The Mikro is definitely a nice addition 2 the Maschine family of hardware. Plus I'm loving the price, especially if it has the same functions as the previous versions.
Also, I wouldn't call it a 'downgrade'. I think a better term would be 'scaled down'. I have been watching different companies re-size their bulkier hardware for years. For many users this move is a space saver. At the end of the day, it's all about preference. Great video. U make me want 2 run out and buy one. :-)

Wow, I almost have enough money to buy the mk3 but until you introduced the mikro and with the price of 250, I decided imma go with that, because I really like maschine and wanna get into it way more. I’m currently an fl user but sometimes it’s cool to switch daws sometimes and get a different vibe and all that fr 🙏🏽🔥
That’s exactly what I did. I left FL studio to try the Maschine Mikro and never looked back. Lol
don't forget to try using machine inside fl studio....works great
I see it different: Mikro is for more traditional use, PC and Mikro, big Mk3 is for people who want to stop using keyboard, mouse and PC screen. I do not agree that using big Mk3 with it screens is the only right way, level higher than Mikro users. It just depends on needs. I also think that big Mk3 is a bit fancy with screens and knobs, it is not necessarily faster, ex. dragging sample to certain pad, pad colours and many more are clicks away on PC, and many pressing buttons and turning knobs on big Mk3. But I have to admit that feeling of doing it all on big Mk3 only is one of a kind and isn't having fun one of most important things in every hobby?

Thank you for posting! I have NI M32 and thinking of getting Maschine. Had decided on the MK3 over the Mikro due too screens, workflow and $200 worth of audio interface capabilities. Now the $1,400 Maschine + just dropped. Now thinking Mikro for now and a Maschine + if I use it a lot in a year. Thoughts suggestions?
I’m in the same boat! I was about to go to the MK3 then the stand-alone came out. I guess it all depends on your workflow and goals. That’s what I’m going to be assessing in the next few months.
It would be nice if you could have compared the features of the two products a little more, rather than talking so much about your feelings about them. You mentioned the screens, but what else? Clicked on the video to hear more about the features and less about your backpack.
It’s the exact same Maschine minus the screen.
I would like to see a review of the Komplete Kontrol S49/S61 MK2 with the Maschine Micro MK3.

Good video man. Iv been looking at getting the mikro mk3 or the mk3. Obviously the mk3 is overall better but what would you suggest for me? In terms of beneficial. I dont sample, and I use splice for one shots and drop them on to my keyboard for playing. I want a drum machine but is it worth me buying the mk3 or if it's only really for one shits is it best I get the mikro? I used to own an MPC renaissance about 3 years ago but got rid of it because didn't use it close to its potential lol
I would say the Mikro should do for you. You' d be missing out on the screens which help with arrangement and what not but you can still arrange using the mikro and software.

I still use my studio I have 3 different computer setups. The mikro will be my vacation beat maker that I will pair with the new kk A25 keyboards when it comes out for the mobile lab. I also did what you suggested and put my kk libraries on an external hard drive saved mad GBs on my computer
It’ll be a beast on vacation lol. Yea I know that saved tons of space lol

Thanks for the video. I just found you and I’m a new follower. I heard you say you like making beats outside. Do you ever use iMaschine2 on an iPhone or iPad? If you have a video about that already please forgive me, I haven’t had a chance to look at all your vids. And if so how do you feel about the process of moving beats from iMaschine2 to MK3? I’ve had the app for about 6 months and it’s my first experience with beatmaking and I’m looking at the MK3 or mikro. Thanks again!

Alright, help me out. I have the MKII S88 with Komplete 12 standard. I’m mainly interested in making R&B beats. My budget is $1,000-$1200. Should I get the MK3 with Omnisphere or the Mikro with Omnisphere, Trilian, and Keyscape?
Well, the Maschine isn't going to determine weather or not you can make R&B, the sounds will. I think that the Omni, Trillian, and keyscape will be great.

Thanks for the advice ! Ima save up rn I’m just on komplete 13 ultimate and a v49 alesis saving for a maschine even if it’s mk2 lol now you can buy the software alone at NI if u look ! Back then u couldn’t :)

Do the mikro program the same as the mk3? I had Mk3 but i still have the program on my laptop. Can the mikro pick up the sound from MK3?
It’s the same software.
But some function can t be done with the Mikro mk3 …
Like random settings are not available with the Mikro

What I really don't like, is the downgraded software package. Only 1.6GB of basic Maschine library, you have to buy the full 8GB library. And no more Komplete Select in the bundle. The most important synths like Massive, Monarch and Prism are inside, but not the Komplete Select bundle. So the new micro ist not "that" cheap, if you want the same software bundle as the Mikro MK2. I wanted a Mikro MK3, but now I'm thinking about the Maschine MK3 which seems the better value for me. If that was the intention by NI...clever ;-)

The new „upgrade options“ have been released. 150€ for Komplete Select and the full Maschine factory library. That was all included in the Mikro MK2 package. So the new Mikro MK3 with the usual software bundle is 400€ compared to 300€ for the MK2.

I believe it does. I’ll have to check.
DDS825 please check. One other reviewer said he couldn't get the beta version to work with other DAWs as a midi controller.
MIDI is currently not implemented yet

I use Maschine as a plugin, so the Mikro may be for me.
I have the MK1 and I want to upgrade, but I don't want to drop $600+on something I only use as a drum machine.
I'lll probably go with the Mikro.
If you’re only going to use it on the drums, then that makes sense.

Never buy entry level devices unless u r 100% sure you need one. Better go for solid mid or top tier thing. Downgrading is way easier than the opposite.

Yes, you just don't have the screens at the top.
