Oh yes. The drywall up, lighting, floor covering, shelving, bins. The only things I would add to packing for a trip are extra rotary cutting blades, pencil, eraser, and a light bulb.
I usually take my 12x18" mat with me when quilting when travelling. I've used the hotel ironing board and iron.... sometimes i really wish I'd brought my iron from home.
I've missed seeing you. So smart to bring projects with you for after work/school. We all like to see how others set up their sewing rooms, so yes we would love to see your process. Thanks for shariing.
Great Idea! I think I'll buy one when I get to my destination if I need one, which I probably will. I will try to document the process of the remodel! I'm so excited to get some stuff done in my basement!
Know that if a mat gets warped you can SOMETIMES fix it by heating it (say, on the driveway on a sunny day), then putting it on a flat surface (like a smooth floor or large table) and weighting it down overnight (like with heavy books).
@dorothyyoung8231 that's a great tip! I've never heard of that. I was able to keep my big mat flat for the drive here, and I'm very thankful I brought it. I probably should have brought my old one just in case but this one is so much nicer lol
@@kayla_quilts, I’m with you! Having the right tools - the ones I’m used to - makes quilting or any task so much easier! Bringing a big mat is worth it for me if I can manage it! You can make a note of anything you missed this time for next time. For instance I can’t work without masking tape, but most quilters look at me oddly when I say that!
@@kayla_quilts , oh yes. It’s one of the nicest German towns. Try Huisach Grill for lunch . Or for BBQ it’s Coopers old time BBQ. But we do have Bill Millers BBQ in S A. and the best iced Tea.
@@kayla_quilts Thank you for your reply. I've wanted to get back into sewing but I have a low end machine which causes me a lot of problems. I'm hoping that a better machine will help me get back into a hobby that I love. Have a good trip!
@dutchgirldreams4726 a quality machine really does make a difference in my opinion. I hope you are able to get back into sewing, I really slacked off because of health issues and I missed it so much.
Should I document the process of my unfinished basement being turned into my dream quilting room?

I am so glad your back. I have missed your videos. Hope your feeling better soon.
I would put everything into plastic bags in groups to help get through the travel process. To help save things from humidity and water.

Thank you! I am excited to be back, and I will definitely document what I can of finishing the basement studio!
Would a portable light come in handy for your trip? And I'd love to see the process of your dream room.

Marking utensils (chalk, erasable, etc)
I wouldn't take the large cutting matt depending on how you're traveling. Might be better to take just the smaller round matt.
I am driving, I hope the larger cutting mat will travel okay because I don't know if I can do almost two months without it 😬

Hi, I’m catching up on your videos, but have you been to the Pearl? And a town named New Bruanfels north of SA has a quilt shop. Quilt Haus.
I haven't, should I add them to my list?

@marysmith4479 thanks! They're all added to my list 🥰
What kind of sewing machine do you have?
I have a Babylock Amelia. I absolutely love this machine but I think my next one may be a Juki TL2000QI.
