30 years later and people are loud, arrogant and obnoxious without having half the talent, musical genius, foresight and introspection as someone like Liam.

It's nice to see early interviews. It was next to impossible to find out about a lot of them at the time unless you had satellite tv. Music television programmes in the UK in the early nineties were very rare and always on late at night so as a child I had to stay up to watch them or persuade a friend to record them, lend me the tape and then watch it at school! Thanks for uploading this gem!
Now this is how you interview a an artist. Instead of boring stuff about how many records have been sold she actually asks how the music is made 🙌 And of course Liam the synth nerd he is gladly explains it all 😏
I had the same haircut around that time in the UK, it was very popular. I think 1993 was the end of the raw rave era for me, but we carried on regardless.
I used to see this young geezer driving round Braintree in a brand new Lotus Elan, and me mate told me it was Liam. This was before I got into dance music (I ended up a huge Prodigy fan) but on hearing they were from my hometown, I had to love their music. Well that and the drugs haha, can't beat ecstasy to get you into dance music.
crisisofconsciousness I watched a RUclips vid the other night and they showed you how Liam did Firestarter. crisisofconsciousness sorry!!! Samples from a classical group doing Rolling Stones tracks!!! It was mental, and I believe done that way to avoid crazy copyright issues. Search up RUclips and there's bound to be someone showing how to do it, I'll see if I can find the channel.
crisisofconsciousness right, found it. The channel is Russian or something, but the title is: the making of prodigys Firestarter by Jim Pavloff in Albetonlive. Good luck mate!!!
crisisofconsciousness it's a mental thing to watch. I remember my mate showing me how the tracks go together back in the 90s on his Amiga (a really basic version of what this RUclips vid shows)

@Will Wood Someone needs to upload that interview promoting Baby's Got A Temper where he keeps saying "The Prodgy don't write songs about cups of tea, know what I mean mush, because The Prodigy are like a full band and shit that don't make songs about cups of tea. That's not what we're about." That was a classic.
Can you get any cooler ! And he did it all himself at that age, the UK's answer to Dr Dre ! He's better in my opinion his tracks are atleast TWICE as complex.
I thought that (well not really the hot bit cos I don't bat for the other side lol), but I'm sure it's the same one, just a couple of years older than she would have been when she was starry eyed with John Power.

Flamingosis is bringing back the heat! Highly underrated.

Best earth shattering albums. Awesome seeing live . Some fond memories of The Prodigy live. Liam H. changed music
Beautiful man.
Indeed, very handsome and good-looking
I love it when she says is there a reason for the small size studio? Of course my dear, it’s called money, or lack thereof…

I had the same haircut around that time too, I was 13. Went bald at 20 though 🤬
A fanny parting. I suited mine.
In German techno circles this haircut is very typical
So down to earth
Legend right there.
Genius
It's bedroom sized....wasn't it his actual bedroom at this point? legend!
@CrisisofConsciousness sampled mostly. It was the Amen Loop that they then sliced up into pieces and sampled that onto a keyboard to play back.
oh hey its that guy
great sunglasses
Anyone wearing sunglasses indoors has huge pupils to hide, hahaha
Women looked so damn good in the early 90s. Their hair and makeup were styled so well.
Best live performance you'll ever experience. Been listening since 1991, absolutely timeless music. RIP Keith ❤
dark genius
He was great in East 17

Won’t you stay another day
Been around the World... theres no place like hoOoome..ooh baby!
Stole the words right out of my mouth

good questions, well thought out and a real effort to research the scene as it really wasn't as big a deal in usa as it was in the uk.

"Hi... Again..."

Who the hell done those subtitles? They are literally making it up.
Thery're generated with AI. Unfortunately it doesn't do too well with the Essex accent.
Or with the background noise. If there is a need for it, I can create subtitles until a better video is uploaded.
Great interview thanks for posting it. P.S. she's mad for Liam's you know what

How'd it go?
I assume this was recorded in February 1993. Can you tell me in which city? I was the visual artist during the tour.
In the NYC area, and if you toured in NYC itself in 1993, then probably within city limits.
cutie pie
Anyone believe he was sober during this interview? Hahahaha
Nope.
She's soooo into him
That's a Budweiser. I would think a Brit would know better.
the same voice of Chris Lowe!! (Pet shop boys)
