The initial angle a bit strange but after that. Wow! Seriously, this has some real motion picture tension in it and I LOVE the soundtrack! Edge of the seat stuff.
Whoever made this short feature was a Jedi Master of short clips,Hollyworld needs 2 hire this guy(or guys) and make some real syfy movies that could set the Genre on it's ass, sorry.

Thanks 61Qu, It's running a little behind schedule, the final part of the script was pretty tough. The funding is going to be the biggest challenge, and I want to finalize the screen play soon. This material is going to be used for the marketing of this film. '09 is going to be tight but that is my goal. I've gotten very fast with editing and post production tasks so that should help me make the deadline.
I said the same thing to myself a year ago, as long as you are having fun along the way, the skills follow. the key is to just learn what you need to know to do your particular video. I only know enough about lightwave to do that video, I haven't even touched the surface!

The mothership's outer rim hangs over both upper and lwer decks, In fact, when the LR exits out of one of the ports, I had it duck down by about 20,000 feet to clear the rim edge. Also the Mothership was tilting upwards which helped it clear the rim better.
The effects are quite good but theres something about the shape on the ship and the way it move that makes it look very balloonish None the less keep up the good work.

The only problem is that this Mothership is nothing more than a landing craft, that stores hundreds of LR Weapons platforms, each capable cracking the crust of this planet. And the Carrier Ship, (which I haven't put in a video yet because difficult to film) stores thousands of these motherships.There are ten thousand Carrier ships each accompanied by millions of Searcher carriers, each capable of holding tens of thousands of Searchers. They're never attacked so much as they are worshiped.
This could be a story about how a couple of aliens left behind since they escaped on a smaller ship. This is just as good as a true movie trailer! Great job!

Hi Pash and thankyou VERY much! This shot actually took a little longer than I stated in the information, because I didn't account for the throw away attempts. I think this was a solid 3 days to make. Lightwave is absolutely the best for this type of work, and Fusion is MUCH better than Adobe AE. Definitly learn as much as you can about compositing, since this shot was mostly composited over background plates

There are about 40 million of these crafts docked 10,000 carrier ships. So that's about 12 billion LR Weapons Platforms. There are roughly 100 billion searcher craft..........And that's just the group of ships that enter our solar system. One can imagine how many of these things there are...

I'm going to have to keep the answer to that one a secret for a little bit longer ;). But I will say that the weapon doesn't project any kind of energy from itself, it passes through energy that comes from the central power at the will of a central King.
The planetary sized ship with the half planet on the back, was the main planet of the species. It dispensed the vehicle you see here. These vehicles dispensed the LR weapon platforms and also the tiny searcher vehicles. Sort of like a matryoshka doll.
oh sorry, I see it says u used Lightwave, nice... I don't know if I'll ever be able to learn 3d work as well as compositing, there is so much to learn in all the fields...

Hi Edwin, mostly compositing. I used Adobe AE for this one. This mothership only looks good from the bottom, the top looks like a giant mushroom!
