Fractal animation made with Mandelbulb3D. I originally designed it for Bryan Alvarez from UC Berkeley, for a TEDx talk about his Human Atlas project, to illustrate his initial dream about the beauty of living systems, hence the name of the video. This particular fractal a hybrid Julia set where many parameters are being animated: the fractal paramaters themselves, the Julia seed, the colors, and of course the camera position. One could say it's not 3D, but many-many-D!

@@karsdeelen2448 You can do this with a program called Mandelbulb3D. It's a free program and the animation feature is built into it. It's not super difficult, but for sure you'll have to fiddle with it quite a bit. Also a good pc helps a lot.

If it’s any consolation, from a spiritual standpoint a dream like this represents the closest approximation of what the totality of your being is.

Yaso, last time I did DMT I thought I was a bumble bee and ended up rolling down a hill face-first slightly frothing at the mouth. I am doing Dispenza's meditations for spme time now, few days ago i had a afternoon nap where i fell in a wierd 2d cartoonish place, i was a part of it, but everything was changing it shape and i had a huge loving feeling in that place, some sort of happy place. I woke up and felt like in love but with that place and in my head was a wierd feeling of lightness. I almost had to force myself to be anxious again to feel normal. Meditation is TOUGH tho, first year was a torture but i felt some moments that were changing my life, i had two visions in some kind of spiral, like a wormhole type thing. I saw a house and a some type of contract. Hint, i am looking for a place to live and i do music, lately my creativity bursted, i almost feel fear how different i feel now i need time to accept it. Meditation is for courageus people i feel and i had no choice to be corageus in that deep depression i was a year ago.
So yea, i am looking foward to expirience more of those places i was in my dreams coz my health is changing so fast. Cheers
Probably correct?. You could see all possible timelines through a fractal. Zooming in on an area would reveal a timeline, and the black area (which is to say the black area of a 2 dimensional fractal) could represent the beginnings of each timeline, which is an infinite number in itself. Outwardly of the black border is positive infinity, the "real" dimensions, and inwards are "imaginary" worlds, and the non-existent/negative. That's my thoughts on the matter. Some have pointed out in the comments that this feels "familiar". The reason could be that fractals are as close as we can get to imitating organic shapes with math. Anyone interested in the subject should read Mandelbrot's (father of fractals) "The Fractal Geometry of Nature".
He points out that if you wanted to define the shape of a tree or a cloud or a coastline, there are no euclidean primitives (squares, triangles, cubes, etc) that do it any justice at all. However, with fractals, you can come MUCH closer. Think of a tree. It starts from one line (the trunk), which then splits into branches. Those branches then split into more branches, and so on. We all know that a tree is not a triangle or a circle on top of a rectangle, it is a series of branches and leaves. Fractals might just be the underlying math for how organic shapes are defined in our universe. I can't do it much justice here and I'm still a novice on the subject, but that might be the reason for the feelings of familiarity.

It amazes me that, I saw extremely similar images in early my early twenties on big doses of acid. One night, I took far too much and I remember walking around late at night, it was cloudy but the sky was purple and had patterns exactly like some of these animations covering the sky. Needless to say, after I saw that, I took a year break and only dropped acid a few more times.

Does anyone else see a muted, dark, and kind of grainy version of this type of imagery when they close their eyes, during hypnagogia? I've always kind of seen this type of thing when I close my eyes for long enough, and I've never quite found a video that looked like it until now. It's always extremely dark, but looks kind of light-up and glowy in places, and sometimes it kind of looks like a magic eye, but it's these types of 3D shapes. I know this sounds weird, but I've always seen a very darkened version of this type of stuff when I close my eyes, and it moves the same way too, constantly either zooming in on what looks like an extra terrestrial landscape that I can never touch down on, or swirling around to find a new spot to zoom in on. It does this at almost at the same speed as is seen here. Does anyone know if there is a word for this type of hypnagogia?

@@leonardo0685 Yeah that! Once I started smoking weed, I also noticed that it was a lot more vivid when I was high, but ever since I was a kid I've been seeing it to some degree. It was more visible in childhood than adulthood as well.
I've had the same exact experience. I remember doing it all the time as a kid and now I have to really focus on relaxing my eye muscles and being in complete darkness.
Yes when I close my eyes and relax, and let my eyes "see" what is in the darkness. It is exactly like this, just far grainier.

Wait...so I’ve just started looking into what fractals really are and this being the first video I’ve watched. Is seeing this type of thing in dreams as a kid common with people? I’m 27 now but up until I was 7 or 8 I would have reoccurring dreams as an entity moving through space made up of what I now know is called fractals. Pretty vividly too unlike any other dreams I’ve had and the strange part that i haven’t seen anyone talk about is with my experience getting too close to the fractals themselves would give me what I can only closely describe as a electromagnetic shock through my soul (was not in a human body). I’m genuinely interested in exploring this type of stuff so if anyone has information they can provide, (literally anything) I would greatly appreciate it.

@@queenieqt2033Late response to you too but I experienced the same, except I vividly remember being in what I later found out to be the DMT waiting rooms. Several of the images I saw of people’s drawings of them were damn near identical to what I remember. I would like to know more

This is to date my favorite fractal animation video. I like how you sort of tell a story that takes us from geometric structures to more organic looking forms. At times I feel like I'm watching the formation of bones and skulls. Coral forms become architecture. The wall between the organic and the fabricated is melted by mathematics and the nature of all form.

i came here cause i saw chocolate chip cookie mushrooms in the video and wanted to know what was up, ended up realizing this is exactly what i see in my minds eye when i eat shitloads of mushrooms.
