This is why I love your system. I am a Dark Winter that does not do brights very well, especially bright true red and electric blue. There is a notion that all winters need brightness and high contrast but that never quite worked for me. I love my Soft, cool, deep color fan. Thanks for doing what you do.
I am the same! 😀👍
I prefer this system too, I think there’s more room for individuality and finding what actually works for you.
I think some people straddle the fence!
This settles it once and for all, I'm Soft, Cool, and Deep!
👍 Me too 😀
Thank you so much, Jen, for your fantastic color system and your great videos!!! I am really glad to have found it here. It fits so perfectly to me 😀
I was diagnosed as a winter about 30 years ago. That was perfect for decades with black, bright or dark red, bright pink and royal blue for example. They let me shine happy and healthy.
But the last years (I'm 45 now) I saw more & more, that the bright clear and very dark colors are not perfect for me any longer. They are too strong now - perhaps because I get older with more wrinkles in my face, less bright eyes and more tanned skin, so extreme contrasts seem to be no good idea any longer. (Originally I resembled the "Snow White" type: cool dark brown hair, dark blue shiny eyes, very light skin with rosy cheeks.)
So while checking all my clothes with selfies now I was surprised that the SOFT winter colors in my wardrobe are better for me now than the clear ones - it was the opposite in the past! But while searching the internet for the reason and the right color type/palette I couldn't find my new personal season - neither in the 4-system nor in the 12-system. For a while I thought I am a soft summer (dark/deep) now. But the soft summer does not have a real red, that I still can wear somehow (now I know, I just still "borrow" it from the "bright cool deep" 😀). Moreover I love a shirt in my wardrobe that has a light olive color. That totally confused me, because that doesn't belong to the classic summer or winter types. I couldn't find an explanation - until I found your video!! When I saw it, I thought you know me - "soft cool deep" perfectly fits to me - inclusive the red and olive/khaki shades 😀😀😀
Therefore many compliments for your color system, that is so much better than the classic color seasons 👍👍👍👌👌👌 Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏😀😀😀
Jen knows what’s she’s talking about!
Soft,cool and medium here.
Great video Jen!
Shiny black, black and white geometric patterns suits me but in the case of lipstick I can't wear bright burgundy, it overpowers me, soft burgundy suits me more.
I do believe I am bright, cool and deep....some muted colors make me look drained. Most of the time I wear black but I am trying to wear brighter colors! Love the video!
This helps me to figure out that I’m bright and deep. ❤
The soft cool and deep palette is literally all my best colours lol (cannot believe I thought I was warm). I had doubts that I was cool because any bright lipsticks look very garish and I prefer more subtle warmer shades for that. Your system and the cards are so helpful! 😊
I am thinking I’m Bright + Cool + Deep. I always thought you had to have brown eyes to be deep… but I have clear/bright yet deep gray eyes, deep brown hair, but clear/bright skin
I think people who are bright and deep have a harder time seeing the difference from being soft. For me, colors that look dark and dull look much brighter against my skin that hanging in a closet. Somehow these colors translate as soft to me because I too can handle very vibrant and traditionally bright colors also.
I think the biggest difference between knowing if I’m soft vs bright I guess would be seeing what makes the color darker. I find that colors darkened with black instead of being grayed look better on me. Both types of color look soft while on a hanger but only the darkened with black colors look vibrant against my skin.
That is interesting! I also think about the different hues of "soft"...
Great video. I’m still confused. I don’t look good in bright white. Gray also looks bad on me. But my best colors are deep jewel tones. Softer colors wash me out. I can’t tell if I’m cool, deep and soft or cool deep and bright. When I wear a really bright jewel tones I get lots of compliments. I have a light medium to medium olive complexion.
Hi Jen! I found you yesterday and am so thankful! I not so recently decided I hate everything I own and need to revamp my entire wardrobe. Please do a video on capsule wardrobes based on your color charts, (I’m a bright warm medium if you would do that one first) bc I want my life to be simple! Thank you very much for your redhead specific videos, we are always a special case and it is great to be considered.
Hi, have u also figured out what type of body are you? Figuring out both things will change ur life completely. It did for me... good luck
Is it possible for someone to be soft cool medium? I am high contrast neutral light skin, very dark brown hair with muddy grey-green eyes. The deep colors seem too dramatic. Is it a matter of personal choice when the colors are only a few shades away on the color wheel?
I feel like I am stuck in between the bright and the soft hues, after turning 40 last year. Can that happen with time? Can we start to change intensity with age? I can wear bright colors well but I feel I can also wear softer color more, now.
Could you do a video about the cool medium variations. I also wondered on terms of blushcolor, if there is a medium version? I love a bit more depth, though I'm not deep. And I'm not the bright tyoe also. But I think soft cool medium
9:00 this is exactly what coloring i have
You have helped me immensely !! Thank you so much !
Me too
I think I am Bright cool and deep with an love undertone but I am not sure. Starting to grey alot also. Can you help. Here is a picture.
for lighter colors I am definitely soft but if the colors are darker, bright vs soft does not make a difference
I have a real headache trying to decide wether I'm soft or bright. Let's press the "play" on that video and hooooooope that it will give me some clarity at last! 😩🙏
Can't send the pucture😢
I think I’m soft cool and deep who can go with some brightness 🤔
If your picture is current you are definitely a bright, cool and deep not soft. You have a lot of contrast and sparkling coloring.
@@maryyoungblood8550 interesting because I absolutely hate bright colors on me. I have very soft brown eyes, nothing “clear or sparkling” about them but what do I know.
You have dark hair against light skin. Instant contrast.
Sometimes it is hard to see the pizzazz in our own coloring.
@@maryyoungblood8550 look at the woman in the video in the soft section. Jen even talked about even though she had a lot of contrast, she was still soft.
