Jason Kubitz yes I have always since the first time I changed the oil. I really like it, I used it in my duramax as well with zero problems. It is a little more expensive, but I like the piece of mind knowing I have full synthetic oil. Plus ford recommends the 5w40 for severe duty. In the months since you have had the ez drain on the truck have you had any issues with the little lever that opens the actual valve? Does it locked closed tightly? Have read that some folks have had it open while driving. I have the ez drain in my garage and want to install on my ‘15 Powerstroke. What’s your review of it this far? Thanks in advance for any information.
Man I have had zero problems. I don’t know how it could open automatically, because you don’t just slide it over. You have to push in and then slide so it’s not something that could happen out of the blue. I’m happy with it so far brother. 🇺🇸
Hey Colt, Check out the wix xp oil filters. I used to use all oem filters but Ford seems to have " cheapened " up on their filter media. See what you think of the wix
Just viewed the “muffler delete” video and was wondering if it was or wasn’t done with or without emissions, would it or wouldn’t it make a noticeable difference on fuel economy? Comments on that video have been blocked.

@@COLTSWAY I'm staying with the 5-7k window also. An oil change is the same price as a good Saturday night out and worth the added protection. Great videos for those of us new to the 6.7 btw.
that valve is interesting, but it doesn't drain the oil fast enough to clean out any sludge or debris out of the pan, I've tried with a regular ball valve.
Man I’ve been using it on all my trucks. I have buddies that have over 100,000 miles using one of these...but I do see your point. Thanks for watching, please like and sub! 🇺🇸
Start it up and let it run for a few minutes, gets all the crap suspended in the oil then it drains out. The best way to do it is to take your vehicle for a drive and get it good and hot then all the crap will really come out.
Get a gallon milk jug, cut it so you leave the handle, spin that filter off and let that old nasty filter drop in that milk jug. No fuss no muss. Send it! Also why no fiber gasket on that Fumoto before install? Also maybe write date and mileage on the filter with a permanent marker. Not a know it all, just a thought Brother. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
All good points my man! I’ll have to give the milk jug thing a try!!! Not sure about the fiber gasket, I’ll look into it! And I keep a log of everything with mileage and date in my glove box in a notebook! 🇺🇸
I start with 13 quarts. I fill the filter, it usually takes 1 quart. I then pour the remaining 12 quarts in the engine. Some people don’t fill the filter, I just do. Thanks for watching, please like and subscribe! 🇺🇸
Just out of curiosity, what size tires and what is your wheel offset? The stance you have is basically exactly what I want for mine. I’m guessing you have 35x12.50 with a 0mm offset wheel.
Caleb Mattson man I’ve got a 2.5 ready lift. The stock lariat sport wheels. And running 37x13.50x20. Can’t remember what stock offset is. Please Like and subscribe. 🇺🇸
I have no clue. The manual is wrong though. You can call up the dealer or any oil change place and they will tell you it’s 13. Weird as hell, figured they would of fixed that typo by now. 🇺🇸
my only concern is that valve, If you went off road and you was to run over tall grass or some tree branches it may hit the handle to the valve and drain your oil in the woods! i use the dipstick and a oil change vacuum tank to do my oil i never have to touch the oil drain plug.
Yes that could possibly happen. Would be nice if I had a oil change vacuum that is pretty slick! Thanks for watching, please like and sub. Trying to grow the channel! 🇺🇸
I noticed that the Fumoto does have a "safe guard" (for lack of a better word) to keep the lever from accidentally getting caught on anything. Thats the only advantage I see with the Fumoto.
Hv 18 ram 6.7, install brass fumoto drain valve. Oil filter pain in the butt to align, easier old way. Underneath by oil pan, dealer charging me $600 for oil n fuel filter in California LA. Nope I'll do it myself, done easily.
Man id highly recommend at least breaking the torque on the oil filter before i drill a hole. You're screwed if you drill it then cant get it off. Same goes for all your fill plugs on diffs, tcase etc. Always pull the fill before the drain. Been looking at getting one of these trucks and stumbled across your channel. Very helpful with decision making.
Terry Petersen No I haven’t, I’ve always used T6. Used it in my Duramax as well. I’ve got tons of farming Buddies that use it in $500,000 tractors as well. If I ever got something else, it would be Mobile one. Thanks for watching, and the sub! 🇺🇸
@G Alpha first of all you might want to read and know the difference. First of all Amsoil is the first full synthetic oil and started out in military aircrafts. Second there is plenty of facts and people that used the oil. From 100,000 miles on semi truck with No oil changes. If you take a sample of your oil and send it out to a laboratory. They can and will test your oil for all of the breakdowns in your oil. Military has sent off their oil for years. Amsoil backs their oil up as well.
Hello Colt! I appreciate your videos on your truck. I just picked up 2019 Ford F-250 6.7 power stoke and like many guys been reading everything I can on proper maintenance to take care of it! Well while combing through RUclips videos seeing yours and others I found a drain plug on Scotty Kilmers channel you might consider? I like the “Easy Valve” but was concerned about dirt, stone, or twig getting caught in there and draining my oil out. A guy like me can’t afford to buy about another one of these bastards there to expensive! LOL! So I’ll be trying the other valve called ValvoMax oil drain plug # VM14-1.50/ stainless steel drain plug. Check it out and tell me what you think? PS thanks for information on the oil still researching everything!
rout9291 thanks for the feedback! I will deff look up the valvomax! I have had my truck in some iffy spots and so far everything is fine with my valve, but one can never be to safe! I’m in the same boat as you about not being able to afford to buy another one! This thing gotta last!! Appreciate you watching my videos as well! Do you have any ideas for any new videos? Anything you would want to see or know? 🇺🇸
@@g-man2228 Hello George don't forget to ask Colt to look into install of Amsoil by pass filtration? I did it and I love that my diesel oil stays cleaner? Helps protect that investment! Soot killed the after treatment and cutting back on regent saves you fuel. Ask big daddy Colt to check it out? But will only be a 2 or 3 Latte job?
Anybody running on T6 0w40? Just did my first change to that for upcoming winter. Manitoba is freaking cold. I like that it is a littlebit more affordable than delvac and alot cheaper than amsoil. Amsoil makes alot of noise on how good their oil is
I haven’t, but I’m sure it will be fine! It is cold up there brother! I’m down I’m Louisiana! Thanks for watching, if you haven’t please like and sub! Trying to grow the channel!!
Folks, loosen the filter first before drilling or hammering a hole. It would suck if you didn’t and the filter was improperly installed couldn’t be removed without the tools and abilities required to do so.
Totally understand man! I feel you, really the only reason i like it is because I can hook that hose to it and there is zero mess when I do change the oil. But I’m not gonna lie I was weary at first as well. I read tons of reviews and still wasn’t sure. But it’s like a two way opening. You can’t just pull the lever back you have to push in and up then pull back. So for that to happen buy itself or by something hitting it would be very unlikely. But if it wasn’t for that feature, ain’t no way In hell I’d use it.
@@COLTSWAY ... I see , glad it does have a safety feature. I do understand the mess you are talking about , I just lift my drain box up closer to the drain. I do understand your concern .
Majorly important question for you. Have you checked your manual to make sure that your 5w-40 motor oil fits Ford specs ? The reason I ask is that I was watching a powerstrokehelp.com video and it seems that Ford is rejecting warranty claims if owners are not using a oil that fits their specs and it might be that motorcraft 5w-40 oil is not the same as Rotella 5w-40 oil ! I'm going to call the Ford dealer tomorrow to find out all the specifics.
@@COLTSWAY I jjust got back from that autoparts store and looked at a bottle of Rotella T6. It doesn't meet the specs. Go look at a bottle of Motorcraft oil . Your warranty is voided if you can't show receipts for Motorcraft oil. Welcome to the club.
Don’t buy the valve then. But that’s how you change the oil. Millions of those valves on the road. And hundreds of fleets us them. Mines been fine and I’ve been in the worst Louisiana gumbo you can find. It doesn’t just twist open. You have to push in and then twist. Literally impossible for it to just twist open. There would be millions of lawsuits if that was the case. But I get what your saying. Thanks for watching. 🇺🇸
I'm just going to say you have no idea on oil change stick to the professionals. And that quick drain is a terrible idea. You know where to go 120 Well Rd
No sir not for this guy, I have seen the bad side of those. Also 5w40 on the 6.7 is a must if you have the common lower engine tick alot of 6.7s have swap out to rotella synthetic and 99% of them dont do it. Trust me I'm a Lubeologists.

Yes, thank you Colt. Very helpful.
Anytime. Thanks for watching brother. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
COLTSASTALLION any rubbin? Or did you trim anything?
PowerstrokeJack it rubs when turned about 95% just hits the a arms. Doesn’t really effect my daily driving at all.
When you fill the oil filter does that count towards the 13 quarts or is it 13 quarts plus filling the filter?
I do 13 all together with filter filled. I start with 13 quarts and fill the filter then pour the rest in the motor.
Thanks for watching, please like and subscribe! 🇺🇸
@@COLTSWAY 13 gallons sounds a little excessive..lol…enjoy your channel bro. Hello from Baytown, TX and I just subscribed
Haha!! I would say so!!! I’ll have to go edit that! Thanks brother!
I use Rotella 10w30 also add Hot Shot secret friction reducer.
Nice! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Ford does not recommend using CK-4 oil because of premature wear. Just saying
Curious, why does the manual say 15 but it’s only 13 quarts?
Where did you get the badges?
Tascaparts.com. Look up in the top comment and I pinned the part numbers. 🇺🇸
Hv 18 ram 6.7, install brass fumoto drain valve. Oil filter pain in the butt to align, easier old way. Underneath by oil pan, dealer charging me $600 for oil n fuel filter in California LA. Nope I'll do it myself, done easily.
Yes, always better to do yourself! At least you know it’s done right! Thanks for watching, please like and subscribe!
Suggestion: change title to include ez drain valve.
Awsome video.Thanks
No thank you for watching and the comment, I appreciate it! Hit the like and sub button if you haven’t! Trying to grow the channel!! 🇺🇸
Aren't you afraid a stick or something would catch on that valve and open it up on accident?
Has happened yet and I been in some pretty rough stuff. But I guess it deff could. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
T6 only for me in my 19 Powerstroke too!
Can’t go wrong with it! 🇺🇸
Great video thanks
Thanks for watching brother. I appreciate it! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Have yuh ou ever tried Amsoil?
Terry Petersen No I haven’t, I’ve always used T6. Used it in my Duramax as well. I’ve got tons of farming Buddies that use it in $500,000 tractors as well. If I ever got something else, it would be Mobile one. Thanks for watching, and the sub! 🇺🇸
Yeah I've used T6 rotella in a duramax 2002 as well. Then tried Amsoil. I liked the 25000 mile interval changes.
Can i buy that valve in any local auto part store?
I haven’t ever seen them at a parts store my man.
Transfer case next Colt, unless I missed it!
I need to get on it! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
I’m gonna look into it brother!!! 2-3 latte ain’t bad! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
How’s the plug holding up? Any leaks?
Brian Hunter sitting right where I left her. Not one leak. Makes future changes so easy. Please like and subscribe. 🇺🇸.
Great video
Thanks brother! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Why is the owners manual wrong ?
Miss print. I’m not just making it up. Call the dealership and ask how many quarts it takes. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
@@COLTSWAY wow, that’s crazy. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for watching brother. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
What's the part # for that 90° of the valve?
Nick OBrien I went and added a link in video description for it. Thanks for watching! 🇺🇸
Folks, loosen the filter first before drilling or hammering a hole. It would suck if you didn’t and the filter was improperly installed couldn’t be removed without the tools and abilities required to do so.
I’d be a real man and just pull the filter boss off...nothing would stop me from getting that filter off. Air hammer if required even.
A tip for stuck filters, punch a long screwdriver or rod thru the side of the filter and turn it like a valve handle for leverage.
Has anyone found a good funnel that screws into the top of the oil filler neck on the later model 6.7?
I haven’t, but I’ll keep my eye open!!! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
A kid under u truck may think is a toy faucet..the oil drain
Then u be screw..😆
Hell that could happen!! I’ve seen crazier shit! 😂😂. Thanks for watching brother. If you haven’t, please like and sub. Trying to grow the channel! 🇺🇸
Once you have had schaeffers you'll never go back.
I hear that a lot!! Ima give it a try!! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Rotella t6 I put that shit on everything
😂 That’s right! Thanks for watching brother.
Good video straight to the point great details no bs. Sub going to be doing the delete thanks bud
Thanks brother, I really appreciate it. Helps me a lot! 🇺🇸
I'd rather get my drill dirty than my hands
Very true! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
No way would I use this type of drain plug , just to many things could happen and unscrewing a bolt didn't look hard to me.
Been using it for years now, but I deff see your point!
@@COLTSWAY .... Glad you haven't had a problem but I just wouldn't take a chance on it.
I do understand the mess you are talking about , I just lift my drain
box up closer to the drain.
J M rotella t6 is fine. Millions of power stroke owners are running it. It meets the specs.
J M settle down man. I’ve had warranty work done. You are over reacting. Millions of people run t6. It’s all good.
J M here you go man. It’s on the list. All is good! 🇺🇸

@@COLTSWAY I'm sure that Ford would perform general warranty work but if your truck ever required a total rebuild costing $20k, Ford would deny it.
That looks like a accident in the making.
@@COLTSWAY I was just gonna ask how that "hoo-dus" was workin'...looks like I need to buy one!!
It’s great brother. Not a problem!! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
engine check light is on lol
It’s always on when the key is turned and the trucks not cranked. Gotta try harder then that my man! 😂🇺🇸.
At the 10:46 mark when I crank it, it turns off. Go on and give me a sub now. 😂
I'm just going to say you have no idea on oil change stick to the professionals. And that quick drain is a terrible idea. You know where to go 120 Well Rd
rcbreen if it didn’t cost my whole paycheck I’d go to well rd! Lmao
Entergy money son 💰💰
rcbreen and this drain plug is awesome. Tons of people running it. Go ahead and purchase from my link as well. Thanks.
No sir not for this guy, I have seen the bad side of those. Also 5w40 on the 6.7 is a must if you have the common lower engine tick alot of 6.7s have swap out to rotella synthetic and 99% of them dont do it. Trust me I'm a Lubeologists.
@G Alpha yes I work at one. No not 300 for an oil change of t6, maybe with fuel and air you would be getting close. Depends on year model and make.
