Thank you for confirming about CLip Studio's resolution size output! Sadly I didn't know this until recording my past 10 or so works, but moving forward I will switch to recording with OBS!
OBS does NOT make a timelapse for you. You'd still have to speed up the recording in a video editor. Just as I mentioned in the video above... EDIT: I have a tutorial video now that teaches you how to do exactly that with a free video editor. Check out the pinned comment. You have to have at least version 1.10.5 for the timelapse function of Clip Studio Paint. You can check your version under "Help -> Version Information". It doesn't auto-update, so you have to download the update manually from their website. Also: I am not a tech-support from CELSYS. I'm not even sponsored by them. Please don't expect me to solve all of your technical issues involving Clip Studio's timelapse function.
@@flakon6098 I use Adobe Premiere, but that one is obviously not free. Any free video editing software should be able to do something so basic as speeding up video footage though.
@@nerothejackal9662 I cannot find these news anywhere in their release notes. Instead the newest timelapse related update is: "Reduced the size of Clip Studio format files (extension: .clip) when Record timelapse is turned on. If the timelapse is recorded in Ver. 2.1 or later, the timelapse cannot be exported in versions earlier than Ver. 2.1." And I am running the latest v1 version and can still use it. Can you tell me what your sources are? Or did you perhaps misunderstand the compatibility part of versions older than Ver. 2.1?
Super helpful! Thank you! I was desperately trying to figure out how to do this for Blender. The OBS settings were confusing! Important thing though!! I suggest the .MKV file format, because it can handle being interrupted, such as by a crash. Recording in MP4 runs the risk of losing the recording if it isn't stopped properly. :)
Glad that it was helpful to you! And yes, that the upside of mkv. The downsides are though that some video editors might not let you import the mkv files, and directly uploading on social media might also not work. So make sure beforehand that everything else down the line is compatible with mkv!
when using csp and you have a decent pc rig, always export the timelapse before you close the software. I didn't do that and it made the canvas file size so big and the saving progress/opening the file is so slow. Just edit the clips so you can manually organize them chronologically. My rig: GTX 1060,16gb ram, AMD Ryzen 5 3500
Not bad tutorial for those who want to record their drawing processes! Respect! P.S Wish me luck in my first speedpaint, because it is possible that I will intermittently do what I want to do! ^_^
Good afternoon! Surprisingly, my speedpaint didn't get a good number of hits. It's a pity, because I tried to show my creation as thoroughly as possible and faster...
I was looking for recording the time lapse in real time through OBS without using a video editor later, and I want to activate the time lapse mode at certain times throughout the recording instead if the whole video.
thank you! i wanna start recording speedpaints, but csp has limited features when it comes to recording and exporting. i had obs installed for a while but never got to learn how to use it x3 my pea brain was scared of the interface
Really helpful! Is it possible to record a single layer of a drawing, while keeping the window you’re drawing on with multiple layers visible? I wanted to draw a painting while having the sketch underneath, but not making the sketch visible during the time lapse... Is it possible? Thanks in advance.
On photoshop is there a way to record the window but it doesn't show you zooming in and out? Like always just the full canvas. Zooming in and out on timelapse is terrible on yhe eyes lol
The only way I can think of is using the duplicate window method that I showed in the video. Under "Window" -> "Arrange" click on "New Window for ...", drag the duplicate out so that it forms its own window, and then capture that window with OBS, or any other screen capture software.
So we still need to edit the timelapse on video editing software? i thought it can automatically record the timelapse on OBS, is there any software that can do Timelapse recording without editing it? i wanna record my CCTV as timelapse
You would need to use some video editing software. Import the recording, put it on the timeline, increase its speed to whatever you want, and export the project. Make sure that the new video file has the same resolution as your OBS recording.
Depends on your method and settings. If you record via CSP, then a large project might take a few GB. The exported files aren't as bad though. If you record via OBS, then it entirely depends on your settings.
@@Mink-tDR i want to record with obs, is it possible to record without taking much storage? or can i speed up my recording in obs before the recording got exported to my pc?

As far as I know, it is not possible to tell either OBS or Clip Studio Paint which layers in particular should be recorded. It's always all of those that are visible.
hi! can u please tell me what im doing wrong , so i had on time lapse for a drawing and at the end i wanted to quick share and it was a video format so i deleted the recording of the drawing but now i cant quick share as a normal png even if i create a new drawing it's confusing, for old drawings i had already saved in my gallery it will be just png.
I don't exactly know what the "quick share" feature is. I am only familiar with the Windows Version of Clip Studio Paint. Normally exporting a png should be possible whether or not you are recording a timelapse. And if you deleted the recordings then you can't export a timelapse video anymore.
OBS itself doesn't have a function like that. It can only capture what the window or screen actually shows. But you can still use the method that I explained in the video, using "Window -> Canvas -> New Window" , which duplicates your canvas.
After you exported the timelapse into a file you go to Twitter and do a "media" upload. "Maximum file size is 512MB for TweetVideo, but you are able to upload a video longer than 2 minutes and 20 seconds (...)" From Twitter's guide to uploading videos: help.twitter.com/en/using-twitter/twitter-videos
I varies a lot, but it can get quite large. I did a quick test: Exported video: 3sec, 960x1280, 3290 kbps -> 1.5 MB Project file: 1500x2000, only 1 layer -> 6.8 MB Project file size after I deleted timelapse data: 2.9 MB So yeah, it makes a significant difference. That difference could have been much larger if I recorded more timelapse data, i.e. drew and erased more. Hope that was helpful to you~

Yes, it would record everything that is visually going on in your window or screen.

After you exported the timelapse into a file you go to Twitter and do a "media" upload.

From Twitter's guide to uploading videos: help.twitter.com/en/using-twitter/twitter-videos
