Oil Painting 101: with Gamblin's CEO Pete Cole

Join artist Pete Cole, Owner and President of Gamblin Artists Colors for an exploration in oil painting tips and techniques! In this casual “Q & A”, discussion-style Virtual Workshop, we will discover, select, and master the materials that are best suited to each of our own artistic intentions. Pete will review and demonstrate the items from the new Gamblin Oil Painting Must Haves Set, which boasts having everything you need to start painting, clean-up and varnish your finished work! Pete will also help us in learning how to build our own personal palette of colors through simple color mixing practices, while sharing some fascinating information about how some of the oil colors are crafted. Other topics to be covered during the workshop include varnishing with Gamvar, choosing a painting surface, prepping your surface with ground, and tips on other helpful painting tools.

i have used gamblin products going on 3 yrs now....having learned with old holland i will still take gamblin paints and mediums/solvents any day!!!!

Can you say something about the safety of leaving paper towels Thant have been used for wiping paint and brushes. Small studio bins left full of paper can spontaneously combust.

Can you use oil ground on cotton canvas.
