Live tracking has not worked most of the day and a tiny amount of video footage? What's the point of the race if no one can see it?
these red bull supporting junkies have to drink a good german beer, berhaps then there will shine a light between the bull ears:-)))))))))))))

Was painful trying to figure out what was up all day today with the dodgy live tracking. Hopefully sorted out for tomorrow 🤞
@@cabanford it's still not working. Good motion for maybe 2 or 3 minutes, and then it fails. This looks like a simple case of server overload. Whoever is their provider, needs to allocate more resources.
@@NelsonsWings it's tolerable in 2d (rather than 3d) fwiw :/
@@WBtimhawkEven the 2D is glitchy. 2D is a poor substitute. Many of us prefer 3D. The effect is amazing, you can see the other Pilots around the pilot you're following, you can pan up and down you can zoom in any direction.
@@WBtimhawk it's broken into 2d also. I have it on good authority that the problem is they stopped using the flymaster tracking devices and they switched to the bullitt app/ device/phone combo. That system glitches constantly, and then the tracking points fall back to their inreach equivalent. Trouble is, those are only updated every two minutes
Ok, there was like 3 seconds of video footage, it is progress. Recap is a good idea, but more footage of the stuff you're filming all day long within the show.
The chat with Gavin are great ! Really cool to hear the insights from somebody who's been there, done that. Would be cool if the recap included the position of the various athletes on the map with comments on their options and whatnot.

how come all athletes doesn't have a live stream 360?! we have the tech for that. there is so much potential here. i wish that next year we could see it live with the apple new glasses, that can be amazing. 🤞🤞🤞

Awesome race but a pity how little footage there is to be seen :( Also the live tracking is far from on point. So sad how poor coverage X alps has had edition after edition. Thx anyway for bringing the race to us with the resources you have.
red bull live tracking was totally out of control today. Maurer, for example, was at 21 place in the list, suddenly late afternoon he was leading..... altitude measurement several hours not visible---- a real redbull shit fpr watching. totally ridiculous:-))
So much potential of this event but so little coverage in the news. Where are the new technologies ? where are the RedBull marketing genius ? where are the touristic and brand managers ?
Livetracking is ok (if it works) but nowadays we have much cooler technology... BUT thx for your hard work making this event possible. Thx to all this great athletes - you're my heros - each of you 😊

What an amazing day! Here in Western Canada the race is well underway by the time we get up, can't change that! I personally am enjoying the coverage, especially the air shots from Gavin, the initial gaggle was impressive and the 360 turns gives a good perspective. I was impressed how high he got over everyone else, probably on a less than fast wing too, nice 👍👍👍
Why is the editor of this video using the same stock flying footage from days ago? Incredibly lame and lazy. Kudos to Gavin for his analysis, but why no in-flight commentary? Hundreds of pilots on RUclips routinely talk while they're flying and incorporate that into their videos. It's trivially easy. You just get a Lapel mic put it inside your helmet or you put it inside a scarf and it works great. It's arrogant of the Red Bull x-alps video editing team to expect everyone to go to Facebook to see flying video clips.

Thanks for this, But too much talking and it soooooo needs some actions pictures. And live tracking was a shambles today. It is 2023. Man landed on the moon over 50 years ago. Surely there is better tech than this.
