Thank you for mentioning Anne or Sundbo; will get it. I knitted Selbu mitts my problem was the tip decreasing could not understand the chart ended up with a double white at the top. Otherwise smooth sailing. Yes I followed the entire selbu think her name begins with an”O” excellent

In the non-instagram world which I reside in, I must say that your mittens are absolutely beautiful. What an inspiration and thank you for sharing while on your nature walk. I have a couple of thoughts/questions for you. Question re: gauge swatching…with hindsight, would you now do a gauge swatch for these mittens? I ask because I am doing a fair isle wristlet project and after much back and forthing, I bit the swatch bullet and did a swatch gauge. I did 1.5 x the indicated number for swatch gauge and then only knit about 2” for row gauge. It worked and early on showed me that I needed to go up a needle size. The reason I wavered was because the wristlet was ‘small’ and could be considered a swatch gauge itself (oh how we so easily deceive ourselves).
RE: magic loop and the gaps…I watched a video with Phrancko ruclips.net/video/DdXbUiF9tyA/видео.html where he specifically addresses this issue. You might find it helpful.
Amazing story about the perfumes. Yuck.
That’s it from my little corner of the world. Happy knitting and again, your mittens are gorgeous and an inspiration.
