The first years of the Seven Years' War didn't go well for the British (even though 22 year old George Washington was in command!). Then they decided to spend a lot of money on winning the war -- and they succeeded! The only problem was how to pay back their debt . . . maybe some new taxes on the American colonists?
Cool vid hope YOU make more vids thanks kept me entertained for a bit
That explains why it's called "the Seven Years War" in European history: it was an undeclared war for about two years!
This helped me understand it, thank you! Deserves more likes.
I love your historical videos. Unbiased, brief and educational. Keep up the good work. :)
I think you need a part 3 video too for its European fronts.
Nice
Nice video but no mention of Frederick The Great of Prussia, central to the Seven Years War
Just about the only commander of the British troops who made his way out of the battle that felled General Braddock was George Washington, regarding bringing his men out in any sembelance of a solid unit; the rest of them were simply basically eradicated by the Franco-Amerindian Alliance in that battle. After a short charge was rebuffed in that fight by a British volley, the French basically encircled the British and proceeded to slaughter the Redcoats with musketfire.
Another great video!!!
On the not-so-good-side, Europe's war bills shot through the roof I'd say; and that led to the events that caused the American War for Independence as it turns out.
American colonists often, in reference to themselves, spoke of the "rights of Englishmen".
In Fact the real winner is France of this war because France kept some of the Carribean Islands. France knew that Americans will revolt against the British a few years later. It looks like French lost the war but in fact with the treaty France can be considered as the winner.
It is for school
Did England wind up with the French West Indies in the Carribbean? You previously said that one small sugar island was worth more to the typical European rulers than all of the entire Eastern Seaboard of the present day United States of America in those days. Partly that'd be due to the development of the areas compared to the total landmass of the region that was inhabitable, and partly it was due to the built up status of the businesses, the sugar plantations in this case. So, since they'd consider just one of the West Indian Sugar Islands well worth more than the entire area of Anglo-French holdings in North America's Eastern Seaboard, it stands to reason that they'd demand a large number of sugar islands in the West Indies. Did they demand them in tribute as a result of the war therefore?
how do you write so well on computer
its a blue tooth marker and borad
The British Philippines (Manila) 1762-1764.
Shoutout to everyone else from 5th period watching this video
Also Jesus loves you
Fun
Interesting, but why does she keep saying English when she should be saying Great Britain or British?
English = England SPECIFICALLY
British = Great Britain
However in context, both work
Whos from bms?
How sad, the French should have won...
Should've, but they didn't.
RULE BRITANNIA!
Depends if you are British or French. At least the French weren't racist towards the Native Americans
Hypatia WRONG
जो हुआ नही उसकी कल्पना करने से क्या होगा । कुछ नही ।
So bad....nothing upto the mark
sloppy
just talking about the totaly unimportant americas and not about the real reason for the end of the war( a dead russian zar and a new one that realy realy liked the prussian king, so much that he made a very generouse peace with him). france, AUSTRIA and spain couldnt beat the prussians without the russians so they had to end the war.
thats sloppy.
at the beginning she specifically stated she was discussing the North American front
*****
but it ended in europe, the american front was of little consequence for the war and its end
the series is geared towards APUSH students who are studying U.S. history. The French and Indian war in NA has huge importance leading up to the American revolution, which is why it's focused on here.
clickbait, it's actually just a woman talking
