Laos is a beautiful country spent ten days last year, and I enjoyed Luang Prabang but Vang Vein was my favorite. Make sure you go to the many caves and ziplining it is well worth it.

Ridiculous. Elephants in that part of the world have been used in war, as bulldozers for construction, for transportation, for hundreds if not thousands of years. Its not dissimilar to the way horses have been used in the west.
