The Great Big David is a march that combines 3 famous songs "Men of Harlech", "Handel see the conquering hero comes" and David of the White Rock" written by Adolf Lotter in 1919.

+mike04535 The band's buttons are grouped in fives and they have the plume of White/Green/White on the left of their Bearskins and a Leek as the collar stud.

    The marches played are:
    1.The Guardsman - Steck
    2. The Contemptibles - Stanley
    3. The King's Guard - Keith
    4. Guards Armoured Div - Willcocks
    5. 08:24 anyone help ?
    6. Through Bolts and Bars - Uhrbach
    7. The Grenadiers Return.
The last confirms that the returning Old Guard are Grenadiers and not Welsh Guards.

meadowlands1937 Thanks for the correction. I have slowed down the video for a careful look at the collar badges and it does seem to be the Grenadier Guards returning from the castle.

The show stealers in the video are the little superstars marching time as they turn at the Queen Victoria statue.

Judging by the button grouping on the tunics I would say that that both the band and the guard were Grenadiers. The Welsh Guards buttons would be grouped in fives.

Would someone please tell the bass trombonist, and the bass drum, that there are approximately 35 or so other musicians in the band. It sounds so much better if you can hear them all playing together. They might want to listen to the Royal Air force or the Royal Marine bands for some suggestions. Hells bells, if I was he piccolo player I wold just remain at the barracks as they are wasting their breath.

Its the bass drummers job to keep a ckear and loud beat, guards are famous for it, didnt think the bass trombone was too loud

The beat is also for the marching troops. If you listen to the Royal Marines band when escorting their troops or the navy, all you will get is the incessant left foot beat
