    Oh Father, What a beautiful Homily! I have a quote hanging in my kitchen that says, “Love begins by taking care of the the closest ones - the ones at home”, St. Mother Teresa. Thank you so much for reminding us of this important message. God Bless, Mary 🙏🏻

    I lost alot of blood in an accident. I died in the emergency room. I traveled thru the tunnel of light. I saw my life review ... when I got to the place where I gave birth to my baby's (I was around 20 years old... with two small children) I acknowledged how much I loved them. It was like I put on the breaks in tee tunnel. I thought "oh no! I love my baby's! I'm not leaving then on planet earth without me to protect them!" I stopped traveling thru the tunnel at light speed...I crashed to a stop. I started moving backwards out of the tunnel. My love for my baby's brought my soul back to my body I think... with God's permission of course ... obviously. Love is the most powerful force in the universe in my opinion.

    Our little boy died 4 times before the Lord finally kept him. The last time he said "Mommy! Jesus came for me." This was a prayer we had asked of God...that Mikey would have peace to know he could go to Heaven if Jesus came for him. And in His incredible kindness and love Jesua came Himself for our sweet little 12 year old.

      So true , so true. We don’t see people the same way we see when God is in our hearts. We see others with compassion just like our Father. We have to keep praying so that we experience God within us.

    As a young adult (back when we still wrote in hieroglyphics) I was skeptical of near death experience. Until I spoke to someone blind from birth who had a NDE. They had never been able to wrap their head around the concept of color. Spatial concepts, sure. But color was a mystery. Then they experienced their NDE, and we're floored and humbled by not only being able to see, but seeing a vast array of color. The detail of their description 'cured' my skepticism. Upon being revived, they remained blind, but their hope made them un-deflateable (probably not a word, but you get the idea).

    • @theresab7118
      @theresab7118 2 года назад +21

      That is beautiful and the memories of those colours hopefully stayed with that lady or gentleman.

    • @sleepinglioness5754
      @sleepinglioness5754 2 года назад +17

      Wow...what an experience for them and for you! God speaks to us and gives us the answers in the specific ways we can and need to receive them. Amazing, isn't it? He gave this person this understanding of 'color' in another dimension because in reality, their eyes would never see. But, I bet they saw a whole lot more than color after they had this insightful revelation and experience! I wonder if this person used this gift they received in some special way. Thanks for telling us this, Veronica.

      I heard a NDE from a priest who said a blind young man undergoing surgery found himself standing in the air outside the hospital. He watched a train through the trees and noticed the whites stuff on the ground. "Oh, that must be snow."

      My first Priest, who Baptized me into the Catholic Church talked about an NDE he had experienced as a new Priest. He was in a small plane crash. One of his parishoners was flying Father up to north Missouri so he could see his parents. But the plane's wheels caught in a power line. The pilot was killed, and Fr. Spike (short for Speichinger) was critically injured. He came out of his body during surgery, and told the doctors what he'd seen. It took Father 5 years to recover, and the beautiful stories he told us. He lived into his 80s and died in 2008.

    I was with my dad changing his clothes in the place he lived. He had dementia and we had to move him to a place with more care the following week. He had no idea. He would be separate from mom (married 65+ years) into another town. Suddenly filled with remorse for the pain and betrayal he would feel, I turned away from him and said “Dad, no matter what ever happens know that I will always love you. - Dad immediately responded: I know you do; I can FEEL it. He emphasized the word feel, and indeed at that moment we were connected. The LOVE was palatable. It was outside of us in that room. It was beyond time.

      I cried at how much you love your Dad and how he loves you. I’m so happy for You! I loved being a nurse in a dementia care unit many years ago. I loved every person and found so much joy loving them and making sure they were safe and cared for. I learned so much about loving others and it was an honor to care for the people there . Loving them brought me so much joy !My favorite nursing ever.

    A really beautiful and inspiring homily Fr Mark. Thank you. Yes, without love, somewhere in Scripture it says, our deeds are as dirty rags.
    In my NDE many years ago now, I experienced a love so great, as being in a vast sea of infinite and indescribable love. I was greatly astounded and comforted. I felt my spirit speed upwards out of my body and it seemed that in that moment I was being given a choice. To leave or stay. My baby was only months old and so I returned to my body filled with pain but knew I had been shown the glorious love of God.

      Also having a NDE and given the choice to stay or go (I also stayed for I had small children then). We will never question God after that, their is no doubt and nothing will ever convince us otherwise. I have a question for you, when you said you needed to go back what was his reaction to you? For me He had this look of worry and a deep sadness and He said “If you go back you will know suffering but you can stay and not feel it”. I used to think that I would lose a young child or something horrible like that but I now think maybe he was talking about I would have to live through the end of days. I’m not sure.

    Fr. Mark, thank you for sharing the near death experience. My friend who was at her death bed saw the Kingdom of Heaven is so beautiful and she told me that it was beyond description but she could not entered. She was gasping for air and told me to go to the church to ask more people to pray for her.
    I asked a priest and he was willing to go to the hospital to pray for her even though my friend is not a catholic. She is a christian.
    After 100 days of her passed on, her husband had a dream. In the dream, my friend invited her husband to visit her husband's greatgrandfather and greatgrandmother. My friend has a new role in Heaven and she is happily teaching the children.

Nothing "dark" or sad can remain, because God's love is like a light on the soul dispelling all darkness and depression no matter how deep it is. God's love renews the spirit!

    When I worked in the hospital and we coded someone who just passed, I can usually feel the energy leaving the room. A few times I told the doctor that the patient has passed before the ekg when flat. May God bless you all!

    I loved this, I speak to everyone giving them love. My kids say that people always look at me differently because of it, like their eyes are wider and I make their day just by standing there. I tell them that I do that on purpose, it’s like sharing the love of God with everyone you meet without even using words. If they don’t walk away from me with a happy heart then I’m doing something wrong. A smile a nice gesture.. you don’t know how many people say It’s the best they have felt all day because people can act so angry. My youngest child now does the same , the lady at the checkout counter said “you’re a kind soul, I can tell by the happiness you share just by standing there” 🥺 made me tear up. Share the love 💕

    I'm Lakota Sioux..grew up poor in a reservation. In SD and my dad made us go to the Catholic church. He then made me n my sister gk to Catholic school and i hated it but i loved it. I loved thst i got to have a nice bed and good food and not freeze to death each morning waking up. This is a long story so I'll just quit . anyway. I'm no longer cathllic and I believe that there is a God and He is everywhere and in each cell we have.

      Come back, Lakota Sioux! To Jesus present in the Holy Eucharist-in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament! Jesus is a prisoner of your love there, HIS LOVE, Waiting for you, 24 hours a day. Jesus said, "will you not watch 1 hour with Me?"The apostles were tired...Jesus tried 3x I think...then He was betrayed by judas. There are special blessings and protection that comes on you, AND THE WHOLE WORLD, When you do this. He is surrounded by Angeles, your Guardian Angel! You can make great reperation for your sins, your family, your tribe, country, the world. You are a SOLDIER OF CHRIST when you do this. Please, start going back to weekly confession, Holy Communion. You need to be in a state of grace, to receive communion, or to go to heaven when you die. The world is changing, you can see it. People have to choose the devil, or God, there is no inbetween! I didn't mean to write so long, but my son is Iroquois and far away, and my heart went out to you. Dont wait. Jesus loves you very much!!! Try to pray the daily rosary. You might want to get the book Secret of the Rosary

    There where no near death books to my knowledge when I was young. That said growing up in Ontario ( water world ) I heard near death stories of people who where drowning, I fell through ice, no NDE. Here near the Rockies it's folks falling off mountains, etc.
    Anyway these NDE stories are educational, real life and can serve as a guide on how to live.
    Thanks to Fr. Mark for more " light".
