I had the same issue on my RTT. I actually completely removed the aluminum rails and direct mounted the RTT to my bedrack. It's just as annoying to remove for storage as when it still had the rails attached but I also used Nyloc nuts and threadlocker too. Cheers mate!

2 years of use.. not bad.. but yeah locker or nylon nuts should be the minimum.
