The .S have a denominator that is sample size minus 1. .P is just sample size.
Sample data divided by just the count underestimates.
What minus one does: 10/5 = 2, but 10/(5-1) = 2.5
Grateful to have received such a excellent tutorial this is making me proficient in Excel and other programmes. Thanks abundantly.

Hi quick question I`m sort of struggling with my own project it is a pain to work on it without quick computing help and I was recommended to Excel but I cant find by myself anything helpful among 1000 of other videos about statistic and function . My project is basically working with groups of numbers for example
A1 (1,3,5) A2(2,4,6) A3(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10)
and I would need to do something like this
[(A1 + A2)-A3]=7,8,9,10
=> [(1,3,5) +(2,4,6,)] -(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) =7,8,9,10
Pleas let me know if anything like that is possible in excel and where to look for it that would be very helpful for me and let me continue work much faster with way less mistakes.

Hi, Mike, What are the difference between STDEV.S and STDEV.P? I understand that one is for sample and the other is for population. I tested them by giving the same range of data for both functions, and they give different results. What are the logic behinds this?
