I have seen Shoen Knife 4 times. From Lollapalooza till just a few years ago. As much as I love their music their covers are some of the best I have ever heard. I actually prefer their Ramones tribute album to the actual Ramones.
I love that they just love what it is. The purest of what they are looking at. Not the drama the drugs. Just the art. No investment beyond what’s good. With an innocence that should speak to us all.
Ah I have finally found this..I met them in 2010 at Matt Groening's ATP in Minehead England..They signed my copy of Super Group and had a brief chat about music..All of them were very cool and beautiful...
funny I just watched that nirvana interview when kurt has his shirt over his head and the talked about the possibility of touring with teenage fanclub , then shonen knife , who were supporting them around then, picks them
This may be the best lineup since the original lineup. I don't think Etsuko and Ritsuko got along very well. Emi seems to be happy being a member of the band and she and Ritsuko seem to get along fine. Now, If they would just come to Houston! Maybe we don't get the press that Dallas and Austin get, but we don't need it. We need Shonen Knife!!!!!!!!' Please come to Houston ladies.
A-miibaá! Funny, I went to Amoeba in SF earlier in this year, but didn't get any Shonen Knife (I DID get Rusty (Rodan LP), which I'd been trying to find for ages). Did find a copy of Super Group at a roadside place down in Escondido(?)
hah! i went on one of my weekly amoeba hollywood shopping trips recently and the first record i looked for was anything by shonen knife, and they had 0. guess i should have checked the CDs but I hate CDs they always scratch no matter how careful i am with them, and the jewel cases crack or break, and they make that unpleasant hissing noise, and often they don't play into the next track, there is a 2 second pause, which is horrible if youre listening to pink floyd or something. woah, anti cd rant
Okay. But CDs (for most anything made after 1990) are $1 and records are $20 (for most anything made after 1990). Also, CDs can be played in a car. Good luck playing a 12" LP in your whip, son.
I became a fan of Shonen Knife immediately when I saw them open for Nirvana here in Dallas Texas. So cute & talented ❤
Awww, everybody has a Shoen Knife that loves them
Their music always lifts my spirits

This is why I like this band so much: super cute and nice, and good musicians too. It also helps they still look amazing at their ages (Naoko is 50!).
I think Ritsuko is gorgeous and she got me into Teenage Fanclub...great band. ^_^
I've been a fan of Shonen Knife since the early '90s -- so good to see them ftd. here on this AdTube channel!
I love to see/hear them talk. They are just so cute! :)

iloveshonenknife1 Ritsuko is beautiful and a musical powerhouse, but it's not The Knife without Naoko's sister on bass! Love Atsuko ♥️

Naoko is beautiful.
does anyone know what video game is shown at 12 seconds? thanks!
What, no A and C?
They are so cute and their music taste is great. No wonder Kurt Cobain liked them.
Asian women are the cutest when speaking English
I would be buying Shonen Knife and Buddy Holly :P
Nice, but I prefer when Questlove goes shopping.
what's their song at the end called?
You probably figured this out five years ago, but in case anyone else is wondering, the song is called Perfect Freedom.
dang, I miss Janis
Hardest working girls in the Biz (& the nicest)
Gorgeous gals, Emi is luverlee
Uuh Janis Joplin
Those chicks have good taste on music
I don't think any of their selections were personal. Just cool cover designs and pop.
Cuttest episode i've ever seen
Naoko - I bought a 4th chord
No, anyone who doesn't like Shonen Knife has something wrong with them
Yo La Tengo and Shonen Knife with Teenage Fanclub, thats two solid endorsements.
