I had the Nextbase camera and I thought that when viewed on my PC the video looked horrible. It was full of artifacts and you couldn't read a license plate with it. Maybe mine was defective? I don't know! I returned it while I still can. BTW, there is a way to use dental floss to break the bond of that adhesive tape or pad. Hold an end of it in both hands and pull it down behind the mount. You may have to saw at it a bit pulling the floss. You will not get it all the way off the glass but it will become much easier to remove it. Assuming you flossed from the top pull the mount gently away and downward. It will come off a lot easier. I only found that out myself when searching for a way to get the mount off and really I am glad it was the first one I found and not some dumb "lifehack". I am not sure what else would ease removing the mount but if you just try to yank it you will find it is not going anywhere! Also unless you loosen the bond of the pad or tape with the floss first yanking on it may damage things or leave you hurt or frustrated. There is no need to mess with razor blades trying to get the mount off, it didn't work for me and it could have turned dangerous if I was not careful.
Really one of the things that made me try the Nextbase camera was the 4K resolution but I did not get the picture clarity I would expect. It feels like they may have upscaled 1080p and sold it as 4K. Really unless the camera has an 8.3 MP sensor or better it is not really 4K even if the final video size is such. Also with the next base I found a lot of crappy low res duplicates of the alleged 4K videos. Now really, why do I need even crappier copies of the same thing????? They could have used those CPU resources to at least make a futile attempt at good picture quality but their $hitty camera couldn't even do that!! Ideally the camera would have at least an 8.3 MP sensor, an option to save the videos with little or no compression at the optional expense of recording time as a result, and no more low quality duplicates of the same video for Christ's sake!!!

One thing I liked was the built in polarizer on the Nextbase but that bad picture quality made me return it the same day. I know know it is so bad because I tried it out while I was shopping. To me a polarizing filter is a must so I don't have dashboard reflections in the video that might obscure critical details. I know a windshield can be cleaned inside to make that less of an issue but some vehicles may have one that is curved differently or maybe even having some sort of coating on them Then there is a layer in the glass usually that should help prevent some of the injury that zillions of razor sharp shards of glass might cause. If that layer turns hazy or has too different of a refractive index that may be why your videos are haunted by the ghost of dashboards past!!
