You looked a little down at the beginning. Lake Garda was something my mum was always saying how wonderful it was. Looks like that campsite could have ruined the visit. The next one was better though. Nice sunset.
We were devastated when the camp site turned out to not be pet friendly. We were tired from a long travel day and got stuck on a bad site for one night. Fornella was absolutely beautiful though and turned everything positive again 😃 Trev

It was a nightmare as you could tell by my early morning chat. By mid afternoon we had settled at Fornella and fortunately we only lost a €12 deposit on the other site. It worked out well in the end 😃🚐 Trev

Yes the vans were packed in and the campers were not friendly. We felt very uncomfortable so left after one night. The dog friendly beach is separate from the family beach so it was great to let them off lead. Sophie is still a bit “clinging” since her eye operation so was happy to remain on lead bless her. The lunchtime walk lasted 4 hours so we were definitely glad to get back for a rest and a cold beer 🍺 😃👍🏻 Trev
Thanks Terry, it’s a fabulous location but the stones on the beach didn’t impress Sophie or Oscar. Since we have been home this week we noticed that Sophie is very much back to her old self but likes more cuddles than ever 😃 Trev

A silly mistake by us all which needed a bit of thought and careful discussion to get right. The Fornella campsite was 5 star and absolutely perfect although not in the most commercial area of Lake Garda, we preferred it 😀🚐 Trev

When it’s hot and we were tired, the windows are left open and voices are loud late at night, it doesn’t make me happy. We soon got out of there and found Fornella which was so much better 😃 Trev

I’m not sure what happened but I was thinking I can’t recall seeing Venice! So I’ve gone back and checked and I think I missed this episode. Obviously there’s a liability when you watch RUclips with wine 🥴. I’m glad things seemed to work out in the end. Thanks for sharing. 😊
We had to skip Venice this time. There simply wasn't enough time to do it properly so Sue and I are saving it for a long weekend special occasion in the future. It meant that we could stay in Garda a little longer and we were already a day late due to my illness in France. Thank you for binge watching our playlist. 😀 Trev

We didn’t find the campsites on the east side very nice. There were quite a few we considered that were full, mainly German tourists but Fornella was a cracking choice and was just our kind of place 😃🚐 Trev

Very stressful at the time as everywhere was full but at least we found somewhere shady fit the night. An alternative could have been the local aire but it was an open car park, very crowded and no shade. Not considered an option in the heat of summer. 😃 Trev

We love Lake Garda and have been many times, we stayed at Camping Fornella In a heat wave many years ago with friend, fortunately we had air conditioning. Lovely site and lovely area, we prefer both east and west from this location but our favourite area is the north and the town of Malcesine. Your can get the slow or fast ferry from nearby Salo, happy holidays.
As soon as I saw the first (the one that was dog friendly) before you mentioned it, my immediate thought was that everyone was packed in like sardines…. Yup people can absolutely ruin a camping area. Some can't just sit and enjoy nature. They feel the need to party late and get loud. Absolutely no consideration for the other guests. I've often said that I feel they have the attitude, I paid for my space I have the right. It's a shame! That's one huge reason we love to boondock. Can stay away from loud peeps. Very much dislike non pet friendly places and try my best to stay away from them altogether. A tractor to pull a boat. That's interesting. Haven't seen that one before lol. Looks like some yummy food! That is one cool waterwheel! Love the beach! It appears pretty empty. That's nice. Bummer. Was hoping to see the church. Great photos! Still seems like a great vacation even with the few hang ups you've had.
We loved this area. There is a church in part 2 I believe definitely some more old buildings 😃 We soon moved on from the crowded noisy campground and Fornella was much more our scene 😃👍🏻🚐 Trev

We actually said that we could park the van and check into a hotel we saw. I was tempted but it was 3 against 1 so another campsite was found 😃 Trev
