    Love ypur vids Timmy. I noticed on some of your spools the taper of your braid is bigger at the front of the spool than the back. Not sure if diawa gives you the option of adding washers to change the line lay so the taper is larger at the base of the spool which aids in better casting braid.

    • @peterhorvat869
      @peterhorvat869 7 лет назад

  • @JT-fl5kh

    great video timmy! if i were you i would consider buying a daiwa crossfire reel because it is affordable and a great spinning reel. i have a 2500 sized one and picked it up from BCF for like 60 bucks or something (cheaper cuz im a club member) but yer they are pretty versatile reels and good quality. not that u need another one cuz u have such great reels already! but if u do lose one or one breaks, its a cheap and quality buy. tomorrow is when im going fishing up currumbin creek cuz the tide is supposed to be coming in thru the morning till afternoon so hopefully catch some fish. good luck catching some more fish!

    • @jonnywaselectric
      @jonnywaselectric 7 лет назад

      Mr. Bejoyful I've got the 6000 and 8000 Socorro. I do think the BG is a stronger construction as it is aluminium, where the Socorro uses plastic in some parts. Where the BG comes in front is the line capacity, you can get 500m+ of 65lb braid

    If you're looking for cheap rock fishing gear, buy overhead not spin gear. Something like a torium reel and the daiwa saltist rod should do you good. That should cost about around 450, I use a similar setup with j braid

    • @mr.bejoyful2805
      @mr.bejoyful2805 7 лет назад +1

      Yeah good enough, I originally used a tld on a 12ft surf rod off the rocks for spinning metals so you get used to the weight, but yeah I can get about 60 to 90m, mabye about 1000m with the wind

I am a big daiwa guy but after talking to a few blokes who own and service both, the stella holds out the salt water more which is better for rock hopping and stuff. Either way, great reels and if looked after will last a life time. All comes down to preference I suppose 👌🏼
