i actually think that a random dude who's passionate about games, recording a make-shift game awards event in their own house/apartment would be much more awesome than what the game awards actually do.
Me: *Pauses the video* "Was the art for this game done by the SoV artist?" Gaming Shelf: "The artist for this game was the SoV artist!" I think it speaks to the unique style of an artist when you can immediately pick it out at a glance.
This is my first year at being in the shelf awards, love them all and i hope to be here and enjoy some games that you play, is really a great way to get a recommendation, gonna play Faith as soon as i can buy it
A more respectable a worthwhile production than the other Game Awards. Very glad to see someone playing OneShot in 2023, it is my favourite game of all time, and colour me very surprised to see it crop up in this video. Also, there is a Lodoss War video game?
I was afraid to approach the roguelite genre again because I thought Hades was just ok, but oh boy, Vampire Survivors owns. Ps: Yes, capirotada is only good when it's just the bread and grandma hasn't started making it lmao.
Despite a bunch not being this year's releases, games that I have thoroughly enjoyed this year were in no particular order - Super Mario Bros Wonder, Death Stranding, I can't forget The Talos Principle 2, which looks absolutely beautiful in UE5 on a decent rig, has fantastic puzzle design, and a lot of amazing philosophical narrative. And I have to mention Judgment, which I'm playing through right now, and despite just reaching chapter 9, I will say that I'm liking it more than Yakuza 7 that I played around January. It was not bad by any means, the turn based combat is a fantastic refreshing take on the current JRPG formula, but I just didn't find Yokohama nearly as enticing as the other locations, it feels too large and spread out a lot of the time, and the story did not hit me as hard as some other people. Really looking forward to playing as Joryu eraser man and Like a Lad 8 next year, however. But the game, that would take the crown, despite being 5 years late on it, is Red Dead Redemption 2 to me, it's not just a game, it is truly an unforgettable experience I cannot even begin to describe how much I appreciate the sense of detail in every single small thing, largely thanks to its insane budget that was utilized wisely, as well as being a game after many years that actually managed to make me shed a couple of tears and feel an intense emotional connection with the narrative.
I saw but I am glad I do not care about The Lame Awards at all Pizza Tower is still a masterpiece for me and many others out there and that's all what truly matters

I'm very surprised to hear that about Y7, but hey I'm also a massive Judgement fan so it's all good lol

THE DAY IVE BEEN WAITING FOR
1:46 it exists because it's an indie game and all indie games are required to be connected to depression in some way.

You should man, there's a lot of incredible indie games out there
