@@Colonel169 Because in NSW and most of Australia, most multi-lane roads are not a free-for-all with 'it's my lane whenever I feel like it' rules. On multi-lane roads where marked by 'keep left unless overtaking' signs or where speeds are above 80kph, the law clearly states that you MUST keep left unless you are either overtaking, turning right, avoiding an obstacle or unable to overtake due to traffic. This road is both above 80kph AND has a literal "keep left unless overtaking" sign and the van driver still ignored both. It's a big deal because by breaking this law it means that they are either ignorant of this law, careless about the law, driving unpredictably or are unaware of their surroundings, all of which are equally scary that this person obtained a license. So it's about obeying the law and driving predictably for the cars behind you, which increases safety and gives them confidence that the driver ahead isn't asleep, incompetent or on drugs. Furthermore, the area the police sit along this stretch of Mona Vale Rd meant that the van had likely been in that lane the entirety of the 90kph zone, creating a dangerous situation because the dashcam car and other cars couldn't pass on the right and didn't know if the van driver might 'wake up' and correct their mistake (creating another dangerous situation). Also keep in mind that watching a dashcam replay, things look a lot further away than they are in real life driving at 90kph. It's definitely an interesting contrast, looking at driving cultures where "stay on one side unless passing" is required, v others (like everywhere I've driven), where no one cares & no law requires. I find it kinda amusing that some seem to care so much about how others act... even when it's not affecting them.
Australia is a open air prison if u didn't know there is a rule for everything. Aussies just love being controlled like sheep by overreaching government
From what I've heard from cop mates, the American cars do not like being driven hard and break really easily whereas the BMW's and other euros stand up well to the abuse the HWP dish out. That being said, that 6.4 does sound glorious
2:29 He was pulled over for turning left at a roundabout from the right hand lane where the lane markings were clear that all he was permitted to do was turn right or go straight ahead. Not for what you state it is. OK.
Hello john , thats a negative OK .seems your having issues with the concept of direction the driver that was pulled over DID GO STRAIGHT OK . there was no left turn on roundabout from that side is was a 3 entry/exit roundabout OK , the lane they were in could yes go straight to right and they went straight OK . so they were pulled over for what i stated OK . Obviously your have issues with direction you may have this see link and try to get some help :)www.dyslexia-reading-well.com/directional-dyslexia.html#:~:text=Extreme%20difficulty%20distinguishing%20right%20from,not%20with%20Lexia%20(words).
What I hate is that some drivers put their left indicators on before entering the roundabout while they are actually going staight or they leave their right indicators on before exiting... Especially the first case, it's such a missleading when they are about to enter the roundabout from the entrance on your right hand side and you are giving way to them...
Fun Fact#1: Driving without lights on at night can be a sign of an intoxicated driver. Fun Fact#2: Or it can just be a sign that the street lighting in the area is really good so the driver can easily see the way and so didn't notice that he forgot to turn his lights on. (Guess who this has happened to?) (Only for a few seconds at a time, though) :D
2:29 If they had got time to stop and fine him, their matter couldn't have been that urgent. No urgent matter, no need to give way, no need for a fine at all!
At 8:18 the Taxi on the left must merge as the lane merges. He is ahead of the VW and puts his indicator on the VW speeds up to block the gap of what would otherwise have been an appropriate zip merge. Taxi did nothing wrong apart from probably merge aggressively in the end. There was no failure to give way. The cam car actually merged inside the intersection bounds which is illegal.
Hi alot to unpack and explain here , so no thats all incorrect , so teh Taxi driver wants to change lanes as their lane is ending , it doesnt matter they are ahead of teh other car its not relevant they his indicator on as they must indicate its teh law it doesnt mean they are allowed to change lane , the VW doesnt speed up the block VW Accelerate after they were taking off from the lights as as you do to get up to teh speed limit as you are meant to do , Next no that's NOT a zip merge , a zip merge is when 2 lane form 1 here the raxis lane is ending and they must change lanes and give way Hence the law quoted in the video 184 of the road rules act requires you to give way to traffic in the lane you wish to to change into that is why they were pulled over by the police . Re merge inside an intersection , No a merge as explained is a different thing , they changed lanes and No you are allowed to change lanes in an intersection it is not illegal thats a myth . make sense now ? also see video on merging to explain more :) ruclips.net/video/ru27rw7xhnA/видео.html
We have a law here in Massachusetts saying to "Keep Right Except When Passing" on freeways. Same principle as the "Keep Left Except When Passing" law you have in Australia, just for right hand drive countries. What's interesting that I notice is that around here in Massachusetts, people just don't care. I mean, I'll see police officers drive down the passing lane and never consider getting over even once. It's just become normal to do. Sure, it's *_illegal_* but so isn't whale hunting in the landlocked state of Kansas, so who knows. My best guess is that the population density around where I live is so high, the three lane highways just aren't big enough to warrant having one lane blocked off for passing only, if that makes any sense? Either way, I'm always interested and a little intimidated by the fact that there are some places that both have this same law, and enforce it too. I've wanted to move to Australia for a few years, now. It's one of the reasons I watch these videos, to get an idea of what it's really like to live there, to hear what the people are actually like, to know what it's like to commute there every day. If I go, though, I'm going to need to remember that this is a luxury that I won't have over there.
That's probably because the police are "policing" and consider the speed is correct for the conditions or as you point out could also be ars#holes,I would not take that up with them.
Overtaking lane isn't blocked it's reserved for overtaking or faster traffic,In the UK 70mph doesn't mean 70mph its means that's maximum speed and you can poodle on a motorway at 40mph on the left hand lane, hogging the overtaking lane at 40mph and vehicles approaching from behind at 70mph
@@Johnketes54 In Australia you can, and drivers do, get busted for "obstruction" for travelling too slow on any street or highway. Fairly unusual and you would probably have to be more 40 Kays under in the 100kph zone but it does happen. The cop would probably be thinking 'driving under the influence' as well.
I swear to god this is the first time I have witnessed someone actually get punished for blocking the overtaking lane. Even if a copper sees them they normally do fuck all about it, guess they get bigger dollar signs by ignoring it and waiting for someone to slip over the speed limit by a couple k's.
Probably depends on which unit sees them... My guess is GDs (General Duties) etc have too much other shit to do to bother for something relatively minor like that... Highway, on the other hand, traffic infringements is basically all they do. The one who got the guy in the video was highway, and always seems to be highway pinging people for the "smaller" traffic offences.
Here in Canada we have a problem with new cars in that if you do not turn on the lights so the little yellow beam on the dash display is on they only have driving lights at 60% of regular low beam and not a single bloody light on the back. I pulled up along side of a Mazda 3, similar to my wife's car and flashed my lights, did nothing, turned my interior lights on and rolled the window down and honked my horn! eventually the passenger rolled their window down and I yelled, turn your lights on. He said they were on auto!. I asked if his driver could see the yellow beam and he said no! a second or two later the rear lights came on and the front lights got brighter. I said leave them on and the car automatically turns them off when you shut the car off. It was raining that night and I almost ran over them before this. People, please do a proper light test by doing a circle check of your vehicle at least once a month to make sure you can be seen by other cars and trucks around you. Auto is not a wee German that lives in your dashboard keeping you safe! In my commercial truck that I drive, I have to do a circle check daily and put the results on line to fleet services so once in a month should not be a burden! Cheers
As I live in a nation where bad driving is the norm and little or no consiquences, I can't understand how someone in Australia world do these stupid things. Not long and the points used up and licence suspended. That would scare me.
That was great. Interesting to see the N.S.W. Police have chosen the Chrysler 300C as their front line weapon. In Queensland the police seem to be favouring the Kia Stinger to replace their V6 Camry's. With the Commodore and Falcon gone every state police department will have to look elsewhere I suppose.....

He was being a pr#ck I had it on my motorcycle and try to get me to admit to speeding,I informed him off his "ignorance" speedos(Tachometer I think) are NOT 100% so speedo error will occur and at that time it was 3mph plus 10% so my speedo could have read 30 mph but I was doing 34mph or 26mph, He dropped it with a warning and I responded no prosecute me and see what the judge decide,He got on his bike and rode off,F#cking pr#tt
I love when drivers actually pull themself over, it's a rare Civilised W and this is why I love Australia!
That last clip makes the copper just as bad double white lines and on a blind corner 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
yeah but come on mate. cops in Australia don't obey any laws anyway. why should double white lines mean much?
Gotta love that 'Police Academy' theme music! So empowering and uplifting! I almost wish police sirens actually played that music, because whenever it plays, you know there is going to be some mighty fine JUSTICE served! :D
~JD
The Mad Max theme is pretty good too!
Oh man I've got to watch Smokey and the bandit again
Finally, a video that I enjoyed. music was well added the video memes excellent. More of these, please...Good to see the coppers doing there job.wish more on the streets.
I agree on all counts! Quite entertaining indeed!
Ya fukn oath carnt, fully sik traxk
Agreed. Loved the music and clips from Police Academy and Smoky and the Bandit. Those were made in a time when the world had a sense of humor and we could laugh at ourselves (and each other :) ) without getting cancelled.
3.13 sukiyaki song on background music 🎶🎶🎶
8;30 that will definitely be a UK a driver. UK drivers always do this and think they have priority on a morgue like this. What the side mirror and Brits NEVER use their side mirrors either. It is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. I live in London and they amaze me each day. It’s like crossing a road without looking for cars. They never look. The Brits walk and drive the same
At this stage, we're going to need a SBTF special!
I was waiting for one till I realized this was the wrong channel. Lol
wrong channel ?
@@ScottsCarcameras ya I was thinking about Dash Cams Australia when I was waiting for a SBTF spacial.
On this channel, it would be "SBTF gets his comeuppance" :D
Vos vidéos sont agréables à suivre.
Comme quoi, même en Australie il y a des fous du volant.
Appreciate the Smokey and the Bandit clips LOL! fave movie of all time
Same here mate!
There’s a lot Fu... head in Queensland like that also does not indicate when they turn or changing lanes. the last three years has been really bad but no fu..one in the police force talking about it
Seems every day here on the Gold Coast im having to dodge some dumbass that really shouldn't have a licence
@@fraknrak9111 yes I think another of Gold Coast drivers got their licence from ricebubble packet's
Loving these uploads, thanks Scott!
Don't just thank him thanks for all the stupid people
This video just came up on in my suggestd video to watch and was not disappointed. When I go on my trip to Australia and I see a cop the police academy theme will play in my head. Lol
Very cool, nice to see them finally get busted, does not happen enough, and good old eugene tackleberry what a character he was.
Dave S The entire Police Academy are the coolest cops, Tackleberry included.
Love the Police Academy music and cut-ins...that just made my day.
Ahhhhhhhh one HAS to love the KARMIC goodness we’ve just watched. 👍👍👌👌❤️❤️
Great video to pass the time while inside , thanks looking forward to more tomorrow
I have a stock pile that will keep us going , plus lost fo videos in my archive you probably haven’t seen :)
@@ScottsCarcameras just a question, in that last police pullover, what did the station wagon do wrong? he overtook on a broken line and there is no law about coming back over...oh. maybe it was speeding
Speeding in road works zone
In regional Victoria almost no driver keeps left, and many of them are going under the speed limit, it drives me nuts.
Me too,but they will get the come uppence when someone slams into their slow ars# and shoves them up the road causing whiplash be some boy racer slamming into the back of grand dad
Remember people... 80kmh and under is a 2 lane road. Anything over 80kmh is a 1 lane road and 1 overtaking lane. So many drivers don't have a clue
It's definitely an interesting contrast, looking at driving cultures where "stay on one side unless passing" is required, v others (like everywhere I've driven), where no one cares & no law requires. I find it kinda amusing that some seem to care so much about how others act... even when it's not affecting them.
Australia technically has road rules like in europe but in practice everyone drives like its the USA with exception of higher roundabout skill.......
Australia is a open air prison if u didn't know there is a rule for everything. Aussies just love being controlled like sheep by overreaching government
Yeah! I hate that, when people don't give way at a roundabout. "Police.. where are you?!"
The music gets me everytime 😂
That's a lot of fun, and makes you feel better about your own mistakes. Thanks!
Buford T justice you couldn't have picked It any better 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣💯✅
oh lordy Scotty give us MOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR! love your work!
Love the Sheriff Beaufort T Justice inserts.
In perth it's really awful there is never a cop around when you need one no one hardly gives to people at roundabouts here
Respect to the guy at 7:35 who moved over a lane for the officer
These videos definatley make isolation so much better lol
This was the best thing I have seen in a while. Cheers from Texas USA!
Not a single jingle more cheerful on Earth than the Police Academy theme.
I love all the cartoon/movie clips in the videos!
I lol at the clips from that police comedy . So funny .
Smokey & the Bandit, Police Academy, Gordon Ramsay, etc. clips are an awesome touch !!
As a 300 SRT owner I love seeing the Core interceptors haul ass.
Those Hemi’s sound so freaking awesome!!!!!
6:28 sir do you know why I pulled you over?
I was hogging the overtaking lane officer?
no son, your fuel cap door was left open!
LMFAO
These compilations are so bloody satisfying 👍
Australian police cars sound sooooo good!
they used to when they used V8s. Now mainly BMW diesels or Mercedes
"They got him! Woohoo!" 😂 All of us when we see instant karma!
That 6.4 Hemi is glorious. Why'd they go with a diesel in the BMW's when they can have a V8 too.
From what I've heard from cop mates, the American cars do not like being driven hard and break really easily whereas the BMW's and other euros stand up well to the abuse the HWP dish out. That being said, that 6.4 does sound glorious
The bmw diesel gets 5L@liter in normal driving
Sunshine lollipops and rainbows bahahahahaha oh holy shit that was gold man!!
Wow John well done you just made yourself look like the biggest moron on RUclips in one comment 👍🏼 nice job
What I hate is that some drivers put their left indicators on before entering the roundabout while they are actually going staight or they leave their right indicators on before exiting... Especially the first case, it's such a missleading when they are about to enter the roundabout from the entrance on your right hand side and you are giving way to them...
Love the copper at the end passing over double lines.
Hi they are allowed to with all the other road offences that they committed in this video police are exempt from traffic offences :-)
thanks scott mate say hi to the misses 💀👊
Fun Fact#1: Driving without lights on at night can be a sign of an intoxicated driver.
Fun Fact#2: Or it can just be a sign that the street lighting in the area is really good so the driver can easily see the way and so didn't notice that he forgot to turn his lights on. (Guess who this has happened to?) (Only for a few seconds at a time, though) :D
Proves how often he checks his instrumentation so didn't even check his speed
Love the choice of music with these videos, spot on mate. 😊👍👍
Really love the references to "Smokey and the Bandit". -C
Hi alot to unpack and explain here , so no thats all incorrect , so teh Taxi driver wants to change lanes as their lane is ending , it doesnt matter they are ahead of teh other car its not relevant
they his indicator on as they must indicate its teh law it doesnt mean they are allowed to change lane , the VW doesnt speed up the block VW Accelerate after they were taking off from the lights as as you do to get up to teh speed limit as you are meant to do ,
Next no that's NOT a zip merge , a zip merge is when 2 lane form 1 here the raxis lane is ending and they must change lanes and give way
Hence the law quoted in the video 184 of the road rules act requires you to give way to traffic in the lane you wish to to change into that is why they were pulled over by the police .
Another great selection Scott!
In Perth they’re usually doing 100 in the 110 zone and hogging the passing lane. They also get butthurt when you flash your lights to pass .
The police cruise in the right lane in WA so no wonder the rest of them do
Here in Canada we have a problem with new cars in that if you do not turn on the lights so the little yellow beam on the dash display is on they only have driving lights at 60% of regular low beam and not a single bloody light on the back. Cheers
That was a great laugh .. you've earned a new subscriber here!
As I live in a nation where bad driving is the norm and little or no consiquences, I can't understand how someone in Australia world do these stupid things. Not long and the points used up and licence suspended. That would scare me.
Those Chrysler 300 police cars with the Hemi's kick butt!!
i'M IN ISOLATION movie madness of police Academy and smokey bandit and cannonball
Isn't it amazing how many people seem to think that bikes are not allowed on the roads, motorised or otherwise.
My experience was motorcyclists are hated, and I responded accordingly keeping myself alive but still speeding and enjoying by early years
I watch so many car videos and yours are by far the best. Very entertaining
BMW 530d's as well in NSW with M Sport package....they will be trialing the M5 as well.
As someone who works on the road every day, i can tell you these instant karma stuff very rarely happen
Never happens in UK. I pointed out a car crossing a lit pedestrian crossing to a parked cop, he just shrugged.
@@dartmoordave what a ars#hole cop,We had a patrol vehicle parked on the zigzag lines on a zebra crossing and my friend brought this to their attention and told "to mind his own business" and promptly Dailed 999 about a vehicle blocking the view on a zebra crossing as children are coming out of school and two police cars dealt with the van driver who was working for the police reading number plates and checking documentation electronically
@Dartmoor Dave thanks for telling us you're a piece of shiit
@@dartmoordave I lived 15 years in Germany, 10 years in UK and 5 years in Aus. You have no idea how you want to smash your head against a wall in Australia. UK driving is superb and driving on a UK motorway is much relaxing even at i.e. 140-150kmh than driving the same on a german autobahn....
