I recently found you and all the runs I've seen your gameplay is so smooth and tactical. It feels more reactive than most speedruns where they stunlock the monster till it dies, that makes it seem reachable for semi-casuals like me to do with enough practise. I feel I learn more in your speedruns than anyone elses. I appreciate your content, thanks for the good work.
Yup, fast kill times aren't always skill dependant. Most of the runs are just about the ideal set-up and knowing how to position yourself. After that it's really just farming for good RNG. However Akantore's Glavenus run right here is a good example of skillful, reactionary gameplay. Imo it's much more impressive to be able to consistantly counter a monster and play flawlessly rather than getting the WR speedkill. Not saying those things are mutually exclusive, but simply having the fastest kill times doesn't necessarily mean that person is the best or even one of the best in terms of skill.
Much has to do with how broken Fatalis gear is, it is easily 3x~5x better than everything else in the game. You hit the monster once then he is flinching, again and he gets knocked down. Add that to other stuns like wall bangs, and yeah everything that's not Fatalis itself is a pinata now
But he's not using Fatalis weapons in this video lol. I'm not even sure Fatalis was a thing when this came out.. Unless you're referring to the stunlock speedruns which I'd understand, although I think 3-5x better might be a bit of a stretch lol. Maybe 25-50% better @@affegpus4195

I usually have to do a charge O - Triangle+O twice before I get red, but I keep seeing everyone else get full really quick. Is it a buff somewhere? It's a little bit more complicated than that I'm afraid. In some cases, Guard Point into SAED works, but in Iceborne monsters are pretty tanky and won't flinch after one of those Super Amped Elemental Discharges. You can always risk it, but you will leave yourself pretty open if the monster brshes it off, making it it almost a guarantee to get it afterwards. If you want a safer method, you can try the Savage Axe playstyle. Activate Savage Axe, to amplify your axe hits and stay in sword mode, until you knock down the monster, KO it with Guard Point -> AED and then go ham in axe mode. If you are wondering: "What does any of that mean? How do I do an SAED/AED? How do I activate Savage Axe?" then I'd recommend you to watch ArekkzGaming and Team Dark Sides Beginner and Advanced Charge Blade Guides. Sollte einfach zu finden sein.

@Zoran mate that's just sad, I feel happy knowing that my nothing comment has made you waste that much time for something that doesnt matter in the slightest
Because capcom dont really know how to balance CB. After 4 Ultimate they've tried it in Gen, Gen U and World and failed every time. The only way to make anything other than SAED spam optimal is to revert the weapon to how it was in 4U. You lose the red shield buff if you use SAED which means you have to work your way back from 0 phials to everything buffed to use it again. People cried a lot back in 4U because the weapon was too OP but the way it works now is even more OP.
The guy's using a build optimised for spamming SAEDs. There are elemental and other builds that make use of savage axe over SAEDs for specific match ups, like monsters who move too much.
@@Ocean5ix I agree. CB in 4U really wasn't OP, it was a very skill dependant, reactionary weapon capable of dealing a ton of burst damage. If it needed a nerf, then in terms of motion values and not in terms of moveset. The moveset was perfect. Now we have Rise's CB and after maining it in 4U, GU, World and Iceborne, I stopped in Rise because CB is just a completely different weapon now. Savage Axe and the wirebug mechanics turned it into something that no longer resembles 4U's original design, which is by far my favourite. I'd argue Longsword's moveset was also the best in 3U/4U, once Valor Longsword became a thing it just became the brokenly OP noobstick in all following games.

@@awesomesauce5974 there's multiple quests in the chain, the first one is for NEB and bludgeoner, second one gives razro sharp
So how exactly does he do that block so often? I never really got into world but with Iceborne I wanna try picking up this game and using the charge blade :)
But Where is Misses Glavenus?
Man I’m so glad you’re not using acid glav cb. That weapon’s sharpness is not good
Does that even matter for cb? Btw acidic has like 290 raw (for switchaxe tough so i guess its same) while others ranges 240-270.
I know so glad to see rathian cb finally see some love, been my fav since original release
@@obi-wan3916 oh yeah the azure skylark from 4 ultimate was hella dope!! Too bad that they change the design i liked the mix of pink and blue!! 😁🤙
Well if you have handicraft level 4 or 5 and the protective polish jewel it's not that bad!!! 😉😁👍
Sharpness is irrelevant for CB.
How do you farm those MR jewels? Specifically Guardian/Attack jewel? Thanks
At jagras
Mr monsters, its r n g. Not mr tempered those will mix gem rewards with augment mats.
You get it randomly at the end of any MR quest/investigation they always reward one R9 deco or maybe R10, you could kill 10 hornetaurs from MR investigation and try your luck
Yeah i know it's rng but it could be sniping, it's too fishy getting 3 guardian/attack jewel just relying on rng
What is this build?
a roar can be blocked by guarding?
If you want to learn CB, Akantore is the man to watch and learn from.
Great way to start your Ib Speedruns :D
I know u did the Endboss but that didn´t count xD
The boss that make me stop playing Icebir nas a dual blade main.
This was a beautiful duel, glavey-kun needs to hone his blade skills
Im learning Guard point on a real hunt!
