    Yeah "OK" is a solid description. I have used mine a fair bit now (considering they have only just come out) and I certainly have not "misunderstood" the weight since my first run. Part of my recent run was up a steep high and certainly felt it there but once on the flat again, I also got "bored" and pushed along a bit. Of course I can pick up the pace in any shoe I have and you don't need to have ZoomX on the side to do so. Agree the Speed 3 is more "fun" as well as 100g lighter in my size. On the plus side the ZF5 is very comfortable and I actually reached for it out of choice as had stubbed my little toe and was able to adapt the fit to stop it rubbing there too much. BTW if you get a chance consider reviewing the Endorphin Pro 3. I raced in it last night and the first time have done so in a non Nike "ZoomX" shoe for some years and I certainly felt the only real "disadvantage" was me not my shoes.

    I'm like the only guy in the universe who loves the ZF4 upper. In fact it's the upper that makes it such a great stable performer for long and tempo runs. When I heard about the ZF5 I bought another pair of ZF4. But now I have so many shoes it will probably be next year when I get the ZF5 on sale, so don't be surprised when I come back to this video in 2023! haha! Thanks for the review. @vince207 2 года назад +1

      zegama's are for quite long distance ( over 40 km ), goal is not to feel nimble, but to maintain the foot well, as well as offer good damping under the foot, hence the zoom x part.
      i did 10 km in some woods this morning with them and appreciated the synthesis they offer ( more reactive thant the wildhose, and more comfortable, very nice grip on different surfaces ... )

    • @Formerly-known-as-Steve
      @Formerly-known-as-Steve 2 года назад

      @@vince207 I totally get that, over 40k is a long distance you don’t need the “quite” 😉 I’m not really the right sort of runner being mostly road and only up to half marathon distances on trails , running today they just didn’t feel massively different to the Trail 4 which is already cushioned and stable shoe. When I got them wet they held onto that water. (I could blame my thicker socks for part of that), my biggest complaint is short laces, Nike: give us enough lace to do a runners knot!

    But it is definitely not a speed shoe or "racing shoe" as nike advert it.

    Excellent review that confirmed my "feeling" when I tried those shoes yesterday for the first time. From my point of view, as a "walker" who may happen to suddenly run so as not to miss the bus, I wonder if they can be like the Sketchers Max Road 5, which is a brick when you run to not to lose the bus. The best for that kind of run is (I tested it): the New Balance Fresh Foam More 3 and the Zoom Fly 4.
