All the travel that pro wrestlers do, all the injuries... Andre's done that. While dealing with acromegaly to boot. There's a reason he's so venerated. He is a legend.

Black Jack Mulligan was gutcy enough to punch Andre. But paid for it when Andre pumbled the crap out of him and showed little to No effect from the sucker punch.
I watched Andre wrestle in Cincinnati Ohio in 1981. He was still healthy and in good shape. What fans saw in his later years after his disease ravaged his body was a man who could barely walk. What I saw in '81 was frightening. Seeing a man that large move around the ring with the speed of a 200 lbs. man sticks with me to this day. Thankfully, for his fellow wrestlers for sure, Andre truly was, a gentle giant.
I KNOW I CAN Be what I wanna be lol I was born in 2005 and everyone my age has seen it 😂 tbh u still have time to watch it and I’m sure you would love it!
Yeah, He should not have been stubborn back then, and took that surgery he would have been here today and lived, taught other wrestlers and maybe even work with the Undertaker
His documentary on HBO made me shed a couple tears, when he speaks and the stuff you hear, they say it many time in the doc but he literally was a gentle giant. Like it’s crazy how articulate he was considering his growth
I wouldn't call his story tragic. I would call it beautiful. He lived a magnificent life, and had one of the coolest roles in one of the greatest movies of all time.
He was living in extreme pain he died very young at the age of 46 I would not call that a good life especially when he was bullied. I'm not a wrestling fan but maybe was in one of my favorite all-time movies The Princess Bride
The fact that he didn't bite back when being bullied showed he was big AND STRONG. It's not weak to refrain from violence and it wasn't strength that the people picking on him showed. If they had any inkling that Andre would've even flicked their foreheads, they would've ran tails tucked. They knew Andre wouldn't risk getting in trouble for standing up for himself. I'm not a giant, but I'm thick and very strong for a woman. Anybody that knows me, knows about my weird strength. My people just tend to have sort of super human strength. My dad stopped a station wagon from driving away from him by picking up the rear end and keepig the wheels off the ground. Anyway, I have had that experience of being bullied by idiots and having to refrain from retaliating. Because I know if I let myself snap, it'll do terrible damage and bullies aren't worth catching charges or jail time for. It is difficult to exhibit self control in those circumstances but it's not weakness. The times that I have come the closest to snapping, was when somebody was bullying my kids.
Andre was a friend of my father in law, and would visit his family when in the area. My husband has fond memories of sitting on his huge knee as a child while the grownups played cards. He describes Andre the Giant as the nicest, gentlest, most social person ever, and looked up to him in much more than just a physical way. :-) Rest in peace.
Andre also developed diabetes, due to a tumor. He was hired to play a Bigfoot Creature in a Grade B movie, "The Capture of Bigfoot," made by a small Wisconsin studio. They'd had a shaggy costume made to fit him, not an easy job, and everybody on the shoot enjoyed his company, but he wasn't careful about his diet and overdid it with food and drink dangerous to diabetics and was hospitalized. Everyone involved was greatly worried about him and when he couldn't continue, they had to go on without him. The writer/director spoke of him often and was a great fan of TPB, along with the rest of us. That movie wouldn't have been nearly as good without Fezzik. Repose en paix, notre ami.
Was that the one where the Bigfoot's arm was torn off, so he tucked it under his other arm and hot-footed it out of there? I wonder if that's on RUclips, 'cuz I'd like to see it again, knowing it was Andre. I've always wondered if "The Capture of Bigfoot" would've been a better movie if Andre had played the creature. His size probably would've looked looked much more impressive than the substitute. I've always thought Andre and Mandy Patinkin stole "The Princess Bride"---though Cary Elwes was no slouch in the sword-fighting scene.
*P.S.* Yes, Andre's fans can find clips, and even the full episode, of that on RUclips---and I just realized one of the reasons why the "The *Six-Dollar Man,"* as one of the kids called it, was so hokey: everything that moved through the air, from a ball of wadded up paper to a Sasquatch, whistled like falling ordnance. (But we watched it anyway, didn't we?) And I think I'm right, Andre's size would've made Bigfoot a lot more impressive.
Good one, Mr. Stoic! You just prompted me to watch it again this weekend. I think other studios, directors, producers, etc., should watch this movie once in a while to see how it should be done!

So many gentle giants. I must have been tough living his life. If only.... A buddy of mine is 6'9" tall. He's also one of those guys who is a gentle giant. I guess at that size, it's either be gentle or scare everyone off. But in André's case, my heart goes out to him.
Anything over 6 foot 8 inches is considered a giant so even if Andre is at 6 ft 11 in he is still a giant. One of the most kind friendly people there ever was I haven't heard one person say anything bad about Andre Vince make a man hurt him. He made him wrestle Hulk Hogan with back problems which probably led to his death sooner than later tragedy
Greg G umm..how about anyone taller than 6’3 is a titan..watered down from the original giants..cuz the AVERAGE human height is like 5’9 I think nonetheless man wasn’t born to be tall..MAN..
What they didn't mention during the princess bride segment was that he was in so much pain he couldn't actually do any of the acts like lifting the other actors in his scenes- It's really sad, R.I.P Andre
My gransdon is 6ft 7 and he finds everything difficult, he mainly has bad back problems but still does everything he can for everyone. Never judge a book by its cover!
Andre's life was far from a tragedy. Its not how long you live that matters, its what you do while you're here. Andre was a legendary worldwide superstar.
This man is a legend. He is my childhood memory, and for some reason i used to quote him in princess bride a lot! He died before i was born but i loved him anyway.
The tallest that Andre was officially measured at was 7' and one half inch .... I saw him wrestle in NYC on several occasions , and met him after a card at a local high school when I was around 11 or 12. His incredible height was one thing, his sheer mass was another ! He was very friendly and gracious at that time. RIP Andre
I'm learning about acromegaly for my final exam tomorrow, and I see this, now I'm crying my eyes out bc he seems like such a kind man and the world was cruel to him. May your kind soul Rest in peace
My dad and Andre grew up together. He came to my parents wedding and my dad and him would hang out some times. My dad told me one of the stories he had with Andre was that he drank 10 12 packs of bud light and 3 full glasses of wine and nothing would happen. Not even tipsy. I have more stories. Like some from my parents wedding. Funny enough, my dad is good friends with Shane McMahon. I’ll tell more stories is people ask.
i was lucky to see Andre at a WWF/E house show in Vancouver BC (Canada), he was huge. And it was when he was a heel, so he didn't smile or engage with the crowd.

He could have lived much longer if he took care of his health. He had horrible eating and drinking habits. I’m sure he was in pain being that big but he did nothing to help his life.
Hl A means nothing! He became a superstar wrestler and an actor, he could have changed his habits at anytime but he didn’t. He was an idol to millions don’t wanna hear how he was bullied. He was an amazing human being but didn’t care about his own health plan and simple.

Hearing that “the giant gentle heart stop beating” really got me RIP to this man what a legend🙏🏼
A true kind heart amongst the evils that surrounded him. I wish I could’ve of met him. You will always be remembered Andre.
This man is a legend. He may seem like a scary dude but he’s a nice dude.
Today (may 19th) is what would have been his 73rd birthday if he was still alive
RIP Andre 😭
What they didn't mention during the princess bride segment was that he was in so much pain he couldn't actually do any of the acts like lifting the other actors in his scenes-
It's really sad, R.I.P Andre
This was truly an amazing tribute. Kudos to all involved in this.
we love Andre the Giant!😊 💞💓❤❤👈
My gransdon is 6ft 7 and he finds everything difficult, he mainly has bad back problems but still does everything he can for everyone. Never judge a book by its cover!
" a man who caught everyone's eye, but who few people really saw" 😭😭
Andre's life was far from a tragedy. Its not how long you live that matters, its what you do while you're here. Andre was a legendary worldwide superstar.
I guess you didn't watch the video.
This man is a legend. He is my childhood memory, and for some reason i used to quote him in princess bride a lot! He died before i was born but i loved him anyway.
I love how he is a gentle giant and loved all of his fans. Rip andre, Doing wrestling matches and making angels laugh and happy in heaven
RIP Andre
I meet him in france. Thats a real Honor for me
Big man, big plans
big meat
Big show

Thanos in Real Life
Shaggy could still use 2% of his power and destroy him
Shaggy only needs 0.1% of his power
D3cRYPTEd Animations i was about to arest that guy but you saved him because every one knows that he didn't even use 0.5% of his power
Aditya Waghmare PAINT HIM PURPLE JKKSKSKJSKSK
D3cRYPTEd Animations holy shit there’s still retards thinking that the shaggy meme is funny
This is sad i only knew him through wwe games growing up
I'm learning about acromegaly for my final exam tomorrow, and I see this, now I'm crying my eyes out bc he seems like such a kind man and the world was cruel to him. May your kind soul Rest in peace
“By every measure, Andre The Giant was a whole lot of man” 😳😳😳

Grunge: What was your favorite thing he did?
Me: Exist
This is what I call a strong man, not those kids today at the gym that take roids.
Please tell us more stories thanks!
That's so very cool !! :)
Cap
i was lucky to see Andre at a WWF/E house show in Vancouver BC (Canada), he was huge. And it was when he was a heel, so he didn't smile or engage with the crowd.
straight up THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME period !! HE WILL BE FOREVER MISSED
I USE TO WATCH WRESTLING IN HOPKES OF SEEING ANDREON!WHEN HE WASN'T I WAS MAD!NOONE WILL EVER REPLACE HIM HE MADE WRESTLING !!! R I P ANDRE!!
4:19 wait.. is that trump in the middle?
yup
Yeah, when he wasn’t as much of a dickhead.
Kori Lee he’s still not one
Yonkzy what did the family do
Yonkzy it’s his family do you think it’s easy for his son to disagree with his father? Anyway it’s none of the sons fault that he got involved in politics same with Melania Trump
5:00 that picture is beautiful. Andre got what he deserved. The championship. He did it.
Hl A Nor do you Pumpkin so zip it. Actually drinking a beer or two or 106
CB W it depends on the body type
Jeez, if I had his medical issues, I don't think I'd want to live all that long, either.
Hl A thats the same lame ass excuses the fat acceptance movement makes.
Andre was soooooo cute in the princess bride!
I’m not crying...
;-;
Me neither

Boom Boom so this is sad how? There's thousands dying each day and one death is sad?
no there are thousands of deaths each day and one famous man with a hard and sad life story just died a man we followed on tv who brought us memories back when we saw this video. a special man.
+Black M&M yea but they PROBALY had a good life and it's a natural thing this man has a horrible lifw
Fun fact: you didn’t search this up
Arman and Rayhan channel Obviously
I did
Yeah i just search this lol
Actually I did
I just did after seeing an interview with him.
Before passing his health was slowly getting physically sick. But he wouldn't stop wrestling his heart was starting to give away
Rest in peace Andre, you will be missed.
A giant among giants.
He was a true living angel amongst us. Being 6'4, I know how he felt with all the unwanted attention and remarks.
People are talking about remaking the Princess Bride. People, there’s never gonna be a giant to fit Andre’s roll, even if he had the same body structure as him.
I had no idea who he was when he came into a bar where I worked. I couldn't believe the size of the guy.
