used to have the 522gw , no problem, just constantly switching it of after parked , the off button just gave up up and stayed depressed in , hence upgrading to 622GW

Funny. Just got a 322GW... loaded with f/w 21.9 whereas the website shows their latest f/w is 21.5... NB support were unaware of this difference.

Looks like a quite awesome unit.
I would just wish for a version with the lense placed on the right side of the unit, as I would rather not place it on the drivers side of the Rearview mirror. Yes, I like these things hidden from the outside world.
Simple solution: Get a car that is left hand drive. Problem solved.

Super review! Wondering about Protected footage. When you engage it, does it protect the period of time prior to engaging it? On my current cam, you can see something happen fast and by the time you start the protect mode, the event has finished. Then you have to fish the scene from the main video set. Would be cool if it could protect from a minute or two prior to activating the feature.

*Hi. I just got 522 version today. But strangely I cannot find my recorded video on the card?*
I have the 522GW and the picture quality for playback is not good , even with the faster A2 SD card . Maybe the 622GW is the solution . The 622GW is very good and I did get a sharper picture with the 522GW by reformatting the card in the camera before using it. The type of card is a factor. Get one that matches the free 32Gig NextBase card.
I'm still enjoying my 522GW from your giveaway. If it ever dies, I'll probably upgrade then!

Does your 522gw see the number plates clearly in night time, with the reflection from lights ?

Has the sticky pad mount stayed attached to the textured part of your windscreen? I thought the mount would have to be placed where the windscreen is clear and smooth in order to be a permanent fixture?

No, the only camera that records in 4K is the front-facing (built-in) camera. the external cameras are still 1080p or 720p depending on camera/settings.
Is the parking mode surveillance for this any good? Or is there better cameras out there for parking mode?

Thank you Kenny. Yes, it starts recording when it gets auxiliary power from your 12V. To get the video off the cam you can do it through the app or eject the SD card and put it into your computer to grab it from there.
Why the camera gets overheated when i changes it?

To my knowledge, these aren't features of the Nextbase dash cam
Hello, can this camera be used for recording while parked?
It's not really designed for that unless your vehicle is bumped or broken into, then the sensors will kick in and start recording. There is an internal battery, but it only lasts so long

No, just like the previous models it uses the internal battery and yes most of the basic features are still the same as the previous models, including Parking Mode. Thanks for watching!
Was looking for a good dashcam
I had nothing but trouble with the 522GW. They sent me a firmware update on an SD card and the touch screen stopped working. It kept locking up before that.

Beautiful area for filming, I know it well as I cycle the Del Mar coast highway frequently. Anyway, excellent no bs review, and I may buy this dash cam. I checked Amazon and the reviews are not good? They say the camera freezes up a lot. Any thoughts? Thanks 😊
It sure is beautiful! Anyway, I've never had the camera freeze/lock up on me even in 100F+ summer heat stuck to my windshield.

@@Combat556 The GW522 is my first dash cam ever and it was a huge mistake. It does freeze and they suggest you format the disk every couple of weeks and yeah that works.
The worst thing is it is almost impossible to "connect" with my Samsung phone. I have to first "unpair" then "pair" my phone to connect. Then it always drops the connection if I try to download a video.
Very disappointed to say the least. A total waste of ~$500.
When I get my wife a new XT4 this is NOT the brand of camera for me.
UPDATE. Positive results with my troubleshooting today. I reset my camera and formatted the micro disk. Next I uninstalled the connection app on my Samsung phone. So I started with a complete fresh set up and all my connectivity issues are gone. I can download a video from inside my house, approximately 20 meters away.
I suspect that after multiple (?) automatic firmware and software upgrades the entire system and devices needed a hard reset?
Can you do a video on how to install them?
Probably not since it's so easy to mount and plug in.
Is there any place I can order more of the sticky pads for the mounts?

If it didnt look like a Nikon super zoom hanging from my windscreen i would consider getting one.

522 looks way better (WB). 622 wins at night though. My question is do they freeze like reviews say they do?
A lot of users report lock-ups on the device. Has that happened to you?
The 622GW is a good camera system but beware - if you have the older 522GW (like me) which is hard wired in my car and would like to upgrade to the 622 then your already installed hardwire kit will not work with the 622, you have to buy and fit a new hardwire kit.
I have a 522GW hardwired to my car like you. Does it not work at all when you attach a 622GW to the magnetic mount?
Good afternoon, please tell me if it is possible to choose the Cyrillic language in the camera menu, namely (Bulgarian, Russian, Ukrainian) these languages are more understandable for me and it will be more convenient to use.
Will it drain my battery when Im parked?
It will go dormant and use its own battery until it runs out. Typically 12V outlets turn off when you turn your vehicle off.
In the manual, its says DONT connect the power to the camera, but put the power through the windscreen mount. Of course my installer HAS NOT put the power through the mount. It all seeems to work. What is the significance ?

I just checked one of my 4K video files and it states 45.51 Mbit/s video
Well, it’s not that good dashcam as it was advertised on few online platforms...
Unfortunately after 3 Days of use I got some issues with freezing monitor. Nothing works. Even pushing the reset button didn’t help.
There are a lot more customers with these troubles. I am videographer and photographer and I am only using pretty good SD-Cards and even when I change the card it freezes. And the cam is freezing even without a card in the card slot 🤷🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
I suppose that am going to send it back, because there are even some customers which got a replacement and the dashcams have still the same issues.
And last point:
The magnetic mount is pretty strong, yeah quite good, BUT it is too easy to change the position of the cam when it is mounted, I doubt that it will still be on place when there’s an accident
Finally got me one!! Pigs around here wont be taking my money now
So disappointing , this company have no shame! Since 2021 they didn’t update the software for 622, also the mobile app is full of bugs
Completely overpriced! Even the Transcend 200 is better.
