Soooo........Kala Scarpinski (Kala Rose) is her name, she was 11 here. She is now 19, and has her own band, Saving Escape (all OMF alumni). Her first video with OMF was "Chain of Fools" (Aretha Frankin), which is...fucking...amazing, at 10 years old. She went on to record many songs with OMF, Pull Me Under-Dream Theater, Cosmic Love-Florence+The Machine, The Longest Day-Iron Maiden (My personal favorite), Sober-Tool, The Pot Version 2-Tool, and Crazy Horse-Black Label Society. She also has many videos on here of her solo work over the years. "Spoke in the Wheel", by Black Label Society is amazing and worth the listen, so much talent for such a young girl. Lastly, Saving Escape has I believe 2 albums out, and are picking up steam. All of the OMF stuff is great, and I suggest you check out more of their stuff.
She has been a star for OMF for a while now and yeah, she is really talented. I have seen a few other things by her both solo and with her band. It is really cool that OMF gives these kids some awesome real world recording experience. I want MY kids to go there!
You know it's a good cover when you hear the original Tool version come up on your playlist and you're a little disappointed when you realize it's "just" Tool. lol
I really enjoy the calm demeanor of the bassist. He's so in control and executing the rhythm with the drummer! He holds them all together! I love it!!!
My favorite part is at the end when the drummer is standing up, beating that cymbal like it said something about his mama. Everything I've seen of these kids is top notch.
my favourite part is in between the beginning of the song and its end, hhhahahahahahaha. But you are right, the drummer is sooo great, especially at the end. And how Kala shrugs her shoulders at the end of her singing ... and the sparkle in her eyes ....... priceless. At all: all band members are so concentrated and use their tones precisely like surgical cuts. Incredible!
Crazy Horse by Black Label Society / O'Keefe Music Foundation .........is also a good one (same singer but it was her last one since she is 19 now and too old for the program)
I've seen this video like a 1000 times lol these kids are just phenomenal with everything that they do especially with this song cuz it's my favorite Tool song lol Watching these kids always give me hope for our music's future
You're the first reactor I've seen that caught what is my favorite part! Where said she was sassy. At 5:42, they're showing the drummer going ham on the drums as she says "listen to my muscle memory" and the camera cuts to the singer and she gives that look to the camera and kind of gives a half smile, as if to say, "Yeah, I know we're killin' it" LOL. Great reaction!!
A couple of these kids have continued to be musicians. The singer is Kala Rose. Her and at least one other kid in the video are in a band called Saving Escape. Kala has a RUclips channel and so does the band.
Check out O'Keefe Music Foundation "Du Hast" cover by Rammstein too! It's also epic! God u wish I went to a music school like this! They way they involve all the kids is fantastic! And let's give it up for the creativity n freedom going on at this Music School! Incredible! Forget Julliard! OKMF is the place id wanna get into! 😳😮👏👏🔥🔥✌️👍
Seeing the early Kala Rose is always amazing. All of OMF do incredible work, the drummer turns into a real beast on the kit in later videos. Kala is just awesome. About every single video I've seen has been incredible, you'd be hard pressed to find a more random mix of fantastic youths giving their all for rock music. Impressive is an understatement.
O'Keefe Music Foundation is just freaking awesome, and Kala was the star that made their channel so big. For more of her try "Chain of Fools" Aretha Franklin cover, where she was younger and also the Dream Theater song they did. She is not the only talent with O'Keefe so there's a ton that is worthy of a check.
Everybody in the video is amazing! And the arrangement is perfect! Anybody else see the bass player @ 6:20 come over the top of the neck and give it a quick slide? Very impressive all around.
OMF has so many good covers I wouldn’t even know where to start making suggestions. Just please start reacting to more of them. These kids are amazing. Duality, Psychological, Revolution Is My Name, Pull Me Under are just a few
This is one of my favorite videos in the world and want to shout out the Videographer and all who made the video because that is what makes it..along with the talent!!- I've praised them for years!
HUGE shout out to OMF for that sick arrangement! To deconstruct that complex song and distribute the parts throughout all the instruments was genius. Great reaction vid!
The O'Keefe content is incredibly well produced/edited. Would love to see the results of a live product but have always enjoyed the stuff from this studio.
Love your reactions! I love Tool and this may be a better version. Love that you were smiling the whole time, dude. That was my reaction :) Tool is not easy to play. Instruments are super fast and Maynard changes tones a lot. They all killed it! Rock still has a future
Kayla Rose is such a talented singer. Don't even get me started on the two dudes on drums and bass. Extremely talented musicians regardless of their ages.
It's just nice to see how children make music so professionally and not just sit behind a Playstation ;). The drummer finally hits the cymbels as if they owe their money. Lady Suzi Q and Sir Travis you are the best :)
Guys I'm so excited I just saw you reap what you sow on the music recording network. That's Mike Cross the first reaction channel I subbed during the pandemic. Going to let Sonny know also . Great reaction to the kids. Peace ✌️ from Stan the Alaskan.
Curtis Moss is the drummer. He picked the song for this about 6 months before recording it. Eight years has past and several of these kids are now part of bands. Kala Rose has her own band out of Cincinnati. Curtis is in Nashville with a band called Backhand Blue. Look on RUclips for Backhand Blue, in a couple years you'll see them in concert.
I’m just seeing this, whether you show it or not, check out drummer Meytal Cohen doing a drum cover to this. She rocks, also check out the two albums of her band called Meytal!
Anyone who doesn't hear the vocalist tone as sublime perfection needs their ears checking, I nearly cried after realising I'd never hear that perfect tone again as her voice will change so much as shes now older......this is it, a once in lifetime performance of utter perfection by all that I'll remember til I die.🙏❤️
When I was in my teens it was in our Drummers grandmas basement because she was pretty much deaf, playing Kiss, AC/DC, Motley Crue and faster pussycat. ..... And I still turned into a pretty good engineer ( I played guitar but found I was much better behind a console) that mixed 1000's of shows and legends from every Genre for almost 20 years. I hope they go far.
Dont know why but I watched every damn reaction to this awesome cover...an your reaction was by far the best...I like how at the end you both were quite...that there said alot about how much you both truly enjoyed it...oh I loved the comment about laya getting her sassy on....I too noticed that ..it's one my favorite part of this cover...goin go see if y'all reacted to crazy horse...praying you did.....one last thing I'm for sure goin try watch some videos of y'all's band...you are in a band ...rite...?
I'm so proud of those kids that every time I watch this video it brings a little tear to my eye.
Those drums owed that kid money

Yeah, that video for "Chain of Fools" is incredible. Someone that young singing like that is remarkable.
She has been a star for OMF for a while now and yeah, she is really talented. I have seen a few other things by her both solo and with her band. It is really cool that OMF gives these kids some awesome real world recording experience. I want MY kids to go there!

Wow.... as a long time Tool fan and man of 54yrs all I can say is wow. Feel like the torch is being passed. So cool.

Seriously if these kids took it on the road with just this one performance! The mind boggles
These kids will save the world, the video is old, but play 46 and 2 at that age, and that with that passion is heartwarming ....
I really enjoy the calm demeanor of the bassist. He's so in control and executing the rhythm with the drummer! He holds them all together! I love it!!!

You're the first reactor I've seen that caught what is my favorite part! Where said she was sassy. If you guys ever want to be blown away by a kid with amazing vocals? Go see the one OMF did of Number of the Beast.
That's a great comparison, Lacey sturm, who i have loved since her Flyleaf days. Great vice.
