I remember getting goosebumps hearing the 8 bit version, and now hearing the orchestral remastered version is an absolute masterpiece. This scene make instantly like Veronica, not as much as Serena but still like her. Never thought the game would pull this move and especially it being Veronica. She really meant it when she said she swear to protect the Luminary and while she lives none shall defeat the Luminary. Kinda made her last moments on Snaerfelt more special and a little more sad. Too bad Act 3 ruins this.
It is one of my favourite rpgs and I’ve played A LOT! It game me the same feelings I had when playing ff7 for the first time when I was in grade 4 I think, 1999-2000. Glad to find someone else who appreciates this great game, it truly is one of the best games out there, if I was a game reviewer I’d give it 10/10 !

In Dragon Quest XI, this track is first used when you read the Queen of Dundrasil’s final letter and Chalky’s letter for the first time in the playthrough. Eleven’s mother Queen Eleanor of Dundrasil wrote her final letter when she knew the end was nigh. Mordegon’s monster army razed Dundrasil to the ground as he was trying to get rid of Eleven the Luminary. Long ago, Mordegon betrayed and murdered Erdwin before the victim could deal the final blow to Calasmos, the Dark One. Chalky’s letter is the result of Eleven’s vision of the past in Cobblestone. Yggdrasil thought that Eleven would be safer with Chalky and Amber in Cobblestone than he would with Jade.
Honestly this theme always puts in the mood drop a tear. Despite the fact it never really happen because of the lame time travel. This ost always reminds me of that scene and how well it was really done and gave an impact. Like no one was expecting it.
In fact, it happened. The time in DQXI function with timelines and when Eleven travels in the past he actually left his timeline to go to another, the one where everyone is alive and well So there is 3 timelines, the one where Mordegon destroyed Yggdrasil and killed a lot of people, the one Eleven saved from disaster and the one where Serenica returned back to Erdwin to save his life

As for act 2, it plays before a boss and in another vision. And for act 3, it plays in a battle in a side story made on the definitive version exclusively. It may play at some other point, but I forgot when.
@@hexospikez741 Off the top of my head it also plays during the scene early into act 1 where The Hero finds and reads that final letter from his birth mom Queen Eleanor before she died. And It plays during this one part where The Hero and Jade are alone together in a cabin I think. After they were falling from a waterfall and she hugged him saying she wouldn’t let go of him again.
I’m sure that new remake will end up being the most definitive version of the game with all the music and a remake of the intro with Ortega. Especially if they bring back the Ice Cavern and Monster Medals from the GBC version and maybe some new gameplay content on top of that. And if them using a symphonic suite version of Into the Legend for the trailer is any indication we may likely get the symphonic suite track in the game too. Maybe even get an option between using that and the midi tracks as well like in DQ XI Definitive Edition.
