Thanks for watching! After about 2 years or so, the 3M mounting tape started wearing. The tape was starting to “melt” from the windshield. I swap the 3M out yearly now, but absolutely no impact so far to the camera itself!
Not only is it a good camera but I like that local stores sell them too. I saw it in Bestbuy along with the kits and memory cards sold as accessories for it. The camera I use now is a Vicovation Marcus 4 and my Nextbase camera should come tomorrow. The Vicovation camera has a maximum resolution of 1296p (2304 x 1296) and that is more than 1080p but not 4K. It is more like somewhere in between them if you had a chart showing all of the common resolutions.
Shouldnt this be connected to an always live fuse so that the parking feature can be utilised? the way youve powered it up you'd have to leave the ignition on all the time???
You would go that route if you want to use parking feature. I have mine wired so that it turns on when I turn the car on, and off when I turn the car off.
Such nice and detailed video mate,do you think the cabin cam is good for ride share drivers esp the night vision within the cabin where it’s very important in such use..and is there way to use cabin and dedicated rear window cam at same with this camera Thanks
Hi! The cabin view cam is perfect for ride share drivers! But unfortunately you cannot use both cabin view and rear view at the same time because they plug into the same port
there is really one thing that bothers me and its that the cabin view camera just isnt a wide enough camera and there are blind spots near the front which concerns me. but it does seem to be the best out there at this time that is a camera made for security.
Good feedback, I guess that could be important if you’re ridesharing or just wanting cabin view a lot. I don’t use it at all so I didn’t even notice I guess
When the car is stationary, the dashcam automatically goes into sleep mode how to resolve this? This happens a lot in back to back traffic when the car is moving slow!
My car has an excellent nav, stereo, phone system, etc. I want to use Alexa ONLY for things like “make a reminder”, ask simple questions, “add to shopping list”…never for anything my pretty sophisticated car will do. But, in order to use Alexa, will I have to manually switch something from the car’s system to Alexa, and back again? Or does it all seamlessly just work together, and she will just kick in with her wake word of “Alexa?”
Thanks for watching! You would have to add the Nextbase Skill in your Alexa App. & that’s it! As long as Alexa is listening via your phone, you should be good to go.

Thanks! I’m honestly not sure how parking mode works. I don’t know how useful the internal battery would be for parking mode or how long it would last. Maybe tapping into an always-on fuse? We don’t use parking mode so not too sure.
Does thus come with the pro mount for GPS or do I need to buy it separately. I will be bouncing this between pick up and semi so I need a GPS one and a regular one.
That’s a great question. There are likely newer versions or models that are even better than this one now in 2024.. but I still wouldn’t count this one out.
Can this unit be used wireless without having to plug it in via cigarette adaptor or messy hardwiring. Not keen on cables everywhere and wondering if I can just charge it at home and use as needed then recharge. Thanks in advance for any help!
While it does have an internal battery, it’s for emergency use in the case of power loss. The recording time is only 15 minutes. So, it’s really not designed to run primarily from the internal battery.

i have one and this image quality is rubbish, even at 4K, the image on mine is grainy, i would expect better for a 4K video
Mine isn’t grainy, there are dashcam videos on the channel 🤷🏾♀️ but if you don’t like it maybe try a different camera?

It comes with a click & go GPS mount to mount the camera
use 120 fps better than 4 k or 2 k cuz when you move you need more fps to records numbers and small things

It should since the cabin camera is connected to the front
