Intimate Studio Strings contains both deep-sampled solo strings and modular divisi strings - meaning you can create the exact ensemble size you want (ex. choose between 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 violins, 1, 2 or 3 cellos etc).
The library has one of the most luxurious articulation lists we've ever seen. Including adaptive legatos, con sordinos, wealth of emotive arcs, sustains, any short note imaginable, tempo-synced ostinatos in multiple tempos and dynamics, multiple type of runs, FX and for some serious drops for all you disco lovers.

Troels can make great music with anything but anyway, this library is one of my favorites, not only among my 8dio instruments and really worth every € I paid for it.

Really loving this library so far in your demos and the ease of use of the interface is quite neat. Just at the point where I was itching for a more intimate sound... making it difficult not to purchase at that intro price! :P

Can you share your experience now after 4 yrs?
@@Ahmad-Mounir44 They're great when you want something different than most big string ensemble VSTs. A different, more intimate sound as the title suggests. They work best when used in small ensembles as opposed to solo. As a cello player, I find using recordings for solo voices on top of a bed of VSTs such as this one to be particularly effective. However, there are some small glitches here and there, as well as - and this might just be me - some minor tuning imperfections.
@@flemingbock Thanks man. The problem is that I seem to buy 8Dio products but use them less and less because of these glitches. That aggressive attack in the Century ostinato strings bothers me for instance.

This is very tempting and the demos sound great, but I'm hesitant because there's no real examples of violin, viola, and cello legatos and arcos isolated so we can hear if it's possible to create our own realistic flowing melodies with this library. :)
650mm I got this and found your very issue. I was also surprised by the lack of realism - it has a LASS vibe which is a library I hated. You have to make loads of variations when playing to build something that sounds natural and flowing as everything is so tight.
It’s quite laborious to achieve a realistic legato - which can be troublesome if you’re a working composer with super tight deadlines. I love 8dio but this particular library didn’t quite do it for me. All of their other libs are phenomenal though.

Does it have bow change legato and vibrato control?
yeah that's my one concern... not huge deal I guess but still, don't always want vibrato

I'm having so much trouble understanding how you get the porta, legato and vibrato at 7:07 to even remotely sound like this. I got the library, it's the exact sound I'm looking for, but I can't replicate it at all.
I never think 8Dio are apreciated enough; the sound is lovely and the ability to colour the sectional sound is inspiring, try doing this with everything on separate midi lanes, you lose the will to go on living! But, as in the case of VSL, the complex product range is at first imitating, and I think I need to have a look at the instrument map on the site.

why do the ostinatos fall out of sync with each other (example 5:58-6:07)?
Well! Not getting an answer to your question for a year is an indication for me to avoid this library.

It takes FOREVER to load!! I even tried putting the library onto an SSD and the problem persists. Is there a workaround?
I'm having the same problem. I literally waited 10min to load a patch...I purchased it for over $300 and then notice this basic problem.

I have a workaround. Go to your Microsoft Security Antivirus thing and make an exception to the 8dio folder (or the whole sample library folder). And voila, your loading times change from 10 minutes to 10 seconds! And there should be no risks if you only use that drive to store samples etc.
I just bought it. It took 10min to load just a single patch, that's big for me, I have never heard to load a library that took that long. I also wish there were more tutorials on how to use it. I'll figure it out. Please try fix the loading time issues please, if it needs an updating or something.
Have you done the batch re-save? Almost a must when having installed a new library if you're concerned with load times.

By using key-switches which allows you to control different articulations in the bottom of your keyboard

is there NORMAL Walkthrough with comparison of ALL kinds of DRY strings (1, 2A, 2B, 3a etc), WITHOUT sax? For what you want our money with such strange video? You are switching across different variants of the instruments, but not playing on them - why? Is there some wrong with them? hm..
One of the concerns I’ve is the amount of memory you need... in one of the patch I see 5GB 🤔
