7:31 RAF March Past
Great shots of my home town. Moved away 60 years ago, yet recall every building, including, of course, Windsor Castle. My grandfather met my granny in Windsor whilst he served as a member of the Grenadier Guards, stationed at Victoria barracks. My father-in-law was an R.S.M. In the Irish Guards and his son, my husband, also served in the Irish Guards. Very proud to be a Windsorian and hope to pay several more visits to the historic town in the future.....my dad was in the Royal Air Force during the war and two of his five brothers served with him in the R.A.F.
Always gives me goosebumps listening to the RAF play, you cant beat our Armed Forces for their bands. Thank you to all who serve and have served
Very nice! An aura of confidence seems to permeate about the whole band and accompanying guardsmen. Two, individual, military units marching as one - and in step. But, one could not expect anything else with that particular drum-major at the head - excellence without question.
Your looking through rose tinted glasses I imagine?
Great selection of marches. Really liked the trombones in the bass solo of Trafalgar, great playing.
A great show, RAF Regiment.
Sharp and snappy with a great band playing their own march.
I bet the Guardsmen where chuffed to bits marching into their barracks behind an RAF band playing the RAF march past !!
As a ex 1st Battalion Royal Anglian Regt Drummer, l can say with all my heart , l can't think of any thing more heart warming than any Corps of Drums flutes & drummers , okay the Jocks & the Paddy's will day the pipes & Bandsmen will say mast bands, but l'm a humble drummer what do l know ??, but hearing all no matter what , how many more CUTs , & lose the talent , nice to hear the German band, very proud they look & the marches sound as they should be heard plenty of HUMPH , ha ha!!, Hope my Grandchildren will a
still be able to.hear the Best music in the world, God bless them Band or Drums pipes are flute, are Nationality, thank you , oh & Rule Britannia speed the plough, my Regt march ,

Yes it must, especially when the band plays the RAF March Past right into barracks instead of the Regimental Quick March of The Coldstream Guards, that's really making their point !
great musicians
Superb trombones !
It´s the "Eagle Squadron" by Kenneth Alford.
The marches are...
Hollyrood
Down the Mall
Eagle Squadron
?
Trafalgar
RAF March Past
Great Video; wish the RAF would do more public duties in Windsor.
The 2nd march is Wellington not Down the Mall.
the march after eagle squadron is Disney's parade
+Audrey Poulter I think
I am a Drum Major in The Royal Grenadier guards
If the camera has been kept stationary it would've been better
RAF mate, not used to marching ;)
Stevie T wdym by that
Quite agree, it is difficult to recognise the March being played as they approach, until the tune can be finally made out. I seem to remember the RAF Central Band as being far more "musical". Have they had the word from on high to be more "military" sounding? If so they've overdone it rather IMHO.
Nevertheless a fine turn out by the junior Service. The RAF Regiment as always does us proud.
Isn't it customary for the old guard's quick march to be played as they enter barracks? It was the RAF's!
Yeah it should be the guards March but oh well🤷♂️
at 0:47 what did the Drum Major and Director of Music walk around?
probably veered off a bit thats all
Would make a man with a wooden leg want to step out! Nice!!😀😀😁😊
Anyone know the significance of the two guards peeling off from the front ranks and rejoining the rear as they return through the gates?
The Corporals provide an escort to the officer/captain of the guard between the castle and the barracks at Windsor, if at Buckingham Palace the escort is given to the colour as that holds more Importance.
Who cares ! we are Her Majesty's Armed Forces !
Fine band but very surprised to see the cornets behind the percussion section, rather than in the second row. Have not seen this with any other British band at Windsor or Buckingham palaces. Makes it somewhat difficult to hear the melody as the band approaches.
It's the RAF. They insist on being different.
Can anybody please tell me the name of the march that starts at 5.04, thanks

Why does the drum-major swing his arm in such a fashion ?
He didn't learn that at recruit training.
NNSEA He's Drum Major (WO) Terry Gardner, and he always swung his arm in a circle like form, he's the only RAF Drum Major that I've seen doing that. So I'm guessing it's his personal style of swinging his arm. Because most other RAF Drum Majors Swing the arm straight.
What is the march called at 2:23?
MisterTofu wellington is the March
Go Airforce.....
It must irritate the Guards to drill behind the RAF regiment band.
Trafalgar
Trafalgar.
was it me or did i see a Grenadier out of time?
you did
Common misconception but they are not grenadiers, not all queen's guard are grenadiers. They are the coldstreamers
Agreed and I'm ex RAF
Thats because there are more women in the RAF Band.
Oh
bad shooting mate.too much shaking.
what's the march at 5:54
The march is Trafalgar by Zehle.
Laurie Johnston Thank you
Trafalgar
🤷♀️🇬🇧
march out with the best, march back with the crap and to the RAF march lmfao
The camera quality is so bad that if the troops were holding Enfields instead of SA80s I would say that this was filmed in 1942 and then colourised.
Bless the junior service allowed to mix with army, if they are good and behave perhaps the senior service will let come the party.. as always military bands spot on
Thought the Senior Service was the Navy????????????
The band of the royal air force in Windsor castle Windsor castle
hold the damn camera still!
RAF drill is better than the Guards even if I don't want to say it...
hold the camera steady ffs
The RAF band could not evan be bothered to play the RAF anthem on entering the Castle! WOW. Sums up the RAF for me. Clueless.
