Hi everyone! Today is a special day - it's my three year anniversary on youtube!! I thought I would finally sit down and talk about my tattoo journey and do a tattoo tour today! I always have been putting a tattoo tour off but I finally decided to sit down and tell you all about my tattoo journey over the years. It's been an incredible journey so far, thank you for following along with me :))))

I didn't think getting tattooed by women was different but how are they GENTLE! My main tattoo artist is a woman and she's so freaking talented. Im getting my whole leg done by her and my sternum soon too. Love all your pieces and how you developed your love for tattoos. It's a beautiful spiritual experience

💓Thank you so much for sharing your story. I feel I have to share mine now. Lol. I walked into a studio without any research of who works there. I had no idea what Instagram was and was confused by the lack of photos or flash in the shop. Tim was so patient and polite about having to stop tattooing to address me and explained how I could look for an artist. After looking through hours of Instagram I couldn't believe that the artist who helped me that day was (in my opinion) top tier and the style I was after. I had one beautiful otter done on my ribs before he moved to a different state! Now I go see him on vacation every year to get tattooed by him. And guess what? I'm not the only one who does this. I feel so lucky and fortunate to have his art all over me. My next session is in June. Cheers!

I'm currently hyping myself up to finally schedule an appointment with the artist I've picked. I feel if I don't finally make a move it's never gonna happen and I have always had this drive to be tattooed quite heavily. So thank you for this video, seeing your eyes light up while you talk about the tattoos and how you got them makes me feel sure that I will feel the same about mine.

As of yesterday I have 21 tattoos, I’m in the process of lasering or covering up 5 of them. It’s a JOURNEY with your body! It’s okay to change things because you have grown!

Started watching recently for I just started getting tattooed as of 2020. only have five but want to be covered. this channel gives me a lot of good info and tips on just how to exist in the community along with setting up my own ideas in the future. Also doesn’t make me feel like a headass somehow lol. Keep up the dopeness the brows throw me off but they still look good 💓

💓 I’m going through removal of a couple tattoos right now that I didn’t speak up for and they didn’t come out how I’d like (my fault mostly). But I am also feeling really bitter about tattoos right now and can’t wait to make it out on the other side like you and love my arm again (also planning a sleeve cover up). Videos like your keep me inspired and not giving up on tattoos.

i have to say your story is awesome, i totally identify with having a will to change and feel a bit lost, still searching for a path that warms my heart as well, in such love with tattoos too, maybe ill try it, who knows...
I exclusively get tattooed by women/queer ppl now, only 2 of mine are done by men and fortunately my experiences were fine but i've heard too many horror stories of disgusting male tattooers taking advantage of clients etc, and as you said getting tattooed by a woman is just so different and to me always such a lovely experience 💓
Too many people don’t research the artist they’re going to. It blows my mind how many people don’t put in the effort and end up with a garbage tattoo or horror story
@@wienersmcbutts It isn't always possible to find out in advance if a tattoo artist is untrustworthy or not. I agree with the OP. Better to be safe than sorry and stick to female tattoo artists.
me too :) I stand by this, and it’s not like many of these men aren’t already getting work. I’m picky and sensitive and I want a vibe that feels comforting and safe. I think it’s just easier to find women who are kind and comforting, don’t get me wrong lol there’s plenty of woman and queer tattoo artists that give me ick I just would rather play it safe. I find it hard to feel safe with a man I don’t know at this point in time but I’m open to getting tattooed by a really well researched guy in the future.
As a guy I’ve had the opposite experience as you.

Your experience is so inspiring! I have only one small tattoo, but in two weeks I am getting another one, which is super special to me, so I can't wait till I finally get it. I adore tattoos so much and I've been thinking about maybe becoming a tattoo artist in the future, but I dunno about that yet, I haven't thought about it seriously. I wish you all the best in life in general and in your tattoing carier in particular

Wow, it’s been such a journey for you! I really would like to as well, but don’t know where to start, and people in NYC are eh about it… cus I’ve asked my own tattoo artist about it and it kind of sounded like gatekeeping behavior, so I stopped thinking of that idea. 😔

would you ever consider doing a video about tattoo vanish? It's supposed to be an all natural less painful and more effective tattoo removal compared to laser. I wasn't sure since you're now in the industry if you or anyone else have experience or opinions on it
Knee was sharp, top of foot is definitely not fun, but ankle though?
ANKLE! holy mother of god, by far the most painful thing I have experienced in a tattoo, looks sick but I cannot recommend getting your ankles tattooed.

It’s so interesting how different people’s experiences with tattoo pain are. I would get my ankle tattooed again instantly, it was a bit tickly if anything, didn’t hurt it all. My thigh was horrible though, my skin was just so sensitive for some reason. The tattoo artist said she’s never seen someone’s skin get this red and swollen during a tattoo session 🫠

For the pieces that you know will be painful, do you use numbing cream? I’ve never used it but probably would’ve been happy to have it for my newest one (ribs and side).

I've always know I wanted to be tattooed too! I recently started getting bigger/more visible pieces. That's ultimately what I want, begin semi heavily tattooed, but I kinda struggle with my surroundings and the permance of it all. Do you (or anyone reading this) have any tips regarding that?
I’m at the same point in my tattoo journey from the sound of your comment! Exciting times! 🖤 This may seem overly deep or spiritual, but I cope with the permanence by reminding myself that my body is a temporary vessel and I might as well decorate it however I please. Hope this helps! Much love
