@brucecrawford_17 I don't think they close out this way without season 2 already a go. I think the 180 million everyone keeps saying their not seeing was the budget for two seasons. We shall see.
I still can't believe this show cost 180 million!! It felt like only 50 million with very few characters. The final season of Game of Thrones only cost 98 million & it felt like it cost 300 million!!
I don't know if it will. It's gonna have a more treacherous road than what Ahsoka had to get renewed for a season 2 given not just the toxic fallout but also how it deeply divided the fanbase again.
@@TimLSim this is 100% getting a season 2 because of the canon implications created by this episode. they wrote this in such a way that it cant be ignored and just forgotten because it will make some things in the prequels not make sense, some kind of emotional writing blackmail so to speak.
@@ian-flanagan toxic as in racist, sexist, and elitist behavior towards what is a fine show and not the constructive criticism that is lost in that fallout. @@TimLSim I’ve watched a lot of reviews and haven’t seen a single instance of racism or sexism. Isn’t exaggeration of a problem, thereby misrepresenting a large number of fans, also “toxic”? That’s one of my main reactions to Disney, and why I won’t be supporting them in the near future. In simply business logic, since most fans aren’t watching the show, it’s not worth the massive budget. Attempting to blame fans is the “toxic” behaviour, from my perspective
I havent been bothered by alot that this show has done. It was really silly at first but the last few episodes have been better. This week, when Mae said go to hell when the doors closed. that was so fucking dumb.
I just can't bring myself to care at all about two Jedi killers hugging and crying with one another. This episode just confirms this show's failure is complete.
To be fair, the Jedis did kill their mother and their clan...😂😂😂 But yeah the series didn't show us that what the jedi did was bad or malicious, which is why the emotions they wanted us to feel don't hit... If the jedi were shown as truly evil... Then they are murderer killers
@@b29ak2007 Well, Sol didn't have bad intentions. He thought he was doing the right thing to save Osha and Mae. I don't know, but if Sol was genuinely a bad or grey Jedi instead of a good-hearted Jedi who made a mistake, maybe I would understand Osha killing him. But he was genuinely sorry and no physical threat to hurt her and she straight up strangled him with the Force on the dark side. In cold blood. Yay? Not interested in her tears or woe-is-me or twin reunion after that.
They never gave the audience enough reasons to care about them, both through the writing and the acting... We only know they are the main characters because we were told that in the marketing... I almost felt like Sol was the main character through most of this season, up until the last show... Because we get far more character development with Sol, then most other characters, which is probably not saying much... Even though the performance for Sol did start teetering off post episode 5, and although it was predictable, Sol's death felt more meaningful than Mae and Osha's oddball ending in this last episode... At least for me, but again, that isn't saying much...
@@jeffreyroedel9804 he didn't need to have bad intentions for the twins to be upset. When you harm someone, your intentions or lack of doesn't affect the emotional reaction the hurt person has. The show depicts the jedi as well meaning but flawed, with good ideals, but imperfect (not evil) something that's consistent in star wars media from all eras. It depicts the sith as evil, but correct in their observations of the jedis flaws and weaknesses (again something we see in all of starwars) The protagonist are depicted as neutral at their core, but capable of sliding to either side (something that we haven't seen in mainstream protags, but that's been around in legends forever) The witches were dark side aligned, but not fully evil, just mostly looking out for themselves and willing to play dirty for their collective interests. (Also something we've seen in legends content, same as light side people who arent jedi or pure saints) Sure a good person wouldn't have killed Sol, but this whole show was always building up to the protagonist becoming a bad guy by the end. The emotional beat of the twins ending isnt "yay they did it!" Its supposed to be sad that after all that they still end up apart and with a ton of good people dead because Osha still chose her desire for individual power over her sister. That's like watching episode 3 and saying anakin is a bad protag cuz "why do they expect me to care about him loving padmei after he killed those kids?"
The absolute worst part of the episode was the fact that the show tried to make me care about Osha and Mae even after they killed Sol. Also,, I didn't even buy that Osha would just turn like that over that reason. It was so forced and didn't feel natural at all.
The best part was the fans saying she's not turned to the dark side yet, she's just putting on the helmet--then a few hours later she's killed a Jedi master, changed a lightsaber to red and straight up joined the dark side.
Thats very true, the only 2 people in the show I cared about were Sol and Qimir and then Osha kills Sol and then they expect us to still like her and feel bad for having to leave Mae
@@krislyons2793 delusional viewers. We're not supposed to cheer for osha, that's like saying episode 3 wanted you to cheer for anakin. It's a story about a sith becoming a sith, you're supposed to feel bad for Sol for dying, but still see how his own failures let him there. The twins ending is emotional not because "yay they reunited" it's emotional cuz after all Mae did to find her sister, Osha still chose to leave her behind in pursuit of individual power and training. This show isn't a heroes journey about a jedi, it's a tragedy about someone succumbing to the dark side and the jedi failing a padawan (like revenge of the sith)
1. Fire Leslie Hedland 2. Re-up the show only if Gilroy does the show using the Darth Plageus book as his guide. 3. Opening scene; Plageus kills Osha and Qimir because they discovered the Quortosis deposits and then the regular events of the book pick up
Honestly I don't like Hedland is the problem here, her idea and the broad strokes of the story are quite good. The the direction, writing and editing and short episodes all let the show down. Hedland is a huge fan of the material, even though people act like shes not
The twins, witches, acting (mostly) music choices, green lady, and story kinda just had me eye rolling unfortunately I did not get into this show much.
What is sad, is that this show, while throwing in easter eggs to somehow appeal to older SW fans, means nothing... Because this series was never targeted at old school Star Wars fans in the first place... It's trying to target the next generation, as well as the "modern audience" which is just activist jargon... What's sadder, is that this show is not Kid friendly, no matter how they try and spin it... Self-deletion and other more mature subject matter, should stay far from Kids... Also, the easter eggs in this episode, though they seem cool on the very surface, only mean more lore and cannon distortion, if you're into SW lore and cannon...

@@DanyTheMe I was basing that statement off what some of the show creators have said in the past, that SW was made for kids... Sorry if that sounded confusing...
I wholeheartedly agree that this show made the mistake of presuming there would be a season 2 rather than earning a season 2 by making a great, complete season 1 narrative. There’s no chance this gets a second season. It had the budget of a major motion picture and has largely been received negatively. That said, it does seem KK leans in when fans dislike something so who knows.
Did you not see the prequels? The whole reason he lived alone on a swamp planet in the originals was because of his shame about his failure to see the sith taking power right in front of his face during his time as head of the jedi.
@DanyTheMe that was because the real siths spent centuries growing in power generation after generation growing influence laying low as much as they could this is just a random jedi killer who were black and has red lights Saber calling themselves sith it stupid
@@Jack-4v did you watch the finale? Darth Plagueis (Palpatine's canon master) is literally instructing Quimir from the shadows. Quimir only revealed himself after Mae abandoned her apprenticeship with him. (He needs one of the twins as his acolyte for the sith's greater goals) he literally makes sure to kill every jedi witness, leave behind no evidence of a sith presence, and wipes the memory of the only living witness.
@DanyTheMe that makes no sense. Why would he order him to that, and plus, he never got them because we never see them ever in legends or the movies or hear about them for that matter. You would think that 2 powerful force born twins would be heard about a lot more. My mind breaks to figure out how you are going to make this piece of crap writing work
The two cameos felt like they were added in post. Felt random and came out of nowwhere, like the people over at Lucasfilm knew how bad the season was and they wanted to salvage it with cheap fan service.
I didn't like the finale. I think they dumbed Sol down too much just to make the story work. It's fine to show that Jedi don't always do the right thing, but Sol's vague "I did it to protect you" BS irritated me. "Your mother turned into a dark cloud of magic and enveloped you. I thought she was going to hurt you" would've been a more reasonable thing to say. He had much better arguments than the one he used, and Mae *saw* the whole thing, so she knew how it went down, and that it wasn't as simple as she said. And yes, I think the Plageuis cameo is how they expect to get a second season. But I think the only way there's going to be a Season 2 is if they've already got one in the contract (like how Velma got a Season 2).
@@terrymcginnis01 I have to admit that I can see the other side of it. There's room to argue that she wasn't going to hurt Mae. The Jedi were dealing with something they had no understanding of, and they really shouldn't have been there at that point in the first place. But they made Sol's defense especially weak and pathetic.
@@BrianHartman sure. I see what you mean. But coming from Mae of all characters, it was just embarrassing. This girl was literally telling her sister that she wants to kill her and started a fire and ran away mere minutes before the jedi came into their sanctuary. Was it helping Mae escape Sol? Last episode, the rat was kicking and punching Mae... Now he's helping her escape?
@@terrymcginnis01 Yeah, I didn't understand that thing with the tracker either. And why was Sol trying to blast Mae out of the sky, FFS‽ It's like a switch flipped and he was like, "Well, I guess I'm evil now!".
They filmed Sol watching a scary witch disintegrate and at the same time begin to disinetegrate a child after they filmed that child telling us about sacrifice. He kills the witch to stop this. Then they filmed a finale talking about how horrible he was. The show failed.
Sadly, it couldn't end any other way because they were always going to have to set up some way the Jedi do not know the Sith are out and about. Vernestra is fully aware he didn't do those things, but she committed to carrying on the cover up.
@@bajansamuraithat’s another thing…did we get an adequate explanation for WHY Vernestra insisted on covering up the return of the Sith? Was it just because her former padawan was the culprit, and exposing him would make her look bad? If so, then that’s about as morally bankrupt as it gets.
@@tpeters85 In a better executed show, we would understand that this is a story of essentially a police precinct where a few among their number take part in a coverup. It should not mean the entire Order is corrupt or have weak resolve, but in their context they were going for Vernestra's motivations being the need to not lose favor in the eyes of the Council, so to minimize how bad the situation could look by wrapping it up in a tidy bow (i.e., it is all Sol's fault). Now, she knows her former Padawan fell to the dark side and probably would still need to be hunted, but better to send a secret task force after him than make it a public manhunt for Jedi killers. At no point would she necessarily officially recognize (or at least record) that he's a Sith, but if/when she finds that out in the [supposed] season 2, she too would be dispatched to the Force. Pity this wasn't a cleverly crafted, intellectual, well-acted crime thriller with Jedi trappings.

There was that one moment with that one tragic guy that got me excited. But the way things wrapped up with the twins was so odd because the shot wanted me to feel something with characters that it was bizzare to have portrayed in that way. It just felt wrong

Why would Mae just tell tell Osha events from her point of view when she should now be the one with new perspective? I wish I could join you - but this doesn't work for me. This would have been the FIRST conversation the two halves of the same person had with each other. It's contrived to take this long.
I liked the setup. I liked the concept. I was hoping for a deep dive into something we’ve never seen in Star Wars before and the first 3 episodes slowly told us we were getting that. And then it became apparent it was just a fart in a fancy jar. And yes. I believe there will be a second season because Disney/Kennedy seem to believe, still, that there is no bad press (not true anymore) and they use social media and you tube engagement metrics as a part of their decision making. Which is flawed. Sometimes that works; in this case - it does not
Despite the descent action scenes, there's nothing redeemable about a very poorly written and directed show with forced cameos, subpar acting, huge plot holes, poor character development, and a confusing mess of an incomplete story that serves as a setup for a second season that may not even get green-lit.
7/10. Solid storytelling, great effort. Should’ve been another season but too many Crybels don’t just say thank you. Best part is having an idea of how Annakin may have come about. The cliffhanger did not leave me wanting a season 2. Like you, I got bored of the twins story a few episodes ago. Also, there's nobody to cheer for. They're all pretty detestable.
I was enjoying this show up until last week’s episode (7). They made Sol into an idiot who has zero awareness. His force abilities are only present when it’s convenient for the show. The ending with Osha and Mae had me rolling my eyes. I just didn’t care anymore.
The prequels did establish that Yoda was pretty blind, what with Palpatine being under everyone's noses. But in this case, it was more behind his back than under his watch. :)

I watched the show with a open mind but after seeing the last episode I'm rating it a 5/10. Here are the few reasons I gave up on this show. Spoilers below........... 1: Sol let Qimir go after he just killed a Jedi with his bare hands. His hands were the weapon. 2: Sol uses the force to hold the bridge rather than just picking up the two girls.... Who made him a master?! 3; Trinity kills all the witches. How? By disconnecting them? ... yeah she ruined the last matrix movie and ruined this too. 4: Osha magically gets her force ability back and becomes OP to kill Sol. 5: Osha and May were apart for decades and now that they're finally together. They have to go their separate ways for no reason. She could have just went with Qimir and Osha but instead May has to stay and gets her mind wiped. 6: Osha using Sol's lightsaber and it turns red because her mood changed.
I don't usually blame the actors but, but I'm just gonna say it- I don't think Amandla Stenberg is all that good of an actor. Like her performance in this episode was genuinely bad. The scene where she "turned" was like something out of a student short film.
I hat eto say it to buts it's the truth. Everyone else is doing a good job. I honestly believe the child actresses did a better job. It's a shame too because the previous worst actor was the black women from obi wan. Their kinda feeding the affirmative action complaints by casting terrible actresses.
I have no problem with showing that there are less noble and even selfish Jedi amongst the ranks. It was that way in the prequels too. And it’s fine to show some political corruption seeping in too. Buuuuuut I really like Sol as a character, he seemed very “human” to me and I cared that he cared. And in a lot of ways, justice was served, and he even seemed to accept that (guy was clearly troubled as much if not more than the other three Jedi in their group). But I’m still sad at his passing, and that his name gets smeared post-mortem. The biggest problem I had with this show, and with most shows, is that people don’t TALK things through, ever. They always get cut off, or keep vital information from others, etc. So much could’ve been avoided by making everyone sit in a room together for 20 minutes to get ahead of all the muck. And then yeah, a lot of character’s choices are bizarre and out of left-field. Some leaps of logic too far to accept, even for a sci-fi show. Not a piece of utter trash, but ultimately disappointing in that it didn’t live up to its potential, sometimes in more ways than aspects of the prequels similarly missed out. But we did get some cool character moments, and overall good fight scenes. And I personally love the *premise* of the High Republic, and would love to see more of it. Keeping it restricted to mostly books or comics is even more missed potential. I’m glad Jedi: Survivor offered a glimpse into that period, and I wished Acolyte took further advantage. Oh well. If, and it’s a 50/50 kind of if, there is a second season, the good news is there’s a lot of headroom for them to improve. I certainly hope they do take notes and make necessary changes. And for heaven’s sake, please explain the dangling threads of why Ki-Adi had to be introduced, what about Yord’s Padawan, Mother Korril, etc. And maybe give us a Wookiee Jedi who doesn’t go out like limp noodle. 🙄
I get the Rule Of Two would’ve usually prevented Qimir from taking both of the twins, but after hearing that they were created from the force and that they are practically the same person I think Qimir would’ve taken them to Plagueis and figured out a new strategy, because there is too much potential to be wasted simply because of that rule.
I think season 2 will focus on the Sith. My theory is Osha will be the vessel for Plagus to Force transfer his essence then we will meet young Sidious.
I was mixed on the show but I think they'll be a season 2, whether or not people were watching, everyone was talking about this show. So I think that'll be enough for a second season
Problem with this show getting another season is that the paste is out of the tube. Any continuation of this story will only violate the lore we know even more. I don't know/can't say if there will be another but I personally can't anymore. If this story was its own thing that had nothing to do with what we know, it would fine enough. But what happened in this show changes things in such a fundamental way, it's hard to accept it knowing it's canon now. Too much, if we're being honest: respect of the overarching story and lore is paramount...

This series is about embracing Yin AND Yang both… Light & dark (Ocea & Mae), accepting that light & dark are not “good or bad” or “right or wrong,” but just another natural polar opposite as up & down or cold & hot. EVERYONE has a dark side within; a bright light WILL cast a dark shadow. It’s just nature. The movie explores a cult of witches that tattoo themselves with a yin/yang symbol repping their appreciation & embrace of that balance. The witches were a private culture minding their business, embracing their powers like any tribe would practice its own religion. They use the force as a natural talent to its fullest, open-minded potential and we empathize Qimir’s ideas that the Jedi are the bad guys; like cops abusing their power. Making rules, limiting potential… Forcing entry into this witch tribe’s home & literally stealing their children in the name of “what’s best for them” like Child Protective Services. I knew yin/yang would flip in the end, & Ocea would end up being the acolyte. I promise if you re-binge every episode, you will enjoy this a hell of a lot more.
I feel like this show has been very uneven but aside from a few clunky moments and lines I really liked this episode. I found myself really invested in the characters. Some great performances and the fight scenes were excellent. And of course some excellent cameos! Last week I was so bummed and didn’t want another season but after this episode I’m definitely onboard for a season 2.
I absolutely loved this episode. The Space meteor ring scene was absolutely outstanding. Also loved seeing a lightsaber being bled and turning red. There is a definitive end to the story whether there is a season two or not. It is a story of how the Acolyte turned to the dark side. We now know OSHA is the Acolyte. Mae had her mind wiped. That is the end of her story. We got the end of Sols tragic story of his mistake. He felt he did the right thing and from a certain point of view he did. But he also acted impulsively and made a mistake. Was that mistake a contrivance. Possibly? The story is a complete story. Like the original Star Wars film it gives you sone images that show there are future stories to tell but this season was the story of OSHA’s fall to the dark side. We get hints of Yoda and Plaguss and what the future could hold but the story they wanted to tell was told and it was a tragic one filled with a lot of darkness and sone moments of fun. What i really loved was how different it was to what we have seen before. It is forging its own path. Not a perfect show but a damn good one.
I loved the show and I hope there is a season 2 because I want to see where it goes. And yes I was invested in the twins story line, but especially with the pairing of Qimir and Osha.
I am intrigued by the premise of the show, but given the budget, I do not think nor feel that anyone got their investment’s worth; all this being said the show had a few bright spots for me - namely Manny Jacinto, Lee Jung Jae, and Dafnee Keene. Will I tune into a season 2? Yes! Why? Because in spite of my criticism, I am invested.
Same! I barely cared about Mae and Osha as characters. I love all the lore-building and the fight choreography, and Sol and Qimir. And yes, I think there will be a Season 2--why would Venestra recruit Mae to finding Qimir (her former pupil), if no Season 2?

@captainDJ87 I'm pretty sure you'd write something similar. Maybe worse. As evidenced by the fact that you couldn't come up with anything. Sometimes, you gotta understand that not every character is gonna spout off a deep, impactful monologue at all times. Sometimes, it's nice to hear characters be a little more real. Given the insane circumstances these characters have been put through not just in their past, but in the few days that this whole (present tense) story takes place, I think desperately crying out "why" makes sense.

The only way a second series takes places is if they call it something completely different and just focus on qimir and osha with plagauis actually appearing in a supporting role. Also just make 3-4 episodes and don't stretch it out to 8
As someone who loved the old days of seeing Kristian endlessly speculate about Plagueis on Jedi Council, I am really disappointed that this is where they decided to finally tease him.
I could not agree more. It's a story with a lot of potential but this felt like the worse possible execution. I thought the CGI was fine but it was so obviously a recreation of some of the most famous art it didn't feel like a real character, like someone who can speak/interact with the rest of the universe. It felt like a perfect recreation of the book art inserted as a panel between the rest of the show.

I’m hoping there’s a season 2 but if there isn’t, I’m at least satisfied with everything they did with Sol. If they don’t, I will be bummed but I think with what we know about Plagueis in the prequels, this hints at how he learned how to manipulate a vergence in the force and we know how that goes. 1. the fight choreography is amazing because the same team from "rogue one" did it. Lucasfilm needs to call them for more projects, I was happy with the style of the sequels, but ahsoka or boba fett need more of this. 2. The show t's far from being Andor or Mandalorian, but I don't think it's as terrible as fans or Twitter say, however it's undoubtedly mid or just fine. However, if they made another season I would watch it, something I can't say about Boba Fett or secret invasion
Yes I do think and hope they'll make a season 2. My biggest problem with season one was STRUCTURE. They should have dropped 2 episodes a week. This short episode structure worked on Mando, but not for this show. I did like the overall story in the end.
There will be a season 2 most likely just so the Disney brass can make a point. They run Star Wars now, whether you like it or not and they know better than any of the fans.
I have a list of canceled Star Wars projects that Kathleen axed because a director had a bad movie I’d like to show you. She cares too much about the optics so there will more than likely not be a season 2. This show is too divisive, just look at the Rian Johnson trilogy that got canned. If it was Feige running Star Wars there would be a season 2 and they would’ve improved it heavily by listening to some of the criticism.
Wouldn’t be surprised if it happened-just because Kathleen put her foot in her mouth by calling us all bigots and homophobs for not liking it. She just might be petty enough to move forward, because then the fans would have been right all along, this show was just not good by any stretch of the imagination….
I completely agree with you. It’s got a few good parts. Action is great. But I don’t care about what happens in it really. I’m not excited for a new episode to come out. I like the main Jedi actor. I forget his name. He’s been great. Some episodes were unnecessary and didn’t add anything. I do think there will be a season 2 but it isn’t needed. Thanks again for the great content!
Man I really wish they would have just absolutely adapted James Lucenos' Darth Plagueis and with Tony Gilroy's team. God could you imagine that? Tom Hiddleston as Palpatine too, he's perfect for it. Would have been a way better choice both acting caliber wise AND looks wise compared to the Doctor Who actor they wanted for Rise of Skywalker. I've been telling people about your channel and your ideas about adapting the books. Really don't know why they won't do it.
If they didn't spend 180 million, there may have been a season 2. With that budget, reviews and viewership, no season 2. I agree with everything Kristian said. The action, choreography, locations and sets were good. After that, I didn't really care. The best dialogue (in my opinion) was when the counselor spoke about putting the Jedi in check.
Did you not see the prequels? They've always been well meaning, but blind to the evils of the different political factions they serve and the sith hiding under their noses. The whole reason Yoda is a hermit and Palpatine rules the galaxy in the originals is because of this.
It was a better episode than some of the previous ones, I agree the twins story has kind of died for me, although the cave scene, that could have some serious connection to how the chosen ones existence, so I think the twins story could potentially shed some light on that. The ending and cave scene was my favourite bits of this episode, thats the only reason why I would even consider watching another season

There will be a season 2 just like Rian Johnson was getting his own Star Wars trilogy.

In simply business logic, since most fans aren’t watching the show, it’s not worth the massive budget. Attempting to blame fans is the “toxic” behaviour, from my perspective
The best part of the whole series was when Darth Plagueis creeped around that wall for that 1 second cameo.

I just can't bring myself to care at all about two Jedi killers hugging and crying with one another. This episode just confirms this show's failure is complete.
To be fair, the Jedis did kill their mother and their clan...😂😂😂
But yeah the series didn't show us that what the jedi did was bad or malicious, which is why the emotions they wanted us to feel don't hit...
If the jedi were shown as truly evil...
Then they are murderer killers
@@b29ak2007 Well, Sol didn't have bad intentions. He thought he was doing the right thing to save Osha and Mae.
It depicts the sith as evil, but correct in their observations of the jedis flaws and weaknesses (again something we see in all of starwars)
The protagonist are depicted as neutral at their core, but capable of sliding to either side (something that we haven't seen in mainstream protags, but that's been around in legends forever)
The witches were dark side aligned, but not fully evil, just mostly looking out for themselves and willing to play dirty for their collective interests.
(Also something we've seen in legends content, same as light side people who arent jedi or pure saints)
Sure a good person wouldn't have killed Sol, but this whole show was always building up to the protagonist becoming a bad guy by the end.
I didn’t care about them before they killed Sol. After? Get out of here.

You may want to fire many others however I’m on board
Disney has to recanonize the novel first.

The twins, witches, acting (mostly) music choices, green lady, and story kinda just had me eye rolling unfortunately I did not get into this show much.
A series cannot live only with Easter eggs
This ☝️
What is sad, is that this show, while throwing in easter eggs to somehow appeal to older SW fans, means nothing...

I wholeheartedly agree that this show made the mistake of presuming there would be a season 2 rather than earning a season 2 by making a great, complete season 1 narrative. There’s no chance this gets a second season. It had the budget of a major motion picture and has largely been received negatively. Did you not see the prequels? The whole reason he lived alone on a swamp planet in the originals was because of his shame about his failure to see the sith taking power right in front of his face during his time as head of the jedi.

@DanyTheMe that makes no sense. Why would he order him to that, and plus, he never got them because we never see them ever in legends or the movies or hear about them for that matter. The chances of this getting a season two are equal to Rian Johnson’s trilogy happening.
So definitely still happening
Yeah, Mae was a liar. She left out the part where her mother morphed into a smoke demon. Sol stood his ground.
@@terrymcginnis01 I have to admit that I can see the other side of it. There's room to argue that she wasn't going to hurt Mae. But they made Sol's defense especially weak and pathetic.
@@BrianHartman sure. I see what you mean. But coming from Mae of all characters, it was just embarrassing. This whole episode was sloppy. What was the tracker rat doing? Was it helping Mae escape Sol? Last episode, the rat was kicking and punching Mae... Now he's helping her escape?
@@terrymcginnis01 Yeah, I didn't understand that thing with the tracker either. And why was Sol trying to blast Mae out of the sky, FFS‽ It's like a switch flipped and he was like, "Well, I guess I'm evil now!".

Sadly, it couldn't end any other way because they were always going to have to set up some way the Jedi do not know the Sith are out and about. Vernestra is fully aware he didn't do those things, but she committed to carrying on the cover up.
You also missed this was the same witch that mind controlled their Padawan. Sol did nothing wrong 😂

I don't usually blame the actors but, but I'm just gonna say it- I don't think Amandla Stenberg is all that good of an actor. Like her performance in this episode was genuinely bad. The scene where she "turned" was like something out of a student short film.
I was really hoping Mae and Osha would merge into one so she could concentrate on playing a single character in the future but noooooo
Sopranos tshirt! Same day as Robert ILer interview!
Naaah... why would you take Plaguies your replacement who is clearly more powerful than yourself... That's just asking to get killed..
Totally agree the show should have been a couple of hundred years before the Phantom Menace.
@@digenesakritas1107 Truthfully if they wanted to introduce Siths in the story, the show should have taken place the last time they were there, a MILLENNIUM ago.
@@truthseeker6561 Pablo Hildago the "Lore adviser" wanted to push the High Republic Era and it's books which was his idea and a colossal failure. They shouldn't have messed with the pre-existing lore!
Anakin blew up the Death Star!!!
Finale had a 3.7/10 on IMDB with 79 reviews hours before it aired lmao
And no memory
@@danychan2149 It’s clear the writers want a season 2. Doesn’t mean they’ll get it. I personally wouldn’t mind a season 2. IF the writers learnt from this season.
@@Tyler_Pifer92 if...pfft they havent learned from the sequels and we're going on a decade now. This is what wishful thinking looks like
I agree: a season 2 of this is not financially justifiable. Love the Sopranos!!!
No chance if Iger is at the helm
I thought is was fine - I hope they finish it to avoid more lose threads. If they want a solid interconnected universe they'll need to tie those plot threads up.
Definitely interested to see how this show is perceived in 6 months to a year...
It was more interesting than the Boba Fett show but was still so disappointing
@@danielb.2015 let's see merchandise sales. This show will be a gust in the wind once the next project rolls out and won't even make a dent in SW pop culture
I think it will go down in infamy , like Game of Throens Season 8, MCU Phase 4, last season of Lost etc.
I can already foresee it. They are going to push a multiverse in Star Wars and that this isn't the same universe we loved.
The way Mae asked "why? Why? Why?" Did a 12 year old write the dialogue for some of this? 😅
What would you have written instead?
@@DooodOfLife not why why why thats for sure
@captainDJ87 I'm pretty sure you'd write something similar. Maybe worse. As evidenced by the fact that you couldn't come up with anything.
Sometimes, you gotta understand that not every character is gonna spout off a deep, impactful monologue at all times. Sometimes, it's nice to hear characters be a little more real. Given the insane circumstances these characters have been put through not just in their past, but in the few days that this whole (present tense) story takes place, I think desperately crying out "why" makes sense.
@@DooodOfLife but why why why
@loooooooooby dude, only children speak this way, asking for more information about an event isnt a single word situation 🙄. "Why would you do something like that?" Come on now
this show is a tranquilizer. I'm literally drinking coffee while watching the show.
Never would have guessed Star Wars would throw a Sith pity party, but here we are...
It'll be different to the story from a sith point of view.
This show coulda been groundbreaking,i waited 3 years for this only to find myself baffled as to how a simple concept could go so horribly wrong..didn't need the twin plot lines at all knowing what we know
I loved the finale 🤷♂️ but art is subjective so if you didn’t like it no worries. Was so happy to see you know who (the first one)
Even the bit when Venestra tells the Senators Sol killed his accomplices when he had an alibi for all 3 and one was clearly killed by Mae in front of witnesses..
art is subjective but there is a limit. I dont think anyone can argue Madam web is better than the dark knight / black panther etc. I think this show has enough objectively bad about it to be considered the worse Star Wars project Disney has done, worse than Book of Bobba fett.
@@jim1242 yeah again everyone is entitled to an opinion. Honestly the 6-8 episodes of 30ish minutes is what Lucasfilm needs to reexamine. But I found alot to love in The Acolyte.
The writing wasn’t Andor level but it was so much better than all the other Disney+ shows. The fight choreography was insane in both familiar and fresh ways, def the best lightsaber combat we’ve gotten since the Prequel films. Hope the next show lands better for you.
The difference between making a character turn evil using well structured 3 movies, slowly and gradually.... and making a character turn evil right in the last of 8 episodes where all previous showed the same character as goody two shoe
Leslye Headland has something on someone higher up. She will get a S2 ... but I can't see how they can justify it.
I agree with you Kris and no I don't think it should or will get a second season.
The one character I liked had his character destroyed, killed, and made a scapegoat.
With this show I felt the exact same way as I did with Kenobi, didn't like the show that much, but I would be interested in a season 2 because of the place the series ends. I do think there is a possibility of a season 2 happening since a lot of people was watching, even if it was just to hate, so views are views, but we would need to compare it to other shows.
It was a mockery of everything George Lucas made.
Well George let it go, so I'm disappointed with him too.
Haha relax and go to bed.
😂
George only made 2 good movies. Star Wars has been a constant tug of war between great ideas and poor execution
It adheres more to Lucas’ vision than some of the other projects💀
I would be not shocked, but, surprised if we got a season two. This was a truly hollow experience.
WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS SHOW? Meandering nonsense with zero moral compass and left the audience more confused than when it began. If your name appeared in the credits after this show (other than George Lucas) you are hereby denied any further access to this property.
The only way a second series takes places is if they call it something completely different and just focus on qimir and osha with plagauis actually appearing in a supporting role. Also just make 3-4 episodes and don't stretch it out to 8
No to S2.
"To say that the Force works in mysterious ways is to admit one's ignorance, for any mystery can be solved through the application of knowledge and unrelenting effort." -Darth Plagueis
This show will not get a season 2
They don’t have to call it season 2. And they literally will make what they want despite fan backlash. Hasn’t stopped them yet.
@@OldmanSk8ing that is very true
I’m hoping there’s a season 2 but if there isn’t, I’m at least satisfied with everything they did with Sol. If they don’t, I will be bummed but I think with what we know about Plagueis in the prequels, this hints at how he learned how to manipulate a vergence in the force and we know how that goes. Second season would be great to explore more of the Sith and what they pitched the show as but I think we can connect the dots without it (and this is coming from someone who for the most part really enjoyed the series)
1. the fight choreography is amazing because the same team from "rogue one" did it.
Would Disney really put out another 180 million dollar show which is almost certainly gonna get less views than the first season?
The second season will have to lower the budget alot though
@@peteparker22 I’ve never know later seasons to ever be cheaper. I mean I’m sure a lot of that money must have been questionably spent but still
Wouldn’t be surprised if it happened-just because Kathleen put her foot in her mouth by calling us all bigots and homophobs for not liking it. She just might be petty enough to move forward, because then the fans would have been right all along, this show was just not good by any stretch of the imagination….
My brother you are spot on! I 10000% agree with your thoughts. Very disappointed in the choices made throughout the season.
#1 , I was not impressed at all with the Acolyte🤷🏻♂️
Best part of the show was when it ended.
The journey to the Jedi being straight up evil is now complete
Did you not see the prequels? They've always been well meaning, but blind to the evils of the different political factions they serve and the sith hiding under their noses. The whole reason Yoda is a hermit and Palpatine rules the galaxy in the originals is because of this.
With new show runners and new writers I’m game for a season 2. Also recast the actors playing Osha and Venestra
Gd awful finale. God awful show!
Shows trash. Officially not canon
Everything post aquisition is canon. Sry not sry
Cope everyone hates most things by disney’s “star wars.”
Because its not star wars🙂
@@zekinumanoglu3152 that’s not the case, how come all of the SW shows have been successes to various degrees? And to say most ppl hate Disney SW isn’t true. You’re telling me most of the fandom hates CW and Rebels? Bro, fr Disney revived the franchise in a way that couldn’t be fathomed. If Lucas still had it, it would be a dead franchise. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean that the large majority of the fandom doesn’t like it either. Grow up dude, just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it less canon in the official timeline. It’s canon and that’s a fact, sry not sry.
@@knoober3756 I did not mean to trigger you. Great stuff mate. 👌🏻 How much money is disney paying you for being a shill?
Go to your safe space and lye down. The copium is strong with this one.
The final episode is what this entire season should have been about, the Jedi cover up and the re-emergence of the Sith.
Do I want a second season?
Yes, if it is written like episode 8 and has that tone.
Do I think it will get a second season?
Yes. It has produced chatter and maintained decent ratings, which means money for Disney+.
Without listening to anything yet, you look excited, man 👍
Ya know I wonder how many conversations did Yoda and Obi-Wan have for him to learn how to commune with Qui Gon? Darth tyranus Yoda's Padawan slipped right by when he shows up which is probably years away yet. Different Yoda we may see.🤔
