One piece has been going on for 20+ years with tons of characters, transformations, and great world building. Besides the funko shop exclusives and convention exclusives one piece fans have rarely gotten pops made of their characters. So all these new characters and molds at least in my opinion are great for the line. Great video as usual and keep up the great work.
Also it’s to be noted one piece is like DC or Marvel to anime in the sense they have too many amazing characters, factions and pop moments. So trust us if you two gave it a chance before the series end you would be amazed

As a die hard one piece fan, this recent wave was definitely a lot, but we haven’t gotten a new One Piece wave for 2 years until now. The wait was worth it and I want more. There’s so many characters to be done and I’m honestly excited because trying to complete this set is going to be an adventure and lots of fun!
Laughed hard af when Heather dropped that Vagita line 😂😂😂😂. Collecting pops lately is definitely overwhelming especially all the bigger moments and comic covers. I definitely am rethinking my whole collection. That Tiny Ghost looks badass! Great video as always!
I hope they continue the One Piece glory, so many characters that I would love to have. I want the collection to grow bigger than Dragon Ball. Currently, I have 101 different DBZ funko pops and only 24 One Piece pops, which I could show you my collection.
Well, I hope they make other characters cuz one piece has over 200 side characters and other pirates like the foxy pirates and would love to see Afro Luffy yes pernounce (loofy) and rhymes with Lucy.
These past few days i been getting notices for pops that I’ve been on the hunt for ..for quite sometime from Mercari … i was happy to scoop them up however i got concerned because these pops use to go for a average of 200-250 now theyre as cheap as 50.00..it got me a bit concerned 😰 are people abandoning ship. Most likely due to recession and maybe a hint of Funko not being nearly as popular as they were back in 2020 at the height. We think things will come back, it will just take time.

I know this post is one year old, However since Luffy Gear 5 hit this year in 2024 better get ready for more of them lol! different poses Lightening hold, Giant Haki Fist, Giant Stomp and Haki Bat with baseball cap on! The only overwhelming thing about one piece pops is that they keep giving us too many Straw-Hats different arcs, or reissued with a with a special variant like glow-in-the-dark, metallic, glitter or just battle damaged! hope for 2024 and the on-going years funko can finally give us the One Piece Characters who really earned a spot, including Corizan, Fujitora, Kizaru, Akainu, Uta, Koby, Blackbeard, Kuma, Film Red Shanks, Kuzan, Dr. Vegapunk and lucci CP0/awakening form! besides my wish list, I've just been collecting all the One Piece characters I like so far i'm at less then 20 OP Funko pops!
When Funko realized that Anime sold well, they went ALL out and now look at them with Funime. They're totally on board to sell anime every which way! Thank you for watching our old content :)

Totally agree on it being overwhelming. I just sold off a part of my collection that I deemed as excess, basically the sets I wouldn't ever try to finish. Now I'm refocusing on the sets I do want to try to complete, limiting myself to only certain lines. It can still be a lot since one of those is Star Wars but its way more manageable now. :)
I have the original Captain America mold that the new one is based on and when the original one came out I couldn't figure out why they didn't automatically make it a glow-in-the-dark at the time. Even though the new version looks nice, I'm not going to spend more money on that just to have a glow-in-the-dark with a metal looking outfit. I would rather invest my money and a totally different pop to add to my collection.
The problem with taking an existing mold and making it glow or metallic makes u instantly feel like the one u bought is inferior.. I've got to the point with marvel that I won't even buy the commons anymore 🤷♂️
The only reason it upset me is that it has 8 chases. 2 or 3 is fine but 8 just makes no sense especially since they were spread out to mostly online exclusive retailers which means no lining up and hunting down the chases you have to just order and pray OR shell out like 80-100 dollars to Guarantee a chase. It's just a messy way to sell more pops by just giving them all chases etc. As a MAIN One Piece Collector that has almost 2 of every pop in the line - someone who started funko collecting with One Piece many years ago with the earliest wave - this just really frustrated me to see a line and series that I love so much have so many cool molds & designs all released at once (INCREDIBLE INCREDIBLE JOB BY THE ARTISTS AT FUNKO) but then to just be pimped out as a method for hype beasting and artificial rarity with 8 chases in one reveal. It sucks to be both excited to see so many cool new pops & simultaneously upset knowing I am getting priced out of just keeping my set complete for "retail" prices in favor of people who are DEFINITELY buying them to resell and continue to try and take advantage of actual fans of the series. It shouldn't potentially cost $800+ just to keep your set complete for retail after just one wave reveal. It just pushes me further away from Funko instead of bringing my continually back in. ITS OVERWHELMING!
It is hard to get excited getting the same figure over and over. I do love the One Piece POPS. Anime is weird for me in the sense that I like a lot of the POPS, they seem to have more detail than many other lines. I collect Anime, yet do not watch Anime, or at least very little.
Thankfully when I started collecting Funko I knew it was primarily for one series. 90% of my collection is just MCU related. 2023 is going to be an expensive year for sure.

Overwhelming? Maybe but only in spurts. As someone who collects certain characters I do see a lot of reused molds which I understand but as long as the new one makes sense. For example with this new Captain America, why are they even making it? There isn’t anything Endgame coming out etc. so it just weird. But it might just be for a store exclusive which is sort of the norm right now. AAA just reused an old Superman mold and gave him glowing red eyes for their exclusive and Entertainment Earth is just black lighting the Godzilla mold for their new exclusive so it’s sort of the store norm I guess. As for the One Piece drops that was crazy and something I hope isn’t ongoing. I ran out of money just preordering the Groot Pops, I can see someone spending $400+ preordering all of the chases (6 pops for a chase) from all of the different stores. 😬
i've never understood the completionist mindset, nobody likes everything. just buy the ones you really want and fight the urge to get 10 versions of the same character.
The completionist mindset is primarily for sellers. If you look at lots online, they like to sell the whole set, and somehow think it's more valuable, or they can offload the cheaper commons by bundling it with the grails of the set.
I have completed a couple of sets in the past but I've slowed down a lot. I will continue being a completionist with the Transformers pops until I can't do it anymore.
I haven't been commenting as much lately (time, energy, illness) but I did read an interesting article about how people who don't use chip clips... SHOULD 🤬 USE CHIP CLIPS. It was really well written.

The show will have almost nothing to do with the pops being released. So making tons of the pops they dropped will be completely stange to the common people who only just watched the live action adaptation.
The Reason the Hunter x Hunter pop didn't sell out is because Hunter x Hunter sadly has been hit constantly with Manga delays that have all but killed any kind of hyper the series once had with no end in sight, so people just don't care anymore.
It has nothing to do with the manga. The anime ended years ago; so the interest is small. But also the pop isn't very dynamic. The reason why one piece has sold out, is because people know they can sell the chase for a huge markup, we've accepted $400+ law, Brook, flocked chopper. So the flippers are more interesting in buy those up for the fans.
@@gilbertoflores7397 Well the manga doesn't help, since it basically means the more it's delayed the less likely they'll make another season of the anime. So it is a factor.
@@thefanwithoutaface8105 it's a madhouse production, they're notorious for not making season 2 for most of their animes. One punch man had to get made by a different studio to get a season 2. But you're right, they can't make a season 2 because not a lot has actually happened in the story since the anime ended, it's still all set up for the next arc.
Thank God I don't watch anime! I've been selective with my Pops since I started collecting. Only one Pop per character, no variations. Funny enough, Funko hasn't made a Captain America or Iron Man that I like! 🤣
If you're gonna go back to the well, at least bring back good ol' Huckleberry Chris!!! The video doesn't hit the same without at least 1 mention of sniffing Golden Retriever butts. I definitely agree with Chris aka #StaleSnack about being somewhat burned out by the repetition of Scarlet Witch and Captain America repaints over and over again.
So we aren't going to talk about the fact that Funko announced #7 in the Die-cast line and it's effing Mickey Mouse...?!?! They already screwed up by including DC and Marvel under the same number line... They started a new line for Star Wars... Why the EFFFFFFF did they put Mickey Mouse under the same line?!?! They could have started a Disney line... Die-cast was the one line that I was going to keep up with.. Now knowing they could go forever on the Disney license I don't think that to be true going forward
If you can’t collect them all it isn’t worth collecting. I only collect vintage. It’s possible to complete collections. Funko just keep adding and adding. It’s ridiculous.
It's great that they keep adding but we as collectors need to keep in mind that we only have so much space in our home. Our house is FILLED right now LOL
I don't collect certain lines because I expect funko to over do it and when I do collect big lines I try to look for themes like the young avengers for marvel. However I also kinda see this as "first world problems" type of thing as I personally would spend every dollar I had for new buffy pops or new Wynonna earp ones or any love for she ra and the princesses of power (no not the 80s cartoon just to prevent comments she already has pops). I wish the fandoms I collect got so many pops they made me question if I want to keep going. I'm close to that point with avatar the last air bender

One piece is way too much right now. What's funny is on Jan 1st I said I'd complete the entire one piece line this year. Maybe I'll complete bleach instead. What's so funny is that just really shows how out of touch you guys are with the anime audience. Even if they don't continue one piece, there are dozens of animes people would love to have figures for. If they ever made jojo's bizarre adventure pops, I predict it would be one of the most successful funko lines ever made.

Great videos the past few weeks, seriously! I am guilty of loving the new One Piece drops so you know I secured my Big Mom with Homies ;) Three of the characters that are being released made their debut as early as 2007. Yet, most of the pops in this giant wave are fairly current to whats happening in the show, now. Also, they easily could make 3 more Luffy Funko Pops that people would take out a second morgage for(10-inch gear 3rd, gear 4th tankman, kid Luffy). If Funko sees this, please no One Piece NFTs.
Funko Fair having THAT many OP pops + chases is a LOT for one franchise. However, we hear there are a lot of characters and feel that it's going to be WAAAAAAY overdone very very soon!

I agree but Netflix is dropping a one piece show this year that could be the reason so many being made. Older ones will go up do to show. They also need to do more limited pieces like HANDMADE BY ROBOTS!!! And I hate animmmmeeeee!!!!!
The show will have almost nothing to do with the pops being released. So making tons of the pops they dropped will be completely stange to the common people who only just watched the live action adaptation.

The Reason the Hunter x Hunter pop didn't sell out is because Hunter x Hunter sadly has been hit constantly with Manga delays that have all but killed any kind of hyper the series once had with no end in sight, so people just don't care anymore.
It has nothing to do with the manga. The anime ended years ago; so the interest is small. But also the pop isn't very dynamic. The reason why one piece has sold out, is because people know they can sell the chase for a huge markup, we've accepted $400+ law, Brook, flocked chopper. So the flippers are more interesting in buy those up for the fans.
@@gilbertoflores7397 Well the manga doesn't help, since it basically means the more it's delayed the less likely they'll make another season of the anime.
So it is a factor.
@@thefanwithoutaface8105 it's a madhouse production, they're notorious for not making season 2 for most of their animes. One punch man had to get made by a different studio to get a season 2. But you're right, they can't make a season 2 because not a lot has actually happened in the story since the anime ended, it's still all set up for the next arc.

Thank God I don't watch anime! I've been selective with my Pops since I started collecting. Only one Pop per character, no variations. Funny enough, Funko hasn't made a Captain America or Iron Man that I like! 🤣

They already screwed up by including DC and Marvel under the same number line... They started a new line for Star Wars... Why the EFFFFFFF did they put Mickey Mouse under the same line?!?! They could have started a Disney line... Die-cast was the one line that I was going to keep up with.. Now knowing they could go forever on the Disney license I don't think that to be true going forward
We are officially done with the die-cast line. They were cool at first but now its ridiculous.
I don't even buy as much as I used to because of this overproduction. It's just stale at this point to even make an attempt to get a funko pop.

If you can’t collect them all it isn’t worth collecting. I only collect vintage. It’s possible to complete collections. Funko just keep adding and adding. It’s ridiculous.
It's great that they keep adding but we as collectors need to keep in mind that we only have so much space in our home. Our house is FILLED right now LOL

I don't collect certain lines because I expect funko to over do it and when I do collect big lines I try to look for themes like the young avengers for marvel. However I also kinda see this as "first world problems" type of thing as I personally would spend every dollar I had for new buffy pops or new Wynonna earp ones or any love for she ra and the princesses of power (no not the 80s cartoon just to prevent comments she already has pops). I wish the fandoms I collect got so many pops they made me question if I want to keep going. I'm close to that point with avatar the last air bender
It's nice when Funko thinks outside of the box. We love when they do smaller sets/series.

One piece is way too much right now. What's funny is on Jan 1st I said I'd complete the entire one piece line this year. Maybe I'll complete bleach instead. What's so funny is that just really shows how out of touch you guys are with the anime audience. Even if they don't continue one piece, there are dozens of animes people would love to have figures for. If they ever made jojo's bizarre adventure pops, I predict it would be one of the most successful funko lines ever made.

Great videos the past few weeks, seriously! I am guilty of loving the new One Piece drops so you know I secured my Big Mom with Homies ;) Three of the characters that are being released made their debut as early as 2007. Yet, most of the pops in this giant wave are fairly current to whats happening in the show, now. Also, they easily could make 3 more Luffy Funko Pops that people would take out a second morgage for(10-inch gear 3rd, gear 4th tankman, kid Luffy). If Funko sees this, please no One Piece NFTs.
