better on Mac! Curious, do you run everything off of an SSD?
So cool! I remembered most of that level but I think as a kid I never was able to fully complete it. Pretty tricky!

Is there anything more amateurish looking than shareware Mac game HUDs? Like, not even Flash games had status bars that rough looking. Seeing it fills me with such nostalgia for computer lab in the 90s

What registration code should I use? I've always used nowhereman in the past on old macs I've had but just curious what you used I'm currently trying to run the windows version on a windows 2000 machine
